We’re very happy to welcome on board Back From The Wave for the latest release on the year of our 20th anniversary. Three original cuts followed by a Jorkes remix.
Fred is not a newcomer, he started in electronic music 25 years ago. He made his debut in the early 2000s on two techno and electro French labels: Goodlife and Scandium. Both were an inspiration for us when we started Factor City in 2003.
Back From The Wave is the most personal project of Fred, exploring and combining electro, techno, italo and Ebm. As he already showed on his excellent releases for Ritmo Fatale, Mélopée, Bo****lo A Parigi, Nein and here again on these exciting three tracks.
The Ep comes baked with an excellent Jorkes remix. The Vienna based producer and Freeride Millenium co-owner has delivered excellent records and remixes this year on Permanent Vacation, Aus and Live at Robert Johnson. Now on Factor City.

The bosses Endrik Schroeder and Back from the wave join forces and mix their inspirations into this powerful, strong… raw release.
Straight out of the 90’s, the both original tracks seem to synthetize all that was best in the 90’s techno. 🫠

The track “Raw” develops an uncompromising techno, highly inspired by rave.
A deep vitalizing track, dark and rock, which will make the crowds screaming. 🧨

“Acid Control” is the very quintessence of acid techno.
A hypnotic and energic rise to power until a mental, cerebral break.
Then, the track flies away with an even more brutal dynamism. Enjoyable! 🤯

After the success of their track “Amour Éphémère”, the Franco-Brazilian duet Nouveau Futur is back on the imprint. The vocals and the colder atmosphere give to the original title “Raw” a more “body music” side which is so dear to them. 😈

Fabrizio Mammarella gives to “Acid Control” a perfect breaky 90's touch ! Always keepin' the acid side at high level and adding a dirty instrumental look ! 👌

Back from the wave – Psychic (EP – Space Factory Records)

Genre/Influences: Techno-Body, EBM.

Format: Digital.

Background/Info: Back From The Wave is a French project which has already released a few works. They signed to Space Factory Records to unleash their newest EP featuring three tracks plus two remixes.

Content: All songs are driven by solid bass lines and Techno-Body vibes with space-like strings and effects on top. Remixes have been accomplished by Panthera and David Carretta.

+ + + : This project sounds like a true addition to the Space Factory roster. According to me all tracks could be used as title-song which says something about the potential of Back From The Wave. The sound is the perfect offspring between EBM and Dark-Techno influences. David Carretta boosted the title cut with a harder and faster kick while he also added extra, menacing sequences. This is the absolute highlight. Panthera also achieved a powerful remix of “Corrosives Influences”. Last but not least the last cut “C345B” sounds like an extra dancefloor cut.

- - - : I don’t have true minus points to mention nevertheless I always regret when a remix by another artist is more convincing than the original edit.

Conclusion: This is a solid EP for Techno-Body heads.

Best songs: “Psychic – David Carretta Remix”, “Corrosives Influences – Panthera Remix”, “Psychic”, “C345B”, “Corrosives Influences”.

Rate: 8½.

Présent sur la scène depuis 20 ans, le producteur Fred Rodrigues-Carreira (de son vrai nom) faisait ses grands débuts sur le label de The Hacker et Oxia, GoodLife, ainsi que le Scandium Records de Delon et Dalcan. Presque deux décennies plus t**d, il lance ce qui s'apparente à son projet le plus personnel : Back from the wave. Après un passage sur la compil' Liquid Sky en 2021 avec le crépusculaire "Raver" (feat. Endrik Schroeder), il est de retour en solo sur Ritmo Fatale avec l'EP « Les Enfants du Siècle ». Baignant dans une énergie bien brut de décoffrage, tout en tension, il rend hommage à ses premiers souvenirs de rave, aux sons de Beltram, Armando et Detroit... et mêle techno 90's et lignes acid épileptiques dans ses 3 tracks exclusifs. Une nouvelle sortie qui va foudroyer les dancefloors ⚡️
