The North Country Trail exits the State Forest at Kalkaska Road. A nearly four-mile road walk winds past the fairgrounds and through the heart of Kalkaska, exiting town on County Road 612, with the road walk continuing past Blue Lake and Log Lake, and re-entering the Pere Marquette State Forest.

Looking to fish? Manistee lake is 860 acres in size. It is approximately 18 feet deep at its deepest point. When fishing, anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye and Yellow Perch.

You could be within walking distance to Sands Park. There is not only a swimming area but a play structure and picnic area. It also is home to the only boat launch on the lake.

This home has been a labor of love for our family. It was purchased at a tax auction five years ago. This spring at supervision of our boss (pictured below) we proceeded to make it a functional home.
