Confessions from the Grain Cart
This podcast will welcome you into my world as a mom, wife, farmer, leader, best friend, lunch lady, CFO, and of course The Grain Cart Driver!
Wheat harvest is complete and it was good to us!! Now to finish beans and watch the corn grow!
Wheat sure is pretty!
Spring has officially sprung! I’m not quite ready for all the hustle but ready or not….
Harvest 22’….you were average at best, caused a few headaches, taught us some lessons, will help pay the bills, and probably the best part….you are DONE!
Can’t get this view in the city!!
Being the cart driver all the pretty pictures are usually of the combine 🤷♀️
Is this what they mean by 🤷♀️
Just over here hoping and praying we will have enough grain to fill this once it’s finished. Farming is hard and it’s harder when it doesn’t rain!
Home of the Free because of the BRAVE! Thankful for all who sacrificed and continue to do so. Greatest country in the world!
We are down to the last few acres of wheat and the dreaded straw field! After tomorrow bring on some rain!!!!
Apparently it’s bring your wife to work day…he needed someone to hold the brake and open gates 🤦🏼♀️
I don’t catch them in the same field at the same time very often.
Always the last 20 acres that seem to take the longest….next up crayons aka soybeans!
This is such a weird time of year…will it rain? Will it stop raining? What time do I start supper? Will we eat in the tractor? Will I need to pick him up from the field? Yes we are still married…No he isn’t coming…Basically it’s a waiting game and I’ve learned to plan for nothing and everything at the same time!
So if your wondering why there aren’t any new episodes lately these are the reasons why…traveling and family and help running the farm are my reasons and I won’t apologize for that. However I still have stories to tell and maybe a thing or two to teach or preach 🥴. Tom says the traveling is over for now and we /he might get to plant corn this week so that means I’ll have extra time on my hands! New episodes coming May 13!!!
Sorry for being MIA I guess it’s still travel season over here. It’s about over though and I’ll be focusing on great stories to bring back to y’all!
To me Valentine’s Day is dumb! I love this farmer every single day….even when he drives the combine!!
Happy New Year from The Farmer and I..2021 was interesting! Here’s to 2022 coming in real quiet and calm…who are we kidding here’s to another adventure!
My wish this Christmas is for a bigger grain cart on trax with a duel auger….let’s hope Santa doesn’t disappoint! Hope everyone has a very merry Christmas!!!
As most have heard by now Bowling Green suffered devastation by a tornado on late Friday night early Saturday morning. We were fortunate and did not suffer damage but our hearts and prayers are with the ones that lost loved ones, their homes, their neighborhoods, their pets, their safe place! Sadly Bowling Green wasn’t the only town hit! Please be in prayer for all those affected by this horrid event! Hug your families a little tighter this Christmas!
Nothing like fresh turned dirt! Finishing up harvest today and prepping for spring plant. Maybe one day things around here will slow down….said nobody!
Down to the last 200 acres of the never ending harvest! Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!
Beautiful fall day to be harvesting some soybeans!!
Nothing like a Kentucky soybean sunset and a selfie with the husband!
We finally got started good in crayons aka soybeans. Did you know crayons and many more products we use daily contain soybeans?!? More from the podcast soon I promise!!!
It’s National thank a Farmer Day. This picture represents a whole lot of things. 1. Hard work 2. Pride in what we do 3. Four Generations 4. Family Dinners and Celebrations 5. Hard Days 6. Great Days 7. Sacrifice 8. Missed Events but the most important thing this represents is FAMILY!
From the drone it looks like I’m carpet farming!
