God is in need of me

Text: Matt 21:1-14
where was this c**t? Where it was tied. In what position is the ass? Isaiah 42:22 In slavery. If anyone is not in Christ the person is in bo***ge. Jh 8:32. Why did Jesus said they should loose him? because of freedom. Did the c**t refuse to be loosed? No. Also we must not argue with the word of God, because through the word, we will experience freedom.
He that believes not in Christ is condemned because he has chosen to be condemned. Jh 3:18. what happened to the c**t later on? The c**t was partaker of the honor attributed to Jesus because Jesus triumphantly rode on the c**t to Jerusalem, which implies that anyone that surrenders his/her life to be used of God, he/she too will be clothed with honour, one will bear fruit Jh 15:1-5. We must surrender our lives to be used of God.

Prayer: Lord, I surrender myself to be used of you

Condition for and expectation after salvation

Text: Matt 19:16-30
John 3:1-21
Salvation is a transformation of soul. One time, John Westley was asked have you being born again, he answered can't you see my portfolio, he was asked again he answered the preacher that "can't you see my big bible" the preacher asked the third time, it was then broken by the Holy Ghost and he realised that although he had been going to church and hasn't been born again.
There must a time you surrendered your life to God. It's not case the in which today you give your life to Christ, next week you give your life to Christ, next month you give your life to Christ. There must be a time you made the decision to surrender your life to Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

Expectation after being born again:
Mat 28:18-20
You are expected to rise for ye salvation of others. Don't give up. Strategize on how to go about it. Show love to people

No encounter no salvation
Text: Acts 9:1-20

You might be born in a Christian home, your parents might be ministers of God that doesn't make you born again. The fact that you have a Christian name or your father brought salvation to your village does not make you saved.

The fact that you go to church always does not guarantee your salvation.

Job 14:4 who can bring a clean thing out of unclean thing. No one

The psalmist said I was sharpen in sin and in iniquity did my mother conceive me

There must be a time in your life you hear the word of God, acknowledged that you've sinned and that you need mercy of God. Salvation is free and its the work of grace.

Do you have testimony of salvation?
Saul was a persecutor, dangerous person, he was consented to the death of Stephen.
1 Tim 1:12. But met with Jesus on his way to Damascus.
Saul had an encounter that brought about his transformation. Acts 9: 20 had this record he went into the synagogue proclaiming Christ, identified with Christ. Do you identify yourself with Christ? In your place of work, business, shop, can people see you has a disciple of Christ.
Acts 26:19. Saul wasn't disobedient to heavenly vision and we also obedient in shinning as light? 1 Peter 2:9, we have been chosen to show forth the praises of who has called us out of darkness into His marvellous light.. I.e we have been chosen as His ambassador.

Check where you've missed it and repent. Ask God for mercy and turn a new leaf.
If you haven't given your life to Christ. It's high time you accepted him into your life. Rev 3:20
"Behold I stand at the door, and knock, if anyone hear my voice..."

Father, I acknowledge my sin and I believe you send your son, Jesus Christ to died for me on the Cross. I accept the completed work of Jesus. Forgive me and give me the spirit of adoption. In Jesus Name I pray

Topic: The Great decision
Bible Reading: Joshua 24: 1 - 18
To decide is to choose between numerous or two alternatives. We shall choose that which is good in Jesus name. All over the places, prophets of God, leaders, even our Lord and Saviour, nations, God had called individuals and families to taking a decision. God will never force Himself on people or nation in taking a decision. Individuals on their own have taken decision on various issues of life. In career, business, marriage, but the decision on either to serve God or Satan determine destiny either in heaven or hell. A time came in the history of Israelite. Joshua needed to call the people to taking a decision, taking into consideration to dealings of God with men. He asked them to choose who to serve.
1. The supreme power of God: From Joshua 24: 1- 13, you can see the power of God been demonstrated in the life of His chosen. Be determine to follow God and He shall fight for you. In verse 1 - 13 of our Bible reading, we talked about the power of God.
God called Abraham out of idols to take him to promise land.
He multiply his seed.
God gave Abraham's seed inheritance.
He brought out the Israelites from Egypt by the hands of Moses and Aaron.
The Lord plagued the land of Egypt and demonstrated His power with signs and wonders.
Despite the fact that the Egyptian saw the power of God, they pursue after the Israelites and were overthrown.
God subdued their enemies and they posses the land(verse 8).
God turned curses into blessings(verse 9-10).
God caused deliverance from their enemies (verse 11)
God gave them land on which they did not labour.

