Speaker Highlight: RO VITALE!!

Ro Vitale es una cantante, compositora, actriz, comunicadora, psicóloga y escritora argentina. Cuenta con tres discos editados a la fecha: Conversacional, Étnica y LOVA y múltiples apariciones en vivo y en medios gráficos, radiales, televisivos y digitales. Ya en los comienzos de su carrera apostó a la música como medio de difusión de problemáticas sociales. El primer corte de difusión de su primer disco se llamó “Colmillos de la calle” y tenía como objetivo concientizar acerca del especismo y el abandono de animales.

En 2015 se editó TOCada, su primer libro, por la editorial Del Nuevo Extremo: una autobiografía en tiempo real acerca de su vida con TOC severo desde el diagnóstico hasta la recuperación. El libro fue declarado de Interés Social y Sanitario por la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (2016). A partir del lanzamiento se sucedieron múltiples apariciones en medios gráficos, televisivos, radiales y online. Ro es voluntaria y fue vocera de la Fundación Internacional de TOC de Boston para luchar contra el estigma que existe en torno a las enfermedades mentales, participando como oradora en diversas Conferencias internacionales, incluso a cargo de charlas de apertura (keynotes). También fue oradora TEDx con una propuesta innovadora: “¿Qué es el neurofeminismo?. En el 2019 presentó LOVA, su tercer disco, un manifiesto personal que combinó música, activismo, arte y relatos desobedientes.

Su multipremiado segundo disco ‘Étnica’ que recibió -entre otros- el Premio Gardel Revelación proponía recuperar los sonidos autóctonos de distintas tierras y fusionarlos con el pop actual, y con su tercer disco apostó a un movimiento comunitario de artes y activismos, en el que la prioridad era poner la creatividad al servicio de la emergencia civilizatoria. Es licenciada en psicología por la UNIR (Logroño, La Rioja, España. 2022) y egresada de la carrera de Especialización en Terapia Cognitiva Integrativa en la fundación Aiglé. Su TFG, intitulado “La urgencia de impulsar la perspectiva de géneros y diversidades en la clínica y la investigación en TOC” dio lugar a la charla “Los efectos de la cis-hétero norma y la violencia patriarcal en la clínica y la investigación en TOC” disponible en YouTube. En el 2022 co-condujo la keynote de la Conferencia de TOC Online en español (IOCDF), presentando perspectivas de psicología basada en justicia. Mientras sostiene su activismo anticuerdista y por la salud mental se encuentra pronta a terminar de escribir su segundo libro, TrasTOCada. Como psicóloga dirige Espacio Épica, un centro dedicado a la clínica y la investigación del TOC y condiciones relacionadas, cuya particularidad es que gran parte del equipo profesional y no profesional está conformado por personas que también viven con TOC. En 2023 estrenó en el Centro Cultural San Martín su primer unipersonal Órvita, que combina música, teatro y psicoeducación en una performance conmovedora, cruda e intensa.

A partir de una recaída producto de los efectos de la pandemia, Romina retomó su tratamiento específico y decidió compartir en las redes sociales gran parte del proceso de recuperación. Así es como en muy poco tiempo sus videos se viralizaron en TikTok acumulando a la fecha casi 200.ooo seguidores, más de 7.4 millones de likes, y videos más de 8 millones y medio de reproducciones. En septiembre de 2024 Romina fue la protagonista del episodio “TOC” la primera entrega que marcó el retorno de La Cruda, el emblemático podcast de Migue Granados. La repercusión fue impactante. Esta gran visibilidad le permite aportar diariamente a la psicoeducación masiva en torno a la salud mental. A partir de estos sucesos, Romina presenta una serie de charlas y presentaciones en diversos formatos con el objeto de continuar su labor como artista-activista por la salud mental y fomentar la reducción del cuerdismo y el estigma.

