Amino Acids: The Building Blocks of Protein
Amino acids are known as the building blocks of life. These organic compounds combine to form proteins, which help to build muscles, provide structure and function for our organs and tissues, and make up our cells.
As supplementation of amino acids grows in popularity among athletes, weekend warriors, and everyday gymgoers, it’s increasingly important to understand exactly what amino acids are and learn more about their well-studied benefits.
Classification of Amino Acids
Whether your dietary protein source is meat, dairy, or plant protein, the protein you consume is broken down into 20 different amino acids classified as either nonessential or essential. Nonessential amino acids can be produced by the body using other amino acids. The nine essential amino acids are so named because the body cannot make them, and they must come from the diet.
One of the most recognized groups of essential amino acids is branched-chain amino acids. These BCAAs — leucine, isoleucine, and valine — are frequently found in workout supplements and recovery products.
Muscle support during any type of workout is crucial for pushing through difficult training and optimizing performance. When taken during a workout, BCAAs can reduce muscle breakdown and are a readily available source of energy for working muscles (1-4).
Furthermore, these amino acids are important for muscle recovery after strenuous workouts because they trigger the cellular mechanism for rebuilding proteins in muscle (5).
Why Amino Acids Are a Treat For Your Muscles
Providing your muscles with a source of BCAAs during training not only delays fatigue but also promotes recovery (6,7). What Are Food Allergies?
A food allergy occurs when the body’s immune system overreacts to a harmless protein found in a food. Having a food allergy means the immune system has become sensitized to a protein component of a certain food, triggering an abnormal immune response any time a person is exposed to that food (2, 3). A few common symptoms of food allergy include hives; swelling of the face, tongue, and lips; constricted airways; difficulty breathing; and sometimes gastrointestinal symptoms (4). An extreme allergic reaction, known as anaphylaxis, can be a medical emergency.
Although there are more than 160 foods that can cause a reaction in sensitive people, there are eight common foods that account for approximately 90% of all food allergy reactions (1). These foods include milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soybeans (2). The “big eight” as they are sometimes called, and any ingredient that contains protein derived from them, are designated as major food allergens.
If you suspect you might have a food allergy, it’s important to work with your doctor to find the cause of your symptoms and make sure you have the right treatment plan in place.

But don’t give up on the screen entirely! We’re fortunate to have this technology to keep us connected — we just have to manage it. Here are five tips to avoid burnout and start feeling better about your digital connections:
1. Prioritize: It’s OK to say no and prioritize the events you do want to attend
2. Make a phone call - Not every digital interaction needs video!
3. Turn off the camera - Turn on the camera when it matters or is expected, and give yourself a break otherwise.
4. Take a walk - A walk outside takes your mind off all those digital social cues your brain would otherwise be searching for.
5. Maintain some perspective - imagine what this would have been like 20 years ago...
Set your boundaries, and makes your priorities, but remember that while we stay physically apart, keeping socially together is a blessing.

Servings: 2 Calories: 109kcal
》》 Ingredients 《《
• 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk or milk of choice
• 1 scoop Vanilla IsaPro®
• 1 drop Isagenix Lavender Essential Oil
• 1/8 tsp cinnamon
• 1/8 tsp Himalayan sea salt
• 1 tsp manuka honey (optional)
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
☆ Pour milk in a small pot and warm over low heat. Stir to mix the fat and liquid.
☆ Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. If adding honey and/or vanilla extract, stir those in as well.
☆ Pour mixture into a blender, and blend for 2 minutes.

Let me tell you a little story about what's possible when you have a badass work ethic and the willingness to believe in possibility versus probability.
This is Lindsey. On Sunday, the 26th, she received a phone call from her very passionate, yet totally crazy, coach. The coach said, "You have 20 days to make Crystal Director and I know you can do it. Are you in?" ... well, the thing about Lindsey is, she is ALWAYS in.
And they were off. It took a lot of effort. A lot of stretching. A lot of getting her people paid (2 Crystal Consultants @ $100 each!). And A LOT of forgetting about comfort zones and playing safe. It was an all-out madhouse of turning over every stone they could find. But, alas, Lindsey didn't hit her goal in 20 days.

I love the coffee from Isagenix. It's the only coffee I can drink black because it tastes so damn good by itself. What I didn't realize though, was just how different Isagenix coffee is. I have always been an inspired, driven and successful leader, who spent almost 20 years climbing the corporate ladder. The money was great, the challenge was fun and each step up of the climb was more rewarding then the last. I thought I would retire sitting at the C-Level table of those companies, feeling like I had accomplished my dreams.
However, when I became a mom to my amazing kids, I felt my priorities shift. I still was still as driven and motivated as ever but the “Time-for-Money” exchange no longer felt rewarding, especially when the time was 60+ hours a week. Thinking about being 65 and retiring to finally enjoy my life, when my kids had moved out with families of their own, was no longer something I was willing to accept. So I decided to move that ladder I was climbing against a different wall – one that led my on an entrepreneurial journey where I could put my time into to building something for me. Something that would fund retirement at 45 instead of 65. Something that would continue to pay dividends, far after I stopped putting in the time. A legacy that I could pass along to my family.