2. Admonition to serve the living God (Joshua 24: 14-15): You shall serve God no matter what is happening around you in Jesus name. The power of God has saved you from COVID-19 and has blessed you and your family. He has fulfilled His promises in your life. Therefore, serve Him wholeheartedly. Determine to serve Him. Joshua the man of God called them to serve the living God and fear Him, serve Him in sincerity. Unfortunately, people don't serve God wholeheartedly and the Bible says woe to them that are at ease in Zion. Some don't even know the power of God again. Paul said, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Turn to God and make a strong decision with Him.
Joshua admonished them to put away all gods. God says He will not share His glory with anyone (verse 19). God hates sin/filthiness. After knowing God and going back to sinful life, God says He will forget his righteousness that he lived. This shall not be your portion in Jesus name. God we are talking about is a consuming fire(verse 20).
The consequences of serving other gods/folly of serving other gods: Deuteronomy 13: 1 - 9, it is dangerous to pursue other gods. There are deceptions in our world today. You shall not be deceived in Jesus name.
4. Be wise to godly decision (Joshua 24: 16-18): Take a look at God's wonderful works in your life. How he saved you miraculously from that sickness. The Israelites decided to be on the side of God and served God knowing fully well the power of God. What's your decision today? Is it to continue serving God? What is your choice? Barabbas of Jesus (Matthew 27: 17)? Baal worshipers were serving God of fire but incidentally, their god did not supply fire when they were challenged (1king 18: 21). Make a U-turn to serve the Lord. Jesus is calling you.
Prayer
Lord, help me to wholeheartedly serve you
Lord my decision to follow you shall not be shaken
Father, I shall not leave to serve other gods in Jesus name (amen).

