I didn't hit my income goal for 2021.

Not even close.

And when I think about my year, thank GOD that I didn't. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I was in a terrible place mentally and emotionally for large portions of 2021, and towards the end I was utterly unrecognizable, even to myself.

I let my priorities slide.

I let my vision for my life and business slip out of focus.

At first just slightly, while the realities of everyday human life took a front seat.

Then, little by little, they became words on a page. Cute numbers written on a dry erase board that held no real meaning to me.

Soon, they slipped from memory altogether.

The thing about losing yourself is that you rarely notice its happening. A lot like falling in love, it’s sneaky and can happen completely without warning.

The people, situations, and habits that soon engulfed my every day reality were at best distracting, and at worst, completely misaligned.

Maybe the work of improving myself and my life became too tedious. Maybe subconsciously, I was exhausted and just yearned to exist in a way that was easy and fun.

For people like me, though - the uber-driven, ambitious, idealistic and growth minded - "easy" and stagnant is anything but.

You can slip into it like a cozy pair of pajamas - relax into it as your mind rejoices in just *finally* turning off.

But internally, deep in the recesses of your psyche and your soul - you're dying. Beneath that calm and lazy surface is pure chaos, as the guilt accumulates and the anxiety builds.

Because you KNOW what it's like to live in a truer, higher state. Lit up by joy and purpose and accomplishment.

The anxiety builds until suddenly you have a heaviness in your chest and a fogginess to your thoughts that you can't explain.

For me, by NYE this anxiety was at an unbelievable level. My moods were unpredictable and there was an ever-present feeling in my chest that can only be described as chaos.

I was so far out of alignment, and had so abandoned the purpose that drove me, that I was physically ill.

A series of bad decisions and unfortunate situations in my personal life was the final push off a cliff that sent my tumbling down like a proverbial rag doll, hitting the rocks and flailing to grab onto anything to stop the descent.

Now, if I had generated the wealth and outcomes I had set out to while I was in THAT state??

I never would have had a reason to fix it.

I never would have taken a long look at my self and my life and finally realized - oh s**t. What the f**k have I created??

There are a million quotes and pieces of advice to insert here on manifesting and being in your highest vibe/self to do it.

All that matters is to realize -

Thank God I didn't get what I asked for.
Thank God I realized why.
Thank God I snapped out of it, and had the tools to fix it.

A couple weeks ago, I suddenly found my footing in a sense and was the happiest I've felt in months. I meditated and journaled and felt the joy of inspiration that was everything I needed.

And I'm grateful for all of it - and what lies in wait for me this year.

My goals aren't $250K of income like last year or # # #% growth in my business.

They center around joy. Around finding the absolute best version of myself - and around the person I need to become to create everything I truly want.

And I can't wait. ❤️

This week is one of redemption and recovery - and most importantly forgiveness. Be kind to yourself for whatever you did and didn't accomplish. Be grateful for the things that eluded you, and look at what you can change so they flow easily to you this year.

This morning, I sat down and journaled about 2021 and 2022. It was an intensely emotional exercise, mostly because just a few weeks ago my vision of 2022 looked completely different.

At the end of 2021, there were situations and people that suddenly cleared from my life. Some were completely unexpected, and some were long overdue. What I would be doing and where I would focus my time - all of it shifted.

My clear and joyful plans for the upcoming year were replaced by a sort of murky, blurry picture that I couldn't quite bring into focus.

It wasn't just what suddenly shifted out of my life - it was more than anything the weight of my own uncertainty left in its wake. It leaves you a little shook... a little distrusting of yourself… and a little less confident about all of the other decisions that lie ahead.

The questions on repeat for me the last few weeks have been - What do I truly even want? What do I *actually* want this year to hold???

Squinting through the murky haze, maybe I can make out the silhouette of future me - accomplishing unbelievable things, speaking to crowds of people, and playing with her kids.

Maybe what I see is her dedicating the year to hustling, to building and to finding out who she truly is. Maybe she's lying on the beach, blissfully in love and laughing until she cries.

Here's what I do know:

I know that I'll do the inner work I need to do, in order to become the person that I need to be. The person that accomplishes all of the lofty goals I set - and I’ll do it via therapy, meditation, and SO MUCH intentional learning.

