2️⃣ Don’t skimp on healthy fats: Healthy fats are essential for good health. Some great vegan sources of healthy fats include avocado, nuts, and seeds. 🥑

3️⃣ Get enough vitamin B12: Vitamin B12 is essential for good health, but it’s only found naturally in animal products. Vegans should consider taking a B12 supplement or eating fortified foods like plant-based milks, breakfast cereals, and nutritional yeast.

4️⃣ Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables: A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is essential for good health, and it can help to ensure that you’re getting all of the vitamins and minerals your body needs to function properly.

5️⃣ Don’t rely too heavily on processed foods: While there are plenty of delicious vegan junk foods out there, it’s important to remember that they’re still junk food. Try to focus on whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, and save the processed stuff for occasional treats.

Vegan Banana Ice Cream Recipe:

HIGHLIGHTED INGREDIENT- 🍌

Bananas are rich in vitamin C, vitamin B6, and potassium, which are important for maintaining a healthy immune system, healthy brain function, and healthy blood pressure levels.

Ingredients:

4 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
1 tsp vanilla extract
Whatever toppings you want

Instructions:

🍦Peel and slice 4 ripe bananas into small pieces and freeze them for at least 2 hours.
🍨Once the bananas are frozen, place them in a blender or food processor with 1 tsp vanilla extract.
🍦Blend until the mixture is creamy and smooth. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything is blended evenly. (This process may take longer than you think it should but then all of a sudden, it will look like ice cream! 💥
🍨Once you have a smooth mixture, you can either serve it immediately. If it ends up being too thin because you added almond milk or something because you got too impatient while blending (🙋🏻‍♀️ that’s me), put it back in the freezer for 1-2 hours to thicken.
🍦Top with toppings of choice and enjoy your delicious vegan banana ice cream!

Fun fact: when my kids are super angry, I get them to use this breathing technique and it works to calm them every time.

That being said, getting my youngest (7) to do it is hilarious.
She gets so raging mad that she will finally try it and yell “there! I did your dumb breathing. Are you happy?!”

A couple more rounds and she’s like “okay, fine. It worked. I’m calming down.” 😂😂

But it calms her down enough that we can then talk through whatever is happening.

How to balance your gut?

I keep getting this question after my last post so here is a follow up for you of steps you can take right now!

👏 if your gut is not healthy, your body can’t absorb any nutrients.

If your body can’t absorb any nutrients… you are going to be lacking in essential vitamins and minerals.

You may see signs and symptoms such as:
Bloating
Acne
Gas
Weight fluctuations
Fatigue
Irritability
Sugar cravings.

Your very first step when starting your health journey, should be to balance your gut!

Let’s chat skin health and omega 3s! 📣

Studies have shown that omega 3s may:

-help protect against sun damage. Studies show that omega 3s may reduce the skins sensitivity to UV rays.

-reduce acne.

-hydrate skin and reduce red, itchy, flaky skin. One study showed that after 12 weeks of taking a 1/2tsp flax oil, there was an increase of hydration in the skin by 39%.

Take steps without hesitation.

What lights you up when you think about it?

Take the steps as if that version of you is already here.

Live in alignment of where you want to be and don’t worry about what’s going on around you. Who cares if someone doesn’t understand your path? Who cares if their path isn’t the same as yours? Take action before your brain talks you out of it. And take action even when you are scared.

Just think about how good it will feel. So do it anyways. And then take action again and again and again until the person of your dreams is you.

Day 5 of secret podcast is in the books and now it’s time to move on to the next step.
