I FOLDed so hard for yoga back in the day!
Reminder that there is not going to be a yoga class on Tuesday the 23rd at 5.30pm so I can attend my child's event. See you next week!
WE'VE GOT MERCH!
$53 for this warm snuggly hoodie!
We are observing MLK day. Enjoy your freedom. See you tomorrow!
This is so exciting to be able to offer this! Beginning as early as next week!
This is a period of time in my body (I experienced three times) where I learned more about being in my body than I could have anticipated.
Firstly - I grew a sense of awe for my body experiencing it changing to accommodate a life within me, really supporting both our lives. How strong and resilient we are.
Secondly - I learnt that there are things I can do to support my body during the incredible transformations it goes through during a pregnancy.
Yoga supported me while carrying and growing a changing pregnancy. It really gave me an ability to be more comfortable with carrying so much more weight. And yoga supported me during labour and delivery by being stronger and having a good understanding of how I breathe. A good practice of breath has been invaluable to me.
"The breath work we do has really helped my golf" - Dan
Isn't it good for our youth to see that their parents dive into subjects, conversation.... books, thoughts, ideas....community. find your community. It might be the best place you put your effort right now.
Join our BOOKCLUB.
We meet monthly. The books are within the theme of a Yogic lifestyle. And our gathering is that of community. Even if you never read a page and still want to be part of the discussion, you are welcome. We are just a group of like-minded individuals.
Next meeting is at the Gulf restaurant at 11am.
Next book is The creative act. A way of being.
By Rick Rubin.
I am very well folded!
This playlist for Friday is my favourite I've put together.
See you tomorrow!
Sankalpa: a promise
Resolution: a desire to fix something 'wrong' with us.
Sankalpa: accepts you as you are.
Resolution: wants to add or subtract something to make things better.
Sankalpa: we repeat daily or for a lifetime until it comes into being.
Resolution: falls away
Sankalpa: wants to bring out the best in you.
Resolution: wants to change who you are
Sankalpa: you are not lacking
Resolution: you are lacking
Sankalpa: everything you need is already part of and within you.
Resolution: something is missing
Sankalpa: uses positive present tense statements, I am, I have
Resolution: uses future statements, I will, I'm going to
This year, consider sankalpa or setting a statement that is true for you. You can have one or several sankalpa or choose different ones for your jobs, projects or relationships.
Every morning when you wake up and lie in half sleep, half wake, the brain is primed to receive your Sankalpa.
State it in the positive. The mind will misread any negative sentences. State it as if it is already true.
If you want more love in your life.
I am loved.
If you wish for more acceptance.
I accept the world as it is and myself as I am.
If you desire change.
I am open to change.
If you want to get better at something.
I have everything I need to be a great (x)
If you are not sure about your direction.
Everything is working out as it should.
YIN is such a beautiful compliment to an active yoga practice. It's not easy - we move into deep stretches to feel them intensely. There are physical, energetic and mental practices at play here.
It's definitely a practice I personally need to be guided through.
See you tomorrow morning!
Got song requests?
We're back at it tomorrow beginning the new year together! I've missed you!
My current Mantra.
Notice what you already have.
This is the phrase that has been presenting over the last 6 months. And it has been working so well for me - I'm bringing it into 2024.

This is the solstice, the still point
of the sun, its cusp and midnight,
the year’s threshold
and unlocking, where the past
lets go of and becomes the future;
the place of caught breath, the door
of a vanished house left ajar.
Taking hands like children
lost in a six-dimensional
forest, we step across.
The walls of the house fold themselves down,
and the house turns
itself inside out, as a tulip does
in its last full-blown moment, and our candle
flares up and goes out, and the only common
sense that remains to us is touch,
as it will be, later, some other
century, when we will seem to each other
even less what we were.
But that trick is just to hold on
through all appearances; and so we do,
and yes, I know it’s you;
and that is what we will come to, sooner
or later, when it’s even darker
than It is now, when the snow is colder,
when it’s darkest and coldest
and candles are no longer any use to us
and the visibility is zero: Yes.
It’s still you. It’s still you.
(Solstice Poem, by Margaret Atwood)