I know that I'll create a legacy for my daughters, and set them up in every possible way that I can.

I don't want to set annoying "boss babe" type income goals for 2022. I already know that I'll (at least) double my income, I already know that I'll max out retirement savings, keep saving toward my dream home, and travel more than I ever have.

I know that I will dive into the lessons learned in 2021, and make sure that I use them to grow and to propel myself forward.

Other than that - it's all up in the air. I can't wait to experience everything headed my way - and I'm so open to all of it.

Even if your future looks a little murky, and a little uncertain - lean into it. Trust that whatever this year holds for you, it will be beautiful, expansive, and joyful above all else.

Here's to laughter and connection and lifelong memories, even ones created in fleeting paradises.

This week, I had a huge decision to make.

It was literally one that I didn't see coming, like so many things in our lives. The difference in this one is that I called it in - with my demand for a more and more and more fulfilling life, career, and with it more and more money flowing towards me and into my account.

Nonetheless, the decision was one that had me in knots because it was so tied up in the core of who I am, who I want to be, and the impact I want to make in this world.

When the anxiety had sufficiently brought me to my metaphorical knees, I sat down at midnight (exhausted) and said something to myself that I do at LEAST once a week - F**k this s**t.

I am a powerful, intelligent woman and this is what we're NOT gonna do right now.

I contemplated a pros and cons list, which I quickly dismissed as utterly useless.

I already knew everything I needed to know - it wasn't about anything that simple. It never is. When we begin to know ourselves more, though - that's when we can see what is truly bubbling beneath the surface.

I went back to my absolute favorite thing to do, that I realized I had been completely neglecting. If there is anything you are struggling with…. I'd highly suggest it, btw….

I started writing out my money mantras, and my “I am “ statements. Within minutes, I was centered, refocused on my vision and on my own unstoppable badassery, and the knots in my stomach vanished.

*Money is easy to make and flows to me from all directions.*

*Whatever amount of money that I choose to have is always available to me.*

*I always make the right decision.*

Calm and focused and reinstilled with the confidence I so needed, my now blank mind gave me exactly what I needed next. Something I had seen somewhere weeks before, that had struck me as important at the time, though I wasn't sure why:

Don't drink from every cup presented to you - that's how you get poisoned.

Boom. Mind…. Blown.

Just like that, right there written plainly on the pages in my own handwriting was every answer that I needed.

I had gotten so wrapped up in the excitement of a new opportunity (and the stream of income that came with it) that I was being pulled incredibly off track.

I was straying from my own mission, and more importantly from an unshakeable faith in myself. That faith in myself is what has *truly* shifted my life.

The degrees, the corporate jobs, the "pat on the back" accomplishments - those had only carried me as far as a middle class, quiet existence. They had only carried me as far as I expected to be carried - and no farther.

*We get exactly what we demand for our lives.*

We get exactly what we believe we deserve.

Anything more and we panic. We push it away and we rationalize why it wasn't right for us in the first place. You were perfectly happy before that….. Right???

It occurred to me in that moment, staring at that page, that the opposite is also true. We accept situations and opportunities that are so out of alignment for us that they threaten the very design for our lives.

All we have is our intuition. Our faith. And the confidence in ourselves.

For me, the decision was easily made after I stepped back and looked at what I wanted and where I would eventually go.

Sometimes, that means saying no. It means having the knowledge to put your long-term goals in front of a short-term payday.

***It means realizing that not all money is the money that you called in - and it is definitely not worth your outstandingly precious time if it doesn't serve the ultimate goal.***

Sometimes - that cup being presented to you is poison disguised as elixir.

So - it was a pass for me. On a significant amount of money. Money that would have actually derailed my progress of becoming my highest self -

which is the only job that really matters.

I sat, reflecting on the sheer simplicity of it all. Regrounded, I smiled as the last mantra flowed from my soothed brain to the stroke of the pen on the page:

The more ME I am, the more wealth and opportunity flow into my life.

Kick the "you can be anything" lesson up a notch by encouraging your kids to dream, set real goals, and never doubt that they will reach them.

