This is my FLER low-line Dressing Table that maintains its original retailer’s order / material ticket fortunately stapled onto the back of the unit .
I have the original mirror that’s goes with this as well as a second model currently being used as a desk that has the much longer legs .
Always loved these and it’s nice to see that this one was sold by Clauscen & Co at there former retail site at 131 Burke Street Melbourne .
Interesting to see that Clauscen & Co list the detail of order as : 1 DTS20 G Myrtle .
I wonder if DTS20 is FLER’s model number for these dressing tables or perhaps their own internal model number for records ?
Either ways it’s nice to have it own there :)

Sanding this early 50’s drop down desk is no easy feat . The curly oak hardwood is deep grained making progress slow . This piece has also been stored outside by previous owner also making sanding the weather affected top even more time consuming . It’s just time however …I will get there 👍
I am using my two trusty Festool sanders being an ETS 150/3 EQ and the smaller RO 90 DX FEQ with both its round and triangle heads . Both attach to my CTM MIDI I Vac . There is also manual card scrapping as well as manual hand sanding . This piece needs all of my experience and patience to prepare for refinishing .
The Most important of all my equipment , even with a top range Festool sanding system is my 3M Facemask . It’s not just timber dust that you need to be cautious about there’s also old paint finish dust that is also very dangerous so please folks …always use a proper dust mask when sanding👍 Every-time 💚

Many hours of work completed by expert hands required to restore these beautiful chairs to my clients specifications which required full timber frame refinish following a few repairs using 0 % VOC Hard European made Hard Wax Oils over the carefully prepared timber frame .
Robert & his team expertly reupholstered Anna’s chairs with her preferred choice of and the dry & aged leather arm straps and leg support strapping was reproduced using quality leather and new brass fittings by Malybyrne Saddlery !
