Why three coffee beans? Great question!
The significance of three coffee beans placed as a garnish on this variation of a coffee martini is peddled in history and humor. Traditionally the garnish for a glass of Sambuca is ‘con la mosca’ translates to ‘on the fly’; though the stories pass around bar rooms and tap houses of Dolce Vita actors and actresses fancying a glass on sambuca in their finest evening attire tossing coffee beans into each other’s drinks a prank as they shouted “THERE IS A FLY IN YOUR DRINK!” 🪰
The true origin of the garnish is far more symbolic and wholesome; representing three blessings...HEALTH, WEALTH, HAPPINESS