Topic: Believe and Know it for your Own Good
Bible Reading: Job 5: 19- 27
We are still continuing in the series "Believe and Know it for your Own Good". What are you to believe? You are to believe the word of God. Believe the promises of God. How do you react to the word of God? If we act on the promises of God in Job 5: 19 - 27, others may be saying negative things, the word of God shall work wonders in your life. The word of God will work wonders in your life in Jesus name. Last week we discussed about a king named Belshazzar. He indirectly challenged God despite the fact that he knew what befell his father. He knew that God abhors evil. He knew that idols are not to be worshiped. He knew that the name of the Lord must be glorified. He knew that God can humble anybody because God humbled his father Nebuchadnezzar when he failed to listen to the counsel of the man of God called Daniel. As we obey the word of God, it shall not stand against us in Jesus name.
All these things happened to them for an example and admonition. Belshazzar did not live to tell the story although he ordered the elevation of Daniel. Daniel told him the meaning of the handwriting which was written on the wall and gave the interpretation. Not only that, the king ordered the promotion of Daniel. That night, the king was slain. Before we start judging Belshazzar, are we not exhibiting the same error as a Christian even though you know the word of God concerning it? Rebellion is as a sin of witchcraft. To obey is better than sacrifice. What are we doing that is contrary to the word of God. The word of God says you should grow in grace. You will have success through this word not by your power (Deuteronomy 8: 18). Joshua 1: 8 says:
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Good success comes from God. You will receive good success in Jesus name.
The Bible says love not the world neither the things that are in the world if any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him.
Luke 12: 16 says we should beware of covetousness for a man's life does not consider in the abundance of things which he possesses. Jesus gave us an illustration of somebody who planted cassava, maize and all sort of crops. Everything came up abundantly. Rather than glorifying God nor remembering the poor. He said he will pull down the old barn and build a bigger barn. He will tell his soul to eat and be merry. That night, his life was taken away.
The Bible says woe to those who are at ease in Zion. How much of the Bible do you read? How is your fellowship with God? As it not become mechanical? You read Bible once in a week? You are at ease? The Lord will deliver you. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success
How much of His promises do we now believe? In those days, when you hear the word of God, you tremble but what do you do now? You are taking the word of God with levity. The Lord will touch you today in Jesus name. Hebrew 2: 1 - 3:
"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him"
Do you give heed to the word of God. We should not allow the word of God to slip away from us. We should not have nonchalant to the word of God. Judgement of God is imminent. The word we are hearing should not slip from our mouth. It is appointed unto man to die and after this, judgement. The soul that sinneth shall die. The Lord is angry with the sinners everyday. All these scriptures has not been removed from the Bible.
Today we are learning from some rulers who have had about histories of Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar but made a costly mistake. These mistakes led to their ruin. Daniel 6: 1 - 3
1. Administration of the godly(Proverbs 29: 2). For the administration of the godly, the leaders of any category, there is need for people of integrity around them for fruitful delivery. This is because the leader i.e. the VC, king, president etc. cannot do the work alone therefore they need competent people around them. We need to pray for our leaders who are in authority. When we pray for them, they will rule righteously. Instead of complaining, start praying for your leaders. Darius appointed competent governors that will take charge and give him reports concerning his kingdom. Daniel as was read was distinguished among other governors. He had an excellence spirit. He was faultless and faithful. He was prayerful.
2. Conspiracy of the godless(Daniel 6: 4-9). The enemies of Daniel conspired against him but could not find fault in him except in his God. The governors and the counselors came to king Darius. They conspired to find fault against Daniel. In verse 8, they made obnoxious decree. The reason was to destroy Daniel. The king was possibly cajoled to sign the decree. The king did not query. He thought they were doing him favour not knowing they were working contrary to a life of a person in his kingdom who was one of his best arms. With all this, Daniel did not cease to pray. This country is God's own country. The Lord will heal this land. Let's put God first in whatever we are doing.
3. Signs and wonders of God (Daniel 6: 12 - 24). The king knew that the conspirators were telling lies against Daniel. He prayed for Daniel since he could not change the decree he has already signed. Eventually, Daniel was taken into the lion's den.
* The king fasted for Daniel.
*No feasting and his sleep went away from him
* No music was heard
*No entertainment
In the midst of all this, Daniel had sound sleep in the lion's den. No harm was found in him; he trusted his God. At the day break, the king was the first person to get the lion's den verse 20-23. The king cried lamentably with a loud voice to know Daniel was still alive. To the king's amazement, Daniel still alive because God was with him. He was happy and he ordered Daniel to be taken out of the lion's den.
4. The end of the conspirators and the king's proclamation ( Daniel 6: 24 - 28). In verse 24, the conspirators were thrown into the lion's den and the lions had mastery of them both they, their wife and children. In verse 25, the king made some proclamation which must be followed. Daniel 6: 26:
"I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end."
Jesus has power to rescue. He said he will deliver you from the scourge of tongue. Believe and know these things for your own good. Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
God is calling unto you. Why must you refuse His invitation? You need to acknowledge and accept yourself as sinner. Don't say everybody is a sinner. If everybody is a sinner, He wants you to be different. He wants you on His side. Christ bled and died for you. He suffered for you. Why must you continue to suffer when He had already suffered for you. Confess your sins to God and you will be delivered from eternal doom. You will have eternal life.

Prayer point:
Lord, forgive me all my sins. I accept you Jesus as my Lord and savior
Any conspiracy against my life, scattered by fore in the name of Jesus Christ.
Father, all the enemies intention to terminate my life, let it be frustrated in the name of Jesus
Let my enemies be buried in the pit they have dug for me in the name of Jesus
Father, any generational power that wants me to die before God's appointed time, your time is up in the name of Jesus name
Father, let every demonic influence targeted at destroying my vision, dream and ministry receive total disappointment in Jesus name
Father, let every demonic trap set against my life be shattered to pieces in Jesus name.
My father, let my life, ministry and prayer be extremely dangerous to the kingdom of darkness in the name of Jesus Christ
Father, I command all organized forces of darkness against my life to receive commotion, lightning and thunder in the name of Jesus Christ
Let your word work for me as I believe from today.