The road there will *never* be a straight line, and will rarely unfold in the way that we planned. This faith in themselves and the power of their thoughts is what will carry them past the point where others abandoned their dreams. 🧘‍♀️

Your silence can no longer be seen as anything but your betrayal of humanity. Your denial can no longer be seen as anything but your disregard for inequality. Your refusal to act can no longer be seen as anything but accomplice to hatred and violence.

There is no neutral here - you stand for justice or tyranny; equality or prejudice...

And your silence is deafening, brother.

I know how much easier it is to silent. To think that it doesn't concern you. To say that we "don't know the whole story".

To complain about peacefully taking a knee, about non-violent protests, about activists fighting for a better world, about rioting, about the eventual calls to violence after decades of the same atrocities against humanity continue.

I know how easy it is to roll your eyes while I try to explain the conversations I have to have with my daughter, to make sure she doesn't leave for a run with headphones on and never come home.

To make sure she understands that police are never to be seen as the enemy, but that there is ALWAYS to be an overabundance of caution.

I would invite you to rethink your silence after you imagine that you were the one to just watch your child senselessly die.

You could have been the one who watched in horror as the life escapes the eyes of the child you've loved, raised, cuddled, laughed with, and watched grow into an adult.

Even worse? All while others stood idly by and did NOTHING.

And as you scream into the void for them to feel your pain, they turn a blind eye... and life goes on much the same as it was before.

We are ALL in an inescapable network of mutuality - what happens to one, happens to all. There is no more time for your silence.

Speak up, speak out, and stay in prayer - not only for black lives but for the police force as they tackle a systemic problem that has overshadowed the brave and fearless work of so many others as they protect us.

This is a vicious cycle for most of us all the way through adulthood unless we learn to take a hard look at what we spend and where we make mistakes.

Without control of your finances (and a good dose of brutal honesty with yourself), you'll never create the wealth you want.

As with everything, learning can and should start early!!

💡💡Encourage your kids to keep a money diary for a week! ✏ Grab a tiny notebook and write down everything you spend and all the money you earn from chores, neighbors, etc.

After the week is up, have them review it to see where most of the money went, and think about whether those decisions allowed them to save what they should have. Don't have savings goals? 𝙒𝙝𝙮 "𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮" 𝙬𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝘼𝙉𝙔𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂.

If you have, cheers to doing what so many haven’t - learning more about personal finance so you can reach that illusive status of “Wealthy” (however you personally describe that - having a million in the bank or building generational wealth so your kids’ kids won’t want for anything.)

But here’s the thing. Having a decent level of financial literacy does just that - it gives you a base understanding of money, of investing, and of the possibilities. It gives you enough to know what you SHOULD be doing without question.

So why won’t it change anything about how your life actually turns out?

It doesn’t change YOU.

It doesn’t change your mindset.

Your beliefs.

Your fears.

Your insecurities.

Your view of the world and the “rules” the world functions by....

And therefore, It doesn’t change what you will actually DO. 🧐

Does it give you more anxiety about making the wrong decisions? Sure.

Does it stress you out about the purchase you made that the tiny voice inside of you TOLD you not to?! Undoubtedly.

So why bother, right? Maybe ignorance truly is bliss.

Here’s the short answer - you shouldn’t.

If you are only going to address the surface level knowledge or what you’re able to simply memorize.... don’t bother.

Yes, knowledge is power. Short term, you may make better decisions, and you may stop doing absolutely ridiculous things like keeping money in a mattress, cool.

But when what you really want to change your life, and undo the years of damaged thinking and the years of forgetting who you truly are and what you are truly designed to be... the work is a little more complicated than that.

So - Why bother to change the way our very mind works, at its deepest darkest levels?
..(because I know you’re thinking ‘yeah, that sounds hard... I think I’mma just head out’)...

𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.

It is quite simply the keys to the kingdom.

The cheat codes...

the secret of success and the secret to winning this game.

It’s the level beyond the level that people don’t see, that they don’t access. It's the way we were meant to think and function on a much higher level than what most people do.

