Fun weekend at The National Sports Collectors Convention Inc. Tristar Productions, added two more to the , Frank Thomas & Hawk Harrelson. Hawk invited Mas to try on his ring and take a pic!
I don't know why I waited so long to make these, now it's all I want to do. Here's the first version. Sorry Breanna Sylvester, these are gonna be scattered all over very soon.
I wasn't able to make it in person to Wings and Rings, but Aaron Rowand was added to the White Sox big board. Thank you The Collectors Cave!
Next stop is The National Sports Collectors Convention Inc. / Tristar Productions for The Big Hurt & Hawk.
We met Ozzie Guillen at Catch last night and he was as cool & friendly as you'd expect him to be. Thank you The Collectors Cave!
It actually turned out to be a productive Sunday in the shop. It was a long time coming, but I was able to start the Chicago Blackhawks logo & tossed in a different Chicago White Sox logo for the Ozzie Guillen piece I'm working on.
Last picture…framed and done. 🔥🔥

Perfect signature from HB. I added a baseball for size reference, it’s a 4’ long beast. Double frame coming up, then making one for Guillen to sign in May.

Harold Baines is doing a public signing at the Baseball Card Exchange tomorrow, so I came up with this. Once it's signed, i'll give it a proper frame & top coat.

Found this on my workbench today. Sadie the Sweetheart.
I needed a break from my current project so I threw this together. I know wants one of these.
Bre and I are at the Crete-Monee High School craft show today & tomorrow. We’re in the gym, booth F16. Stop by and say hi!
White Sox version 2 nearing completion. Regulation size home plate (17") w/raised logo & Chicago stars in a few different color combos. Beautiful.
She still has a month to go until 6, but Sadie wanted some pics before I dropped the number at its new home. Breanna Sylvester
I have a Ukranian-born colleague who has been working tirelessly sending daily shipments of aid into the region. I wanted to see if I could get a smile out of him, so I built him the Ukrainian flag w/the coat of arms carved in the middle. I'm happy to say that it worked - even if ever so briefly. If you have some items available for donation, please consider Support Ukrainians in Chicagoland. Visit their page to see which items are most in need at this time.
First draft of Sox & Bears - mostly MDF with some maple & padauk thrown in. I think i'll put a frame around it and then experiment w/different wood species for round 2.
Starting playing around with a new tool - these aren't for sale yet, but I'll have something very soon along with other related items.
Hey Dale Banicki, you should grab one of these for everyone in the SPD.
I hired local to assist in the flag assembly process. 🇺🇸
The last of the flags sold out this morning, but I'm making more beginning this week - lmk if you're interested. With the frame it's about 14.5" x 27.5" (2" thick & 15lbs). Constructed using the Oak from our family property in Michigan - they're heavy and built solid. $150 each.
🇺🇸
Finishing up the last of the flags today. We'll be at the Crete Country Christmas craft fair from 9am-3pm tomorrow, 12/04, with many handmade gifts to choose from! Also, Breanna Sylvester agreed to sit with me all day and discuss different wood species. Stop by & say hi!

I’m in the middle of making some yard/cornhole free-standing drink holders. This pic is all I have to show so far, but these are shaping up to be very cool.
Thanks again to for the opportunity to work with you on ’s ! Your vision was amazing & I’m humbled to have been a part of it. And, of course, thank you to for making it all look great!
Richard needed his little buddy.
I’m making some free-standing yard drink holders, but it reached a boring phase and I needed a new task. I decided this would clear my head.
This was the first cutting board I created and it's still one of my favorites in the house. It's a simple design, but it's solid & that walnut heartwood/sapwood variation is A+
It's been a while, but I want to get back to making these flags again soon. They're created using the natural wood colors - no paint or stain needed. Once oiled, the Purple Heart can take on a blue hue & Padauk supplies the red tone. Cherry or Maple can be used for the "white".
Going through some old projects...this was a sign I made for my newborn nephew's room.
