Adíos Youth Assembly…

Revolutionary Greetings Comrades!

Fellow young people in Zimbabwe and abroad, I pen this message as a way of expressing my revolutionary and heartfelt gratitude and support that you showed me throughout my tenure as the Secretary General of our party’s Youth Assembly.

Much appreciation goes to the Youth Assembly structures across the country and the diaspora for their solid and unquestionable support and commitment that you showed me during my tenure.

I remain a dedicated servant of the people’s revolution for genuine democratic change under the able leadership of President, Advocate Nelson Chamisa.

Together we managed to influence change within and amongst the young people. We have scored victories, losses and survived challenges together but most importantly we remained focused on the task at hand in transforming the country for change.

Fellow comrades, the democratic trumpet summons us now to be resolute and duty calls as l take a new, challenging and important task. The Democratic Alternative is here to stay it is going nowhere.

Comradely,

Cde Ostallos

: Celebrating International Women’s day

The MDC youth assembly joins the world in celebrating this very important day in the human rights discourse.

We in Zimbabwe celebrate this day at a time when the majority of young women are still marginalized and suffer various forms of abuse.

That is it may, we take this day to celebrate the revolutionary milestones that we as the MDC have archived in so far as empowered of young women is concerned.

Since the formation of our great movement, we in the youth assembly have managed to work together to empower women and fight for their space in society.

We continue to call for the deployment of young women in strategic sectors of our economy, politics and all sectors of our society.

As the youth assembly we are prepared to work towards the full realization of equal opportunities for all in a bid to make our society better.

We are aware of the challenges that young women continue to face under this regime and our message is that we must unite and continue to fight for Democratic and egalitarian Zimbabwe that respect the rights of women.

We also take this opportunity to celebrate all the heroines of this struggle whom under extremely difficult conditions initiated and executed this fight for a better Zimbabwe.

They came out in numbers to form, support and work for the movement and their country when it was not fashionable to so.

They were maimed, harassed and r***d by a brutal, callous and murderous regime that never understood the importance of a vision.

We will continue this fight, until we archive an equal society.

MatSouth Youth assembly successfully march for the 16 days of activism against gender based violence.

It was all red in Gwanda town today as the youth assembly took to the streets to hammer in the last nails of the day's work. Gwanda town came to a halt as attention was drawn by the procession in red chanting anti- violence songs demanding an end to human rights violations.

The youth assembly showcased their mandate to guard the democratic space in Zimbabwe in taking the campaign to the streets an avenues of Gwanda town spreading awareness to the public, as part of their right enshrined in the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Hats off to the Provincial leadership for leading from the front.
The time is now and if not now it will be never.

The campaign running under the

was clearly articulated by National Gender Secretary Sandra Ndlovu, Students Gender Secretary and the Provincial Youth Chair Edgar Ncube respectively. The local theme, *Let's go 365 not 16* was emphasized as it is the only way to fight abuse and violence on a daily basis by Councillor Sifiso Moyo.

Bravo for the job well done.

The assembly appreciates the mammoth task handled by the Mps, Provincial leadership in making the day a success through contributions.

Defining a new course for Zimbabwe.

Let's Go 365!

Today marks Day 4 as the world and nation commemorate 16 days against gender based violence.

This year's commemorations runs from 25 November to 10 December under the theme, "Generation Equality Stands Against R**e".

As the MDC Youth Assembly joins the rest of the world and other progressive organizations in commemorating these important calendar days, it is our underlining that our society need to eradicate and eliminate all forms of gender based violence hence our localized theme, Let's Go365 Not 16.

The Assembly has lined up a number of programs and events to raise awareness against gender based violence starting with a roadshow program to be held in Gwanda on 30 November.

Generally women and young women in particular are often victims of gender based violence.

We have noted with concern that some very senior politicians are chief culprits when it comes to perpetrating violence against women, especially their spouses.

From Kembo Mohadi to General Constantine Chiwenga, the media is awash with stories about how the two ZANU PF Vice Presidents ill treat their spouses and sometimes with the help of law enforcement agents as in the case of the former against Tambudzani, his wife.

The most saddening part is that even in Universities which ideally should be paragons against gender violence, female students' rights are often violated in what is infamously referred to as "Thigh for A Mark" practice by male lecturers.

Despite Zimbabwe outlawing child marriages, this social ill is still rampant in the periphery of the periphery of our countryside.

It is also clear that not enough has been done by this military government to support provision of basics like monthly cycle pads to young girls especially those in primary schools.

The shrinking democratic space has also not helped the fight against gender based violence as oftentimes civic groups and organizations are branded enemies of state for carrying civic work for such purposes.

State agents have also catapulted cases of women abuses as was the case on 01 August 2018 and January 2019 when women were r***d and murdered.
