β€οΈTodays project; Ashton asked me to make him a pair of slippers in red so I did. We even added some "no slip" grip to the bottoms so he doesn't go flying across our floors π
The best part? This is my custom made pattern - it's meant for beginner crocheters - it's so simple and it includes all toddler and big kid sizes! I shall have this PDF typed up in the next few days and posted to my Etsy page if you want to purchase an ad free version π π₯Ώ π§Ά
On the hook this week: completed this custom fitted pair of slippers with drawstring for a customer who has swollen feet due to health issues and couldn't find a pair of slippers to fit. I hope these work wonders for her! π₯Ώ π
Had so much fun making this custom order/ converse style slippers. I love how they turned out and are so versatile for small or large feet, wide or narrow: the laces really help give them a custom fit- and they are doubled sole for extra cushion and longevity .

Ok this is a cute story.
So we had a cockatiel named Joey for 10 years. He passed away a while back, and my son had a bird toy from a kinder egg , and he named it Joey.
Recently I saw some Kleenex on my son's nightstand , as I went to toss it out I realized it wasn't garbage- he had made a bed for Joey. And a blue pillow. He would put Joey to bed every night. So I grabbed some Kleenex and made it red, and surprised him with a blanket. Every night we tuck Joey into bed on his night stand π.
Tonight, while my son was outside playing with our dog, I decided to give joeys bed a makeover. I whipped up a little bed, pillow, and his own personal blanket with the letter J embroidered on it . My son has yet to come inside and see this- but I know he'll love it π₯° π

Finished testing this granny square mosaic top for .crafts.
I don't like showing much cleavage so I did add in a little "corset," type tie to the front to close it up a bit, other than that, the pattern is all hers and it turned out really well! Thanks for letting me test and now I have a new summer top!

This one's more of a slipper sock because I used a bulkier yarn and they slip on easier , but none the less, another cozy pair βΊοΈ π§¦

I finally found a sock pattern I love. Honestly I don't want to take these off π but clearly I can't wear them forever... so... you'll be finding me whipping up a few more pairs in varying colours because these have become my winter must haves this season βοΈ π¦ΆπΌ π

There's matching mittens and a sweater for this set. Maybe one day I'll venture out and make a set. For now I was just using up some scrap yarn and trying out a new pattern.
If I was to make a set for myself I'd do a light tan/ beige for the entire thing or a mixture with dusty rose pink and grey. π
We're doing something a bit different here. This week only we're doing Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals on select items! Be sure to check the stories to see what's on massive sale!! I'll post some in the highlights as well!
Baby gifts? Christmas gifts? Something for yourself? Now's the time !
Snowflake making βοΈ π
I did it π€© I made my own knitted slipper pattern and I'm in love with how warm they are and how they feel when I walk all day in them π₯°
This pattern is beginner friendly , worked on 2 needles , is customizable for any size you need, and uses chunky yarn and large needles for an even easier ( and quicker) knitting experience. I can't wait to get this pattern typed up and have it ready in my Etsy store! π₯Ώ π§Ά
- my own downfall is my mattress stitch ( to stitch the seam up )- I need to practise picking up the correct stitches to get a seamless join. There's so many ways to join a seam and some are more invisible than others .
π₯Ώ Knitted my first pair of slippers from scratch!
When I say from scratch- I mean I was trying to design my own pattern and make it beginner friendly . After looking at many online , I decided to try my own to get the perfect fit for me.
Things I learned/did:
π§Ά large needles and bulky yarn make the project work up faster, which is great for instant gratification, as well as beginners . Larger needles are easy to hold, and bulky yarn is easy to work with, and see your stitches etc.
π§Ά I used 2 needles and worked flat, instead of circular needles in the round .
π§Ά I forgot to purl once I got going so instead of frogging it all, I just continued on with the knit stitch the entire thing, creating the overall garter stitch for entire project. - don't worry, I'm already on my second pair and I'm alternating knit and purl rows to get your traditional V knitted look and they are looking so much better. But I have noticed if you knit the entire thing your work does feel thicker than traditional stockinette ( when you knit and purl)
π§Ά Finishing the project- even if it's not perfect/ is success ! It's a self of accomplishment and I will still wear my slippers - flaws and all.
π§Ά One foot I casted off and cinched up the toes, the other foot I tried decreases with K2tog, and got a better fit- so something I'll apply to the new pair I'm making.
π§Ά My mattress stitch needs practise when it comes to knitting and picking up the correct stitches - for a seamless top. Something I'll get better on as I do it more. ( I can do it better when I crochet π«£π« )
All in all this is a win. Can't wait to finish the second pair. Once I've worked out my tweaks, I'll make the pattern available in my Etsy story as my first knitted pattern! πππΌβπΌ
I made my own very first knitted slipper π. And it fits and it's comfy!! ππΌ π€© Albeit I forgot to pearl back as I got going , and instead of frogging the whole thing I just stuck with the garnet stitch for the entire thing and it still works! I shall make the matching set and then onto some new bulky yarn , testing my pattern with the traditional knit/pearl to get your traditional "V" shape. I can't wait!! This may quickly become my new obsession π- there's just something about hand made and doing it yourself that gives me such satisfaction and gives me such joy π₯² π₯Ή.
Pickles!!! πππ
I had a custom order for emotional support dill pickle π, and 1 led to 5. What a fun cute project. Thanks for your order!
I decided to modify the knitted slipper pattern, once I got far enough along to realize how the pattern was going to come together , I realized I didn't care for the massive cuff that was going to be on it. So instead of finishing 1 slipper and not knowing what to do with it ( because I didn't want to make another one )- I ended up quickly modifying my work and casted off and created a headband. Being knitted AND bulky wool- it's tightly combined and super super warm. Neat! Love when trials become something else! No fails here!
Now/ I've dug out some chunky purple yarn that I know I have enough to make 2 slippers and I'm going to re do the pattern to my liking and try again π π₯Ώ π§Ά happy knitting!
( I'm in for trouble if I'm already creating my own knitting patterns too ooOO ππ)
Finally done! π

This baby blanket took longer than I'd like to admit. For some reason I found it repetitive and got bored with it easily, so I would only do a few rows at a time and then let it sit. I think all in all it was roughly 5 months sitting on my desk π , but I hammered out the last few rows tonight and finished it up! It's one of my favourite stitches/ I find the simple detail so pretty and eye catching , it's also quite heavy/thick for some extra warmth! Added a cute little crab to go with it and this will be off to its new home this week as a baby gift surprise βΊοΈπ.
Can't wait to finally start a new project ( anyone else like me.. can't start a new project until one is done? I refuse to have multiples on the go because I know I'll never finish them then π
)
Happy crocheting ! π§Ά
