Thanks to everyone who participated in our fundraisers and event last month, we have just been able to donate our final amount of £142.12 to Chester Zoo!

This is incredible and Green Gorilla just want to thank everyone who got involved in helping us raise such an amazing amount for such a good cause 🎉

Hi! We hope you’re all excited for tonight’s event as much as we are😍

Here’s just a few things to remember:

⏰ Event starts at 7:30 but please join the Zoom link 5 minutes early so we can ensure everyone has arrived - you will be admitted to the waiting room
💃 There’s a bonus prize for best dressed so make sure to get your best jungle themed outfit ready!

⚠️ Extinction rate: Endangered
🔢 Population: 3,000
🌊 Where: Shallow waters in the North Pacific

‼️ Long hunted for their fur, sea otters were almost driven to extinction but are now protected by law. In spite of legal protection, over-hunting and pollution remain threats to the species.‼️

🐕 AFRICAN WILD DOG 🐕

⚠️ Extinction rate: Endangered
🔢 Population: 1,409
🇹🇿 Where: South East Africa (especially Tanzania and Mozambique)

‼️ They are opportunistic predators that hunt medium-sized ruminants, such as gazelles. In a sprint, African wild dogs can reach speeds of more than 44 miles per hour ‼️

⚠️ Extinction rate: Critically endangered
🔢 Population: Approx 5,600
🇰🇪 Where: Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya

‼️”Next to poaching, loss of habitat contributes to declines in rhino population. Human activities such as agriculture, settlements, and infrastructure development result in the loss and fragmentation of rhino habitat, which increases the risk of poaching and inbreeding”‼️
