We had a last minute change of podcast guest. None other than Councillor Iqbal himself!

The election season has begun and I wanted to get his thoughts on it as well as to respond to some of the claims in the latest Tory leaflet that has been doing the rounds.

This week there will be two Podcast episodes dropping!

One of the episodes will be with the the one and only Syed Asif Ali. Born and bred in Nelson Whitefield area in the 1970's and progressing through the academic system, Asif found himself doing what most kids in the 80's and 90's got upto until 1993 when he left Nelson moved all the way to County Durham. This was to make a new start in life for the sake of his parents as there was a real worry about the direction his life was headed.

Asif a lifelong boxing fanatic having studied the art from and early age. This passion resulted in him coaching the sport as well writing for Boxing News/opinion establishments.

This is only a short snippet into Asif's bio and personal achievements and inshallah in this episode we will get the full story.

Dr Naveed was born and raised in Nelson. He is currently the GP lead for the EU federation of GPs in East Lancashire. He also has extensive experience in foreign and humanitarian efforts and in the past has worked globally as a Board Director of Humanitarian organisations operating in various refugee camps throughout the world in locations such as Banagladesh (Rohingya), Syria and Africa etc.