Let’s take an obviously extreme example to illustrate. Meet Ben - a middle-aged man that lives with his parents, spends most of his waking hours in a state of numbness (video games, TV, drinking or partying) because he feels like his life has been “hard” and “unfair”. Now, let’s look at the life of someone like Oprah. Well... not LIKE Oprah because no one is.... so let’s just compare that man to Oprah. Let’s put them in the same room, sitting on a couch together.

Even in this imaginary room, do you immediately feel the difference in energy that is coming from each of them?

Do you immediately see that they are NOT playing the same game, and definitely not with the same rules?

They might as well be two different species, each with total and utter lack of access to the other’s foreign way of thinking.

This extensively long example was meant to illustrate two things - Ben could “learn” about business, marketing, communications and digital media, and he would NEVER, not ever, be able to become the person Oprah is, or have a mind that works the way hers does.

Similarly, she could never understand why he makes the decisions he does - not really. She literally would not be able to replicate the mental processes that lead to that decision.

Because her programming simply won’t allow it.

Her brain, her subconscious, her very SOUL would not allow it.

Education is far more than knowledge. While knowledge is power, true control and consciousness - that is an art my friend, and limitless opportunity.

You cannot (or should not) build the foundation while only addressing the technical pieces. You have to address the underlying behaviors, beliefs, and pre-existing habits. You have to address everything mentioned above - the fears and insecurities and the emotional connection that you have to money.
..aka the energy that surrounds it all.

My goal over the last year has been address in myself exactly this. To learn and grow and do nothing short of completely rewire myself and address the faulty programming that’s been there for years, quietly pulling the strings.

The investments I am making right now? They aren’t only in more education, but more personal development. I am learning from experts in their fields like the extraordinary psychologist Dr. Shefali and the inspiring Claudia Chan.

I want to share that in a bigger way.

I want to drag as many of you along with me to a better life, and more importantly a heightened way of living and thinking. I want this for your children. I want this for the world. I want this for our future.

In the same way, I am not just building a company. What is happening below the surface is a movement.

Holistic education is what changes everything.

Our daughters (and us) need not only a financial education, they need personal development early and the confidence to harness their true power. They need to understand that they are fearfully and wonderfully made... and that their potential is truly limitless.

It’s what I intend to help create and foster as the new normal. For us all, the new normal starts right now, at home. It starts with us striving higher as women, and teaching our children to do the same.

So we can create the next leader that sets the bar.

That shatters expectations.

That exceeds anything ever done before.

That serves as the inspiration to another generation after her, creating endless ripples of change.

So, really, we’re quite simply aiming to change the world.

When we are swept away by this world, we are not conscious of ourselves, the world around us, the events unfolding - or the power we have. People can spend their entire life in this unconscious state, floating through life as everything happens TO them.

Obviously, it would be extraordinarily difficult to build anything lasting or meaningful in this manner. So it follows that the first step to living an extraordinary life is to wake up. W A K E U P and lift the fog hiding all of the best things from view. See clearly what is around you, in you, and available to you.

Imagine if you could have done that as a child. To still have the boundless energy and the endless curiosity, coupled with a deeper understanding of everything around you.

Imagine if that understanding had an extra two decades to develop – what that would have looked like. You can see it now in the children of (some) ultra-successful families. They are taught differently, they learn to think differently, and they frame the entire world and every single decision they have ever faced differently. That kind of advantage is impossible to quantify. While this is happening and developing, and empires are on the verge of being built with ease, the rest of us are leaving an okay job and going home to stare at a TV until it’s time to do it all again.

That life and cycle – THAT is insanity. That is a pure waste of God given talent and endless possibility. But without the higher level of consciousness and understanding, you can’t see your way there.

That is not the life we dream of for our children.

Mediocrity and boredom, regret and unhappiness. We hope that they have a beautiful, full life – full of friends and laughter, free of worry, and full of the options that financial freedom gives them. That life does NOT JUST APPEAR. That life does not just form and show up on your doorstep one day. You have to take the right steps, make better decisions, and do things that you’ve never done before. You have to discover an entirely new world and an entirely new mindset to process it.

This isn’t just for our children - this is for ourselves. We have to take a deep breath, calm our mind, and take an honest look at our own world. Our own mind. Then, ask ourselves -

What can I WAKE UP and change right now?? Then - actually change it.
