It was one of my first orders when I began my business and my first cascading bouquet.

As I unpacked the box it came in, I could see that the flowers had not been hydrated properly for shipping this kind of bouquet.

This once stunning cascading bouquet was withered, droopy, and losing petals. On top of this, I could see that excessive floral glue was used to keep the flowers from slipping, which essentially sealed the bottom of the stems, not allowing for any water to get through.

I filled up a vase of fresh cool water, added a bit of flower food, and began deconstructing.

With each stem pulled, I snipped the ends and put them in water. Many of them weren't viable because they had so much glue sticking to the stems and petals.

As soon as I was finished, I popped them into the cooler and said a prayer.

A few hours later, I thanked my lucky stars that they had perked up, and there were just enough viable stems to complete the preservation.

My Why...

It's no secret that I have loved flowers all my life, but another thing I am passionate about is marriage. It has been one of the greatest gifts my husband and I have given to each other over the last 19 years. And when I say marriage is a gift- what I mean is... it's the gift of patience, forgiveness, and understanding. It's the gift of choosing to love each other even as you grow and become people different than the ones who stood at the altar. It's the gift of integrity and respect for one another and the gift of showing up in the hard.

My floral preservations are beautiful, but more than that... they are a reminder of the beauty. The beauty of your wedding day. The beauty of your love. And the beauty of all that is possible and what is to come♡

I LOVE love.

I love hearing about the journey of it and how it all began and I would love to hear your story!

But I'll go first.

I met Mike when I was 10 years old.

We were both in 5th grade.

I only knew him by name and the fact that he was really good at basketball.

In 8th grade, he became my first "real boyfriend", my first kiss, and we even named our first child (that's so crazy, I know- but young love has dreams). And her name was going to be (drumroll please🥁🥁🥁).. Destiny.

I broke up with him the summer going into 9th grade and his reply was

"That's ok... you'll be back."

And that's where I'll leave it for today.
