Bachelor Party Weekend in Fairplay, Colorado for bachelor Jesse Wood. I consider myself lucky to have you all as friends. I had a freaking blast with you guys!
This past weekend, I learned that it's good to see for oneself the things that are much larger than you- the irresistible forces that drive our very existence.
We humans pale in comparison when going head to head with any force of nature. The mountains of Fairplay, Colorado tower over us with dominance. The ocean will suck you under in an instant if it decides it feels like it.
Likewise, we are just as powerless when it comes to our need for connection. Friendship, Love, any sort of emotional closeness or intimacy- these are just as formidable as the mountains or the ocean, and they demand respect.
"Touched" is a song about touch deprivation, both of the physical and emotional kind. It's the longing to be inspired or moved by something, to have some sort of romantic experience with someone, or maybe even a simple hug would suffice. When put in conflict with these needs, we simply do not stand a chance.
There's no way around it. We need each other.

Next Saturday kicks off Mini Tour 2023 with a show at at 6 PM! It is likely that even more dates will be added soon!
Why is it called Mini Tour? Cause that's the first thing I thought of and I thought I'd try not overthinking for once. Let's see how that goes!

My song "More Than Me" comes out in twelve days. Me and are going into the studio this tuesday to lay down a couple of last minute tracks.
I'm happy to say that I've finally gotten this song to a place where I feel it communicates what I have always meant for it to communicate, after literally four years of rearranging and re-workings (among many other things of course 😁)

Isn't this what it's all about?
The gigging has been great. Cutting my musical teeth at all these different bars and restaurants, I've learned a lot about myself as not only a musician and performer, but as a human being.
And I love it when the unexpected occurs, like last Friday when I was joined by my friend Brando, seen here killing it on the Cajon.
This is part of how I decide what the songs I play, be they covers or originals, need as they progress and get recorded/performed. Performing them again and again allows me to connect with the material on a deeper level, which is an immensely important part of being a musician and artist. It's a process, it takes time, but I know it's gonna be worth it.

Nowhere man ✌
When an older and more experienced member of a music scene tells you "Nice set, kid," it feels like a rite of passage.
The artist showcase at the Outpost last Friday night was the most fun I've had since November 2019, the last time I played live. Huge thank you to all the friends and family who who came out, you guys really were the best audience I've had so far. Met a lot of new friends as well! I'll see you all again soon
Right now I'm focusing on making a home studio (which I'll be giving some updates on) as well as gearing up to do more live performances as places begin to loosen covid restrictions. I'll be posting more frequently than I have been recently, I just needed some time away from social media to carefully plan out my next moves. Now that I've done that, I'm ready to do some recording and gigging
