‼️MISSING, MURDERED, & UNSOLVED‼️

14-year-old, Orenzo Dye, a fun-loving, vibrant young man had a premonition in the days prior to his untimely death. He looked at his grandmother with tear-filled eyes and said "I'm fighting a battle between God and the devil but I want to be on God's side."

For his protection, his family decided not to let him out of their sight. On the evening of June 29th, 2021, Dye asked if he could spend the night with his aunt. Dye's mother said that he could spend the night there under one circumstance: His aunt would check in on him frequently and make sure that he was safe throughout the night. His aunt checked on him hourly until 3 a.m., which was the last physical sighting of Dye. At 5 a.m., on June 30th, 2021, Dye's aunt went to check on Dye to find that he was no longer in the bedroom asleep. She immediately contacted Dye's mom, grandmother, and family to let them know that Dye was no longer at her residence. Dye's mother contacted the Greenville Police Department immediately to report her son missing. The family began searching Greenville for him within minutes of discovering he was missing on their own, as well.

At around 12:50 p.m. on June 30th, 2021, Greenville Police Department were dispatched to Amber Road in their jurisdiction regarding a citizen finding what they believed to be a body. Upon arrival, officers located a body that was burned beyond recognition. The body was also riddled with bullet holes to the backside of the body (i.e. head, buttocks, torso, and arms) which would likely indicate the unidentified individual was shot as they attempted to flee.

No identification was possible at the time due to the state in which the body was found. No gender, race, or age was discernible at the time. The body was sent to the state crime lab for identification.

On July 27th, 2021, the body was positively identified as missing 14-year-old, Orenzo Dye.

Family believes that someone was in contact with Orenzo Dye prior to his disappearance and subsequent murder. To date, there have been no arrests and no one has had to answer for the death of Mr. Dye.

Orenzo Dye deserves justice. Orenzo Dye's family deserves justice. If you have the information to give them closure and to give Orenzo Dye the justice he deserves, please do the right thing today.

If you have any information regarding the murder of 14-year-old, Orenzo Dye, please contact Crime Stoppers of Washington County at (662)378-TIPS. You can also submit your tip online at: www.p3tips.com
