One of the pots that I fired last night with some of my test tiles. I finally got this glaze to do what I wanted it to. I was really struggling the last couple of months with this one. Turned out so cute!

I’m looking forward to starting on the glazes! I’m about to play around with some blending techniques that I saw. If they turn out well, I will share them with you. I have to make sure I get it just right before sharing, or I’ll feel silly.🤪 The idea of creating something in pastels and ombrè, sounds like a lot of fun. What are your thoughts?

Spent some time looking back on some other pots that I had made with flowers. I don’t know about you, but I love having a beautiful floral arrangements anytime of the year. I also love the swirl of this handle. What do you think?

I’ve been working on quite a bit of illustration pots lately. What do you think about bringing back some of the flower mugs? I still plan to mix in a few fox mugs as well. 😁

I finally sat down and created some new designs for the upcoming season of mugs. I love moving on to the next chapter, starting over fresh. I hope you fall in love with them. I’ll be sharing some tomorrow. The clay was still too wet to underglaze today. 💘

I don’t know about you but I’m thinking if it’s going to be cold and Christmas time, I’d like to see some snow. ❄️☃️🏂🌨️ It just makes the grey gloomy days seem so much brighter. ☺️

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! Since I haven’t used the clay body “sheltowee” in a while, I wanted to share with you an image of a piece I made using this clay a while back. Just so you can get an idea of what I’m talking about. As I was scrolling back through my pictures, I couldn’t believe that it’s been over a year since I used this one. Super pretty and the illustrations come out so pretty.

🎄 Well here is the beginning stages. I’m so excited to play around with this next batch of pottery. I may not be able to get out a giant amount of pieces before Christmas, but they’re going to be a lot of fun. That’s for sure!🤗

I’m just about to sit back down at the pottery wheel. Hopefully the pots will be ready to start decorating tomorrow afternoon and I can share that process with you. I’m not thrilled when getting a late start in the day, though it was for good reason. My oldest son wanted some Mom time, so we went out and bummed around town for the afternoon. I know these days with him being home are growing short, so I’m trying to soak up as much time with him as I can. The holidays make it so special. 🎄Any moms understand the feeling?

Happy Thanksgiving friends! I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday. I have the most wild Thanksgiving story to tell you in stories later. First, I wanted to get in on the gratitude posts and share with you those that I am most grateful for during this season. My closest loves, the men of my life and our Father above watching over us.🙏🤗

Hi there! 👋 It’s been a long but wonderful day spent with the kids at school. Now it’s time to sit down and finally start glazing. I’ll be working late into the evening and up early in the morning to get these into the kiln once again.
I truly hope you all have been enjoying them. Once these are fired, I’ll begin the next batch which will include the nativity scene and foxes.
I’m going to take some time at the beginning of the year to start drawing more. I really want these pieces to tell more of a story for you.
I think a lot about the people who buy my pottery. The families, friends and children who may see or use them.
My grandmother had some really adorable pieces of art and decretive items in her home when I was a child. I used to let my imagination run wild while looking at them. I hope to eventually create pieces with more detail and hidden characters to discover. ✨

We are finally down to the last few pots for this next restock. Can’t wait for you to see them finished. This is definitely my favorite time of year to be creating.🎄Once the kiln is loaded tomorrow, I’m going into Christmas mode around the house. Looking forward to this place looking more festive.

Another day of trimming and decorating. I’m determined to be up early and have handles put on todays creation. Do you have weekend plans or are you going to be like me and just work straight through? 😁

I wasn’t able to get much accomplished in the studio, but sometimes these busy days out can be inspiring. When I’m running around I’m constantly looking for new ideas and collecting information about what is on trend and being enjoyed throughout the season. I’m looking forward to bringing back the skiing girl.❄️

Happy Sunday✨ Spent the afternoon trimming the speckled pots that were thrown over the past couple of days. Tomorrow they will be ready for handles and decorating. This is when things get really fun 🤩

Still needing to add some luster to the snowflakes. ❄️They will have a iridescent mother-of-pearl glow to them when I’m done.✨ I just couldn’t wait to show this one off to you.😁

Here we go!🎄Charlie Brown Christmas music is an exciting way to kick off the season. I was able to get a couple of my pots into the last firing that I did for my students. Just wanted to see how these colors would come out and if I need to incorporate some new ones this year. What do you think?

So this is another one I’ve had in mind, but I want to do better. Remember, that’s the goal. Gotta top the last few years. Also!! I can’t post anymore Christmas themed pictures and reels without adding Christmas music😂. Tomorrow is officially the last day of fall (in my opinion) so I will officially be switching up the playlist. All the Holly Jolly and Rudolf songs will be in full swing as soon as trick-or-treat has ended. 🙌🤭

Found it! This is an old one one but I still love the stockings so much. I’m going to recreate this piece with more style and it’s going to be adorable. I’m thinking this is from my first year selling pottery. This is giving Christmas 2019 for sure. Time to do better 🤗

Got quite a few more pots thrown today. So ready to start adding underglaze and really bring my work to life.✨
