Lukas met his little sister today!

Baby sister made her arrival via C-section at 34+6 yesterday, jan 12th at 2:30pm. 4lb8.5oz and 17.75" long! Lukas is officially a big brother! ❤️

We hope you guys had a very merry Christmas! ❤️

Yes you do, mama. 💕 Acknowledging that this was not how it was supposed to be does not make you weak or ungrateful. Acknowledging this gives your heart the space it needs heal and feel the duality of both grief and joy. And your heart is worthy of this care.

Lukey will be 3 tomorrow! He is the strongest little man I know and I am forever thankful I was chosen to be his mama ❤️

He will be spending the day under anesthesia for an MRI, We will be heading to UVA bright & early at 6am. But we celebrated both his & Liam’s birthdays(Dec 7th) this evening with family!

Lukas will be 3 on Monday! It has been a stressful year with a lot of scary moments where we didn’t know if he’d make it to this day.

He will spend his birthday under anesthesia for a MRI, but we have plans to celebrate with family on Sunday!

Lukas got to join us for little sisters growth scan today. He was such a good boy all day and even met some new friends in passing at the battle building. We love connecting with people who just “get it. “ ❤️

Little sis was officially diagnosed IUGR today, weighing in at 2lb6oz in the 8th percentile- so now we will have weekly ultrasound appointments. Prayers that she makes it earthside as a healthy little girl are appreciated 💗

A month ago Lukas was a very sick little boy who was losing weight, sleeping or screaming nonstop. Today his little face is getting round again, his bones aren’t showing through his skin anymore, and he’s back to making sounds, smiling & playing.

Forever thankful we chose to make that trip to CHKD.💙❤️💛

GOOD NEWS! Luke’s insurance covered boost breeze instead of the ensure clear & we received a shipment today!

BAD NEWS- they didn’t send any of his actual formula for his tube feeds, and it’s not even on the order list 🥴

So I’ll be calling tomorrow to try and get it figured out. He drinks these because he will not go completely NPO without screaming 24/7…. but he NEEDS the formula for his nutrition 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thank you to those who offered to help! Now once we figure out the formula we just have to see if we can’t get the thickener covered also. 🤞🏼

As of now insurance isnt covering the ensure clear and thickener. We have been buying it out of pocket. The ensure clear alone is $10-$13 for a 4 bottle back, and he drinks 3-4 bottles a day. We have had people reach out asking how they can help with this stuff that he needs so I created an Amazon wish list with these items. I did put Simply Thick on there instead of the thick it powder we’ve been using because I’ve heard it’s better to use. The single use packets of powder however are handy when we’re on the go. Nothing is expected but anything is appreciated-especially since the boys birthdays and Christmas is next month! We also head back to CHKD for follow ups in January.
