Rob Stenzinger
Hi, I'm Rob Stenzinger, UX coach and maker.
Sketching cartoon animals in clip studio paint. Drawing is so many things to me. I sometimes forget to appreciate those things. When I made this last night I felt how focused and calm I get when I draw.
My youngest had a school assignment to illustrate a book cover inspired by one of the first books you ever read that you care a lot about. She chose Broxo by Zack Giallongo . Thank you Zack, our whole family loves your work!
Made up a peanut sauce garbanzo and greens stir fry and crispy bbq tofu for lunch.
Carving a pumpkin at a campground boo bash while dressed as dragons 👻 🎃
Thirteen eyes. Eight tentacles. All those eyes and grabbing appendages yet still not good at finding and seizing the moment. This monster's monsters are planning and scheduling.
This is a creature who is a living adventure map. Though it's made of don't think about it too deeply because thoughts go from wow this is a whole living space to - hey does that mean adventuring is being digested - kinds of thoughts. Star Trek might call it an energy being that you are inside its mind. I like that option. View this character on the safe side of the story implication caution tape.
Sketching with water colors and pen. Playing with patterns so it’s not a concrete subject, though to my eyes I see a magical creature. Doesn’t have a name only giving a sort of warm energy.
A new poster work in progress. Tapestry feeling map of sorts. I'll also probably use this as a piece of art in the game Word Turtle Island.
Playing with texture and color.
Showed this one to and our kiddos to see what they thought before positing. Kate said it was pretty, one kiddo said it looked fun and cartoony, the other said it looks like a person was seeing kaleidoscopic vision as they were loosing consciousness while a creature was singing to them.
What could I write to add to what they said? It's another in my series of circular patterns, happens to be focused on one creature instead of many. Probably would make a good coloring page.
Imagine a tall mechanized suit but for a buff humanoid turtle. That's a Turtle Guardian. One of the many creatures that go missing before the beginning of the game I'm making called Word Turtle Island.
Reflected magical otherworldly landscape.
Knows the meaning of the sound the words “chuck it”.
Pattern drawings I made this week. These are a bit more animal symbol, focused and also might make some interesting coloring pages.
A couple of pattern drawings I made this week. They seem like they might work as interesting coloring pages.
Mountain landscape. Might color later, also thinking it might become a new page in a coloring book project.
Good hair day.
Sentient crystalline sword. So many things I draw become a character to me when they stand for and want something. This sword wants equality.
I’m a dork who draws cute stuff plus any excuse is fine to say I love you. Gave these to and our kiddos. I also get it that holidays get so corporate and are a mixed bag at best for some folks for lots of reasons. This photo and my thoughts are my valentine to you. Hope you are making a good day happen.
Designing a poster for the video game I’m working on. It helps me clarify some of the marketing stuff and I like making posters. It’s fun to be able to print something at 13 x 19“ as part of the process to decide what I’m going to improve next.
These two seem to like to wear matching stuff. Seasonal outfits made by .
Made a set of stamp brushes. 3d printed based on silhouettes I made as 2d vector art turned 3d.
Be it doodlins or pumpkins, forever imprinted on sprits, skulls, and fire.
3-D printed Grogu, Groot, and turtle getting some acrylic paints. Early in the process. Both for them and for me since this is the first set of 3-D prints I’ve actually painted on.
Sure I could do a build Word Turtle Island for android from my desktop Godot installation. Then thought why not try to build it directly on my android tablet since they released the Godot editor as its own app which is kind of awesome.
Sometimes I’ll pass by a sign, take a photo because I know it’s going to cross my mind later wondering. Cotton candy ice cream burrito and cotton candy Grogu here. Not typically a guilt feeling eater but would feel something like it I guess in either case.
Working on the next stage of the arcade cabinet art. My plan is to fully print out and prototype with assembling a mural from smaller paper sections that I’ll actually hang on my arcade cabinet. Once I make adjustments based on what I learned from that I’ll order the art actually printed on vinyl.
Drawing with rectangles works great in a bunch of apps, though favorites are Squid Notes on Android and InkPad on iOS. I wish both of those apps were available on multiple platforms cause each is so good at different things. Except for drawing with rectangles which they both are awesome at.
Continuing posting every day as a September creative challenge. Most of the posts are here on my main insta, an easy familiar option. For me that is the challenge on top of the challenge. I know the familiar work of creating and sharing. Yet I also have a long standing habit that both helps me and holds me back. I can avoid the post all day then focus for a few minutes and get something done. A useful tool to have. But it does mean I reach for the options I'm most comfortable with. So it doesn't help with building new habits. I don't want to rekindle a last minute homework habit. I'm hoping to do some new stuff this month too. I'll keep at it and see what I figure out and try to meet the challenge behind the challenge.
