I’m outside in these streets making things happen.

I’ve had to endure work discrimination because of the hair that grows out of my head and it that discrimination was accepted where I used to work.
States like West Virginia that have rejected the Crown Act are often influenced by a lack of understanding and acknowledgment of this form of racial discrimination.
By advocating for the Crown Act, we all push for a more inclusive and equitable society where individuals are judged by their character and abilities, not the texture or style of hair that naturally grows out of our head and cannot be punished at work and at school for wearing our own hair. Will you take a stand by supporting the Crown Act? Will you sign the petition to end hair discrimination?

I remember when I took both of these photos! The first one was right before I was being sworn in at Fort Dix. My college roommate Glenda came with me and took the picture. The second picture was taken when I was at Squadron Officer School and I was extremely exhausted! Everything I learned in the United States Air Force, I still use today. Most importantly, the camaraderie I share with those who have served. Thank you to all who served every single day and especially on Veterans Day.