Topic: Believe it and know it for your own good
Bible reading: Job 5: 17 - 27
We bless the Lord for His love, steadfastness. When we count the blessings of the Lord, it will surprise us to know that the Lord has done spectacular things in our life. That is why we are continuing from where we stopped last week. In spite of what is happening around us now, if you are a child of God, you the word of God, His promises and the testimonies you have shared concerning the goodness of God. The word of God are there for your confession.
In Job 5: 17 - 27, the Lord promises to preserve you. He said no evil shall befall you. Because you have a living God, you shall not be shaken. Job 5: 27
"Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good."
What have we searched? The power of God, His promises, power, supremacy. We have searched it, so it is. It does not change. He honours his name above his name. Here it for your own good. In Jeremiah 29 : 11 - 13. This is the word of God and nothing can change it. The Bible even says we should search for God when He can be found. He is standing close to you. As you call on Him, He will answer you in Jesus name. He has given us His words and promises for our own good. His words cannot go unfulfilled. This should give you hope and joy. He has given us His law, promises and testimonies. If we keep His commandment, we shall be beneficial of the blessings that follows it. Everything written is for our own example so that we will not fall into the errors of our father (1 Cor 10: 5 -6 & 11). We should avoid falling into the mistakes of others otherwise is will attract negative consequences.
It is dangerous to learn from our mistakes rather than learning from others because it might be too late for amendment by then. When we learn from the mistake of others, we will not fall into the same error.
Our focus this morning is on a renowned and powerful king who one account witnessed the reign, the rise and the fall of his father. Yet, he fell into the same error and died untimely. You will not fall into error. You will learn from the mistake of others. The king's name was Belshazzar. His father's name was Nebuchadnezzar. Let's search ourselves. Where have we fallen? Where have we missed it? Daniel 5: 1 - 4.
1. Abominable act of the king and its consequences: The king made a feast with His Lords. Nothing is wrong for a king to wine and dine because it is a custom for a kings house to be filled with merriment. For king Belshazzar, God's name was not glorified with the feast he made with his lords (Daniel 5v 1-4). God wants you to celebrate but let God's name be glorified. In the king's case, he glorified the devil. He glorified idols. Many are still praising idols today. Many are still running after idols. Some in churches today, serve God and Mammon (idol). Attributes of this God can be found in Psalm 115: 4-8. Those who serve idols are like them. Idols you are serving cannot save you. Trust in the Lord. Belshazzar used vessel dedicated to the temple of God to celebrate; this is abominable. Exodus 40: 9. From the account of Exodus, God wants items dedicated to His house to remain holy. He challenge the supremacy of God indirectly just like the arc of God was brought side by side with dagon (1Samuel 5). God proved himself mighty. In Daniel 5: 5 - 8, a writing was written on a wall. After seen what was written, he was confused and could not read not interpret what was written. Daniel was introduced to the king. It was not that Belshazzar did not know Daniel but the king had forgotten the power of God in Daniel's life. The king exhibit his lifestyle of pride and arrogance (Daniel 5:13). When we humble ourselves before God, He will lift us up in due season
2. Daniel's expectations from king Belshazzar: Daniel was not interested in the gifts the gift promised to give anyone that could read and interpret the writing on the wall. He recounted to the king who king Nebuchadnezzar was and God endowed with riches and power but he misused it. His glory was taken from him and was driven; his heart was turned to the heart of beast. With all this, Belshazzar refused to learn from his father's mistake. As a child of God, are there anything you are doing that is against God's ordnances? The Lord will give you the grace to retrace your steps back to Him in Jesus name. Daniel led him to the history of the kingdom and what he failed to realize. Belshazzar failed to accept the supremacy of God although he knew about it. He also failed to honour God. He failed to acknowledge that God is no respected of a person and that power belongs to God. He failed to acknowledge that promotion comes from God ( Psalm 75: 6). He failed to realize that pride goes before a fall (Proverbs 26: 18). His father failed to godly counseling (Daniel 4: 29 - 31).
3. The writings, interpretations and the aftermath: Daniel was able to read the writings and gave its interpretations (Daniel 5: 25 - 31). That night, the king died untimely. You will not die untimely in Jesus name. Daniel was honoured because he had the mind of God.
During this pandemic, you are the one to tell people to repent and come back to God as a child of God. Have you not gone on holiday? God is watching. How is our fellowship towards God? The Lord will help us all in Jesus name. Let's search our ways and come back to God. Belshazzar did not have the opportunity to repent and he died. Are we not giving priorities to our business more than God? If as a believer, your spiritual life weighed by God, what will it weigh? Let's ask ourselves. Knowledge has increased. How do you use this knowledge? The world may be changing but His standard does not change.
How do we handle the work of soul-winning? This is very important to God. The world is engrossed with worldliness and atrocities. They may not listen to you but God has commanded you to tell them. Somebody was asked the reason he was preaching and he said it help him to believe what he has already believed. If you don't preach the word, there is tendency to go back to the world. Do you follow-up those that are weak in the household of faith? Do you encourage them. Let's intercede for our country; our Jerusalem. Honour God with your time and resources.
Repent and turn to God. Don't end it the way Belshazzar did. Even though he know that something is avoidable but went ahead in the part of destruction.
Prayer.
Lord, I come to you, have mercy on me.
Father, let me go extra mile with you.
Father, help to learn from the mistakes of others.
From today, Lord I will not be ashamed of you. Amen

