HYPERTENSION

Blood pressure is the force exerted by circulating blood against the walls of the body’s arteries, the major blood vessels in the body. Hypertension is when blood pressure is too high.

Blood pressure is written as two numbers. The first (systolic) number represents the pressure in blood vessels when the heart contracts or beats. The second (diastolic) number represents the pressure in the vessels when the heart rests between beats.

SYMPTOMS
The signs and symptoms of Pulmonary hypertension in its early stages may not be noticeable for months or even years. As the disease progresses, symptoms become worse.

Pulmonary hypertension symptoms include:

☑️ Shortness of breath (dyspnea), initially while exercising and eventually while at rest
☑️ Fatigue
☑️ Dizziness or fainting spells (Syncope)
☑️ Chest pressure or pain
☑️ Swelling (Edema) in your ankles, legs and eventually in your abdomen (Ascites)
☑️ Bluish color to your lips and skin (cyanosis)
☑️ Racing pulse or Heart palpitations

CAUSES
Your heart has two upper and two lower chambers. Each time blood passes through your heart, the lower right chamber (right ventricle) pumps blood to your lungs through a large blood vessel (pulmonary artery). In your lungs, the blood releases carbon dioxide and picks up oxygen. The oxygen-rich blood then flows through blood vessels in your lungs (pulmonary arteries, capillaries and veins) to the left side of your heart.

Ordinarily, the blood flows easily through the vessels in your lungs, so blood pressure is usually much lower in your lungs. With Pulmonary hypertension, the rise in blood pressure is caused by changes in the cells that line your pulmonary arteries. These changes cause extra tissue to form, eventually narrowing or completely blocking the blood vessels, making the arteries stiff and narrow. This makes it harder for blood to flow, raising the blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries.

Prevention
✅Reducing salt intake (to less than 5g daily)
✅Eating more fruit and vegetables
✅Being physically active on a regular basis
✅Avoiding use of to***co
✅Reducing alcohol consumption
✅Limiting the intake of foods high in saturated fats
✅Eliminating/reducing trans fats in diet

Teresita (1).

Ang ibang pasyente ay mula sa Isabela (11) partikular sa Quezon-1, Cabagan-2, Santiago-1, Mallig-2, Sto Tomas-1, Ilagan-1, San Pablo-3. Siyam (9) naman ang nanggaling sa ibang probinsya tulad ng Tabuk-2, Calanasan Apayao-1, Rizal kalinga-2, Junction kalinga-1, Camiling Tarlac-1 at Kabugao Apayao-2.

Bukod dito, ay mayroong 38 suspected patients na mula sa Cagayan ay 30: Tuguegarao City-9, Penablanca-2, Solana-1 ,Amulung-1 ,Camalaniugan-1, Baggao-6, Alcala-1, Gattaran-1, Sto Nino-2 ,Sta Ana-1, Enrile-1, Lasam-3, Sanchez Mira-1). Isabela:5 (San Pablo-1, Tumauini-3, Sta Maria-1, Cabagan-1); Mountain Province-1 at Tabuk kalinga-1.

The Novel Coronavirus is a new strain of coronavirus that has not been previously identified in humans. The novel coronavirus has caused severe pneumonia in several cases in China and has been exported to a range of countries and cities.

Last February 12, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the novel disease is officially called Coronavirus Disease 19 or COVID-19, and the virus infecting it is referred to as COVID-19 virus (DOH 2020)

HOW IT SPREADS
The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.