WRITER / PRODUCER / Entrepreneur: Steve has been fascinated by the silver screen since being left awestruck by the magnificence of Indiana Jones’ heroism at the ABC in Birmingham, 1981. Steve has launched numerous tech enterprises but always returned to the written word. Influenced by Wilder, Lynch, Kurosawa and Lynne Ramsey, he strives to portray broad emotions in interesting ways. His work is continually drawn to the deep well of mental wellbeing by his battles with OCD since early childhood, he was diagnosed at eighteen. Waving is his first project to be filmed.

Speaker Highlight: Georgia Lock!
Georgia Lock is an actor and voiceover artist living in London. She developed OCD at 22, and after learning what it was she was dealing with became passionate about raising awareness of the disorder. A published poet, Georgia has run poetry workshops for OCDuk, and has also worked with Childline to shed light on the disorder, and well as speaking at OCDAction's conference last year. She is currently working on her second poetry book, in which many of the poems are inspired by the struggles of OCD and the resilience of the community.

Our 3rd Annual OCD Gamechangers Community Event in Seville Spain! It's SO IMPORTANT to create awareness in countries that have little access to information about OCD and resources for help. Our events, led by the AMAZING Psicologo Alejandro Ibarra are an incredible way to share stories and create awareness for treatment options in Spanish.

Ellie (She/They) is an award-winning playwright, actor, q***r creative who is originally from Massachusetts where she also attended Emerson College. She is passionate about storytelling as a way to connect with others. Ellie is deeply inspired to collaborate on, create and share stories that discuss "uncomfortable" topics in a radically blunt, transparent, yet comedic way. Ellie finds moments of humor in horror, as a way to survive and celebrate the complexity of life, without minimizing the very real experience or struggle one may be facing.

In 2020, while hospitalized for a mental health crisis, Ellie started writing what would eventually turn into her international award-winning, critically acclaimed solo show: DRIVER'S SEAT: OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISASTER has been touring ever since. It most recently had a successful run at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. I wanted to announce the launch of The KnowOCD Gamechangers Directory, a first-of-its-kind resource created by The KnowOCD Foundation and the OCD Gamechangers. This directory is a first-of-its-kind resource that provides a free service for the OCD community by helping them find therapists who are qualified to provide the care they need. It features a growing list of carefully vetted providers, each with a proven track record of training in the treatment of OCD. If you’re in need of care, we hope it can be a breakthrough in your search for treatment.

Natasha Daniels is an anxiety and OCD child therapist with over two decades of experience. SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT! Alison Dotson

Alison Dotson is the author of Being Me with OCD: How I Learned to Obsess Less and Live My Life and the former president of OCD Twin Cities. She was diagnosed with OCD at age twenty-six, after suffering from “taboo” obsessions for nearly two decades. Today, she still has occasional intrusive thoughts, but she knows how to deal with them in healthy ways. Alison has spoken about her experiences with OCD with several media outlets, including The Atlantic, Glamour, Good Housekeeping, Health.com, and NBC, and has presented at International OCD Foundation conferences. On her blog at alisondotson.com, she has interviewed over one hundred people with OCD as well as loved ones and therapists. She lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her two rescue dogs, Tuffy and Gracie, whose shenanigans make her laugh every day.

Speaker Highlight for Dillon Tucker, writer/director of the movie "Pure O"!!!! October 5th, Los Angeles, CA

Dillon Tucker is a SoCal multi-hyphenate. His feature directorial debut PURE O was nominated for the grand jury award at SXSW 2023. He co-wrote and starred in Gina Cassavetes’ directorial debut LOVE & SKIN. Tucker also co-wrote and starred in the features UNEASY LIES THE MIND & THAT SIDE OF A SHADOW. An alumni of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Tucker was awarded the Charles Jehlinger Award for best actor. In addition to filmmaking, Tucker is an OCD advocate and an accomplished singer-songwriter having released six studio albums. He loves smoky scotch, New Hollywood cinema and believes Bob Dylan is a deity in human form.
