The American Selfie 🫡
a view worth every step ⛰️
2024 Paris Olympic Games have finished now and I am truly honored to have been a part of it. From meeting the best athletes in the world to spending time with loved ones in a beautiful city, this experience was the highlight of my athletic career. Coming from a country where badminton is seen as “not a real sport”, I felt for the first time a sense of pride and exhilaration when I heard a full audience chant “USA, USA”! I’m so grateful to have discovered these new feelings here in Paris. It was also a dream come true to see highlights of our match being featured on big channels and just getting more recognition for the sport in America.
I am overwhelmed with the positive messages I received, thank you to every one of you. Thank you to my coaches; Naoko for coming with us and Tony for guiding me for more than 15 years. Thank you to my partners Jennie and Joshua for believing in us. And last but not least, thank you Mom for supporting my untraditional career path and for being the greatest mother to me ❤️

Special post to this girl. Thank you for coming to support me and for putting up with me 🥰
Finished my first Olympic match against the reigning Olympic champion, losing 11-21, 14-21. Let’s keep fighting! Truly an amazing crowd too, thank you for all the support everyone ❤️
Ready to get things started here in Paris! Although we’re coming in as underdogs, I can promise I’m going to fight for every point even if the score isn’t close. Gotta remind ourselves we are playing the best in the world (especially Group D Men’s Doubles 🤣) and it’s because we’ve overcome so many obstacles to reach this stage!
One final push 💪
One final push…
One smash at a time 🏸
2023 BWF tournaments have finally concluded for us. Thank you to specifically my coaches and for always supporting us. Thank you to my partners .yuan.58 and for their constant hard work. Thank you to for equipment and to all my friends and family who remind me to not lose sight of enjoying the moment. Next up for me and Jennie is Malaysia Open starting January 9!
🥈 at the Pan American Games
As heartbreaking as our losses were in this major event, for every loss there is an opportunity for a lesson to be learned. Especially coming from a relatively weaker region in the world of badminton, I don’t doubt there are many more tough losses up ahead. As former world #1 tennis player Billie Jean King put it, “Losing doesn’t define you. It’s how you handle losing that defines who you are.” So to both my partners, let’s keep our chins up while we lose our way to success. We will come back stronger each time 🏆
Into pre-quarters here at Japan Open! We will be playing the most recent US Open winners on July 27. Thank you for the support and kind messages everyone!
🇨🇦 🇺🇸 North American Tour done. Jennie and I have now broken into the top 30, being one step closer to my dream of putting USA doubles into the top 20. Now off to Japan for my very first Super 750 event!
As you can tell, I was very happy to play against my idols 😁
Although we didn’t get the gold in the Maldives International Challenge, I got to have a once in a lifetime experience at an island resort thanks to my girlfriend. She’s been nothing but supportive of me during the tournament as well. I’m happy with the progress and growth that happened this tournament with Jennie and Josh, we will come back stronger and smarter!

It was a week full of ups and downs but happy to have pulled through in the end for mixed doubles! Thank you to my partner , my equipment sponsor , my teammates, my coach , and my club ! Shoutout to .yuan.58 for coaching us in the semis and finals. We’ll get them next time in doubles.
Now onto Mexico this week for another.
Experienced my first World Championships here in Tokyo. I’m quite disappointed in myself as I did not adjust to the venue’s draft well. We lost 14-21, 14-21 to the World Ranked 32 Chinese pair. However, I feel myself growing stronger with my training and will only work harder from here.
Thank you to and for your support, thank you to friends and teammates for your encouraging words, and to for providing us with the best equipment.

Unfortunately, we had to retire mid-match in the finals due to a persistent injury. Hoping for .yuan.58’s speedy recovery. Thank you coach .badminton92 for coaching us this week.
Congratulations Luis and Job for an excellent result. We’ll come back better next year 👍

Random clips from our mixed doubles matches this week in Mexico featuring a real bird in the last one 🐦
This tournament really tested me mentally. After getting food poisoning the night of my flights and not getting to practice much because of it, along with having to pull out of mens doubles at the last second, I honestly felt physically defeated and unprepared to play this tournament. However, my luck turned around quickly and we were actually able to play some really good badminton this week. Jennie and I got our biggest career upset so far against a powerful, strong team from Germany and had a 3-set final against another great pair from Japan. Thank you for taking care of me while I was sick and my teammates for cheering! And , Coach , , and my mom for unconditional support
When I was young I was poor, but after years of hard work I am no longer young
