I promise you I haven't stopped baking! I've just started spending a lot more time looking at and daydreaming about vintage!

Whether I'm creating new things by repurposing the old, or photographing styled vignettes featuring my own pieces and those from my dad's shop (he's got quite the eye, since he's been dealing in vintage for over 40 years!) I'm still getting my art and creativity on!

So can you do me a solid and share my latest passion with me?

Follow if you're a fan of original art objects (like jewelry, clocks, furniture and vinyl record notebooks so far) and really sweet deals on really great vintage (this post features just a sample of what's on offer this weekend!)

I'll be posted up at the shop (located on the east side of Indy) on Saturday's from 10am to 6pm, and select Sundays from noon to 4pm!

Who knows - maybe if you DM me and let me know you're planning to stop by for a visit I'll have a few french macarons or some other equally-wonderous creation-of-the-moment on hand for us to enjoy!

Healthy breakkie with a side of sweet: banana walnut oatmeal muffins topped with a crunchy candied orange and ginger bits sugar mix.

Made them onscreen during what turned out to be a 7-hour 6 recipe stream. Forgot about adding the final pics to ig and discord, but definitely haven't forgetten to devour them for breakfast!

15/03/2021

I missed posting this in time for pi day. But, as with all things pie, better late than never!

Here's a quiche that borders on being a casserole, with sour cream substituted for the heavy cream.

This time around I used foil in lieu of parchment between the all-butter pie crust and pie weights when I blind-baked the crust. Maybe I finally crimped my pie crust just right, but I'm pretty sure the foil saved me from a case of the sads that usually comes with a slumped but otherwise nice and flakey crust!

This is a great Meatless Monday option since it's full of hearty sh*take mushrooms and gruyere cheese, as well as green onion, sautéed bell peppers, fresh thyme, and caramelized yellow onions.

Combine with a simple and fresh, lightly dressed salad and it makes a great brunch or brinner!

Going live on twitch at 11/11:30pm EST and turning these reishi chocolate cookies into a super-decadent dessert mashup. Should be a short (and sweet) stream tonight, and always delicious!

Every night is raviolo night! Until you run out of eggs! Then you make ravioli! Gonna have to revisit this recipe and try not to break any yolks in these egg-filled ravioli (3 out of 5 survived!) and have to get the cooking temp lower so I get a nice not-too-runny, not-too-cooked yolk. Not too bad for a first run-through recipe with on-the-fly ingredients!

Going live tonight on twitch tonight (11 / 11:30pm start) with a very ambitious plan. Will I get through all 6 recipes?? Is my internet service going to play nice tonight (or at least nicer than the last few streams)? Only one way to find out!

I'm also taking bets on how many eggs I use tonight. I've restocked, with 36+ eggs in the pantry. Join the chat and you'll be able to wager channel points! Win or lose, it's gonna be delicious!

Not bad for my 2nd ever souffle!

Photos from The Bakerie by Altliae's post 08/03/2021

Streamed last night, and streaming again tonight to finish up!

Indian spiced lentil burgers, a quick yogurt tahini sauce, plantain buns are going to get tweaked a bit more tonight. Plus gonna make a pan pizza using the overnight dough.

Lastly made baked oatmeal cups, with walnut, mango and plantain!

Tonight will be a shorter Just Chatting stream. Come chat and check out the new setup!

Livestream link in profile. Going to be going live at 11:30pm tonight!

Whipped up burgers (or really, alternative burgers) during the overnight livestream, in addition to the chocolate souffle!

Artichoke was my main inspiration (i.e. I had it in the pantry and didn't have any plans for it), so I went with a tweaked artichoke-white bean-quinoa burger recipe.

Topped it with honey roasted turkey, a slice of thick-cut bacon, and a quick last-minute sundried tomato mayo made with a few other additions. Added the lightly dressed salad just because.

Trying them again tonight, sans turkey, and with different topping(s) and condiment(s)!

In the process of setting up a discord to share recipes and tweaks and just chat with the community. Audio and video are still a work in progress, but steadily improving!

If you want to see or listen to the video, check out the channel on twitch (link in bio)!

First time making a souffle! Was pretty successful, and a nice option that's that french macarons. Also was the first time ever tasting a souffle, and it will not be the last!

Late-night / early morning livestream viewers helped me pick what egg-white based treat to make, and this was the one that won (also this was the one that I had enough ingredients on hand to make work!)

Next up will be a savory version. I'm thinking cheese, with a few additions thrown in?

15/02/2021

I had forgotten about the stuffed cookie dough I had in the freezer!

This version has pretzel chips, bacon, a nutty trail mix, mixed chocolate chips, and a toffee bits mix that baked into a carmel-toffee center.

Now that I only have 1 frozen cookie dough left, it's time to make another batch! Maybe I'll do a livestream? Visit my twitch page (link in profile) and lemme know if you'd be up for it!

Left this one in the oven just a tad bit too long, but it still offered up a crispy exterior with a soft interior. Made an excellent breakfast!

Resting up from spending Valentine's week/end in a kitchen by - what else - spending the afternoon in MY kitchen making lemon eclairs! But of course the range oven is out, so quarter sheet pans in a temperamental toaster oven it was. 2 batches of pate choux (and a run for fresh berries, more sugar and a 24 pack of eggs) later I tamed the beast and got some decent bakes. At least now my week-long craving has been satiated!
