David Wessel for NH House
I am a candidate for the New Hampshire House (Strafford County District 3 - New Durham and Middleton)
New Durham & Middleton Will Now Have a Voice in Concord!
In recent years, those of us living in New Durham & Middleton have shared representation in the New Hampshire House with larger towns; Middleton was paired with neighboring Milton and New Durham with Strafford. In the new congressional districting map, we will continue to have two representatives: one that we share with Strafford and Barrington - and (hooray) one that will give us our very own member of the House.
I believe the one representative we can call our own should be a fresh, new voice – but one with deep, relevant experience in government; one with a track record of balancing fiscal responsibility with social responsiveness; one who believes in building community rather than creating an us-versus-them mentality.
For those who do not yet know me, I am a former community college administrator and Mayor of a small town, a retired Foreign Service Officer who served American citizens and our national interests abroad, and currently work part-time as a Special Investigator for the U.S. Department of Defense. In New Durham, I have served on the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustments as well as the Advisory Capital Improvement Plan Committee – and am currently a member of the Budget Committee.
I’m running with the goal to represent all the residents of Middleton and New Durham. It is time NH House members put aside partisan rhetoric and work together to do the job they’re elected to do – serve the interests of all Granite State residents. I will try my best to do just that and would very much appreciate your support. Thank you very much!
I am posting my link to ActBlue for those who may still wish to contribute. Thanks in advance!

I just gave to David Wessel! Show your support with a contribution.
In recent years, those of us living in the towns of New Durham and Middleton have been, to be frank, marginalized. We have shared representation in the NH House with the town of Strafford – a larger community with which we do not even share a border. It should be recognized that Strafford has a much larger voting population than we do … and our voice has been effectively muted. In the new districting map, we will continue to have two representatives: one that we share with Strafford, Barrington, and Middleton – and (hooray!) one that we will have as our own member of the House, representing only Middleton and New Durham. For the first time in several years, our two towns will have their very own voice. True, this representative will be only one of 400 voices in Concord. But at least we’ll have one! I believe the one representative that we can call our own should be a fresh, new political voice; one with deep, relevant experience in government; one with a track record in balancing fiscal responsibility with social responsiveness; one who believes in building community rather than creating an us-vs-them mentality. That description pretty much wraps up who I am, why I’m running for office, and why I would very much appreciate your support.