Topic: Know this for your own good
Bible Reading: Job 5:17 - 27
"Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole. He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin. Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth. Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good."
God honours His word above His name. The word of God you are hearing this morning, please take it and it will transform your life in Jesus name (amen). Some people may know the word of God but may not benefit them. This shall not be your portion in the name of Jesus Christ. In the book of Jeremiah 29: 11 - 13. The thought of God towards you is a thought of peace and not of evil to give you a desired end. This same thing is replicated in 3 John v 2. God wants all round prosperity for you. Today, you will know the thought of God for your life. In our key text, there are some benefits which are for children of God. He said you will laugh in times famine. That means you will not borrow. Instead, you will give to many nations. You will eat in plenty and satisfied and then praise the name of the Lord your God. From today, you will experience a new life in the name of Jesus Christ. It's a painful thing for a prince to be walking while the slave is on a horse. You will know your right in Jesus name.
Despite the fact that God loves you, His blessings are with some conditions. For example, in the book of Exodus 15 : 26
" And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee."
If you do your part, he will fulfill his promises.
Conditions for Receiving God's Blessings
1. You need to hearken diligently to His voice. When you hear the word of God, you don't say it belongs to old lifestyle i.e. old religion. The word of God is life. The word of God is Spirit. You need to hearken. Listen to His voice. Give ear to His warnings and pray.
2. Do what is right in His sight. Don't say 'I will do whatever pleases me'. You are not the owner of yourself. Hear what the Bible says in John 15 : 5 " . . . for without me, ye can do nothing". You need to do what is right in His sight. When the word of God is coming to you, you need to say "God, here is your servant"
3. Give hears to His commandment. All the instructions of God, you need to listen to them.
4. Keep all His status. Keep all His instructions. The grace of God will be sufficient for us in Jesus name.
If will follow His instructions, He will put none of the diseases which He put upon Egyptians upon you. He is our healer. As of old, He still heals. If you have any ailment in your body, the Lord will heal you in Jesus name. We need to give heed to all His instructions and it is for our own good.
Attributes of Our God
He is a mighty God. If you do His will, He will lift you up. If you know the power of God and follow Him, you will cling to Him, do His will and hearken to His instructions.
Isaiah 40 : 28 - 31. He is unsearchable.
He is the everlasting father, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He sits on the throne and no one can challenge His authority. He plants and remove kings. His judgement are unsearchable. He has power to save, deliver, protect.
King's Declaration About this God
Daniel 3 : 26 - 28. After much treat to the children of God, the king knew that the three Hebrews are servants of the Most High. The king called Him the Most High. He has power to change the king's order. The king Nebuchadnezzar also said He lives forever. His Dominion is an everlasting dominion and His kingdom is from generation to generation. Kings of the world have testify.
When you know this God, you will have confidence. When there is confidence, you will not be afraid of the witches and wizards. From today, you will delight in God.
How to Access these Blessings
A lot of blessings were written in our Bible text for today. These blessings are for you. Quiet a number of people do not know the promises of God for them just like the brother of the prodigal son. Jesus became poor so that through His poverty, you can become rich. As you know your right, you shall rejoice in the goodness and joy of the Lord.
1. Know Him sincerely. Have you given your life to Christ?
2. Serve Him. You need to serve Him even after you have know Him.
3. Walk in His precept. Be steadfast, unmovable, always abound in the work of the Lord. Don't give up for anything no matter what is happening.
4. Obey His commandment.
5. Follow His precept.
6. Trust Him.
7. Proclaim Him. Tell others of His goodness and wonderful love.
Pitfalls to Avoid
1. If you have known Him, don't backslide. If you have not known Him, don't procrastinate.
2. Don't share His glory with anybody. If God is using you, don't share His glory.
3. Don't undermine His power to heal and to deliver.
4. Do not insult God. Some kings have insulted God and have seen its repercussion (Daniel 5 : 1 - 30)
1cor 10 : 1 - 12 admonishes us that the word of God is written for our admonition. I plead with you, wherever you are, if you have not given your life to Christ, accept Him as your Lord and saviour.

Prayer
Help me not to deviate from your commandment, Lord.
Father, give me the grace to hearken to your word. I will know Your word for my own good
Lord, let your word come to pass in my life
Father, don't let me continue walking in disobedient to Your instructions
