I am a full time Artist and tutor based in the Bucks/Herts area. I have been painting for more than 20 years. I like working in Acrylic and Collage.
My paintings are contemporary Still Life , Buildings or Abstract.
Well this is me indulging in the Pattern element oh and the square shape element. Scroll to see what is underneath. Lots of differences but trying to keep the palette simple. ‘Tapestry’ Acrylic and Collage on wood, 61cm x61cm.
‘Bright Sparks’ Acrylic and Collage on wood. 30cm x30cm. These colours just sing together. The jug is textured by pressing a piece of embossed wall paper into wet paint.

What is emerging is a boxy patchwork feel. With rough bits and smooth bits. I’m liking these shapes and the almost textile feel. Both based on footpaths that I walk. ‘Footpath to the Lilac tree’ 60cm x60cm and ‘Footpath to the Harbour’ 30cm x30cm
These greens are so soft. Made with Cadmium Orange and Black(with a touch of Ultramarine). Big Orange Flower and Lemon. Acrylic and Collage. 42cm x45 cm.
‘Wrapped in Ochre’ Acrylic and Collage on wood panel. 46cm x46cm. Sometimes it’s nice to try new colour combos.
This is called ‘Across the Loch’. I’ve just finished it and it took a fair few layers of papers and paint but gradually evolved into this watery scene. 60cm x60cm. On wood panel.

‘To The Lighthouse’ Acrylic and Collage on wood. 50 x50cm. I’m taking this up to The Cullen Gallery in Northeast Scotland. It’s inspired by the many small fishing towns along the Morayshire coast.

I have just finished this little thing. It’s painted with acrylic # on plaster. 17cm x17cm x 1.5cm. It’s a great surface to work on because it gives lovely textures. I’m going to mount and frame it and then offer it for sale on my website. I will post when it’s done. Anyone know how to mount such a delicate thing?

Dorsoduro. Strolling round this part of Venice was magic. It struck me as being more bohemian, student cafes, colleges. Acrylic on wood 12” x12”
Canals and Bridges. Acrylic on wood 30x30cm. This has has about 4 layers with lots of scratching,sanding and glazing n between in order to get that old weathered effect that I love.
‘Laguna’ Acrylic on wood. 30 x 30cm. There’s a bit of Venice in this. I was so inspired by the weathered, grainy walls, the water and the boats. We walked Venice and ate quite a bit of Cicchetti too! For Sale. Send a DM to enquire.
