The Creve Coeur Ice Arena is scheduled to reopen this Sunday, June 2. The rink was closed for a month to kick off the switch from R-22 to an ammonia-based refrigeration system. Although the entire project will not be completed until this fall, the City installed a temporary chiller to welcome skaters back on the ice sooner

Excited for the new program! 💡
The City Council recently approved a new Solar Powered Street Light Cost-Share Program, offering a more cost-effective way for residents to have street lights installed in neighborhoods with underground power lines. Solar powered lights are energy efficient LED fixtures with a separate collector panel mounted on the pole which can be aimed at the sun for optimum energy collection.
The program is a 50/50 cost share between the sponsor and the City. The estimated total cost to install each light is approximately $5,000. Based on this estimate, both the City and the sponsor would be responsible to pay approximately $2,500 per light. A more accurate cost will be available once project bids are received.
Solar street light installation requests can be sponsored by subdivision trustees or a group of residents. To request street light installation, the applicant sponsor must submit an application and supporting materials to the Department of Public Works, including a petition signed by all residents within 150 feet of the proposed street light.
City staff will accept applications for this program through March 31, 2024. Learn more at: https://www.crevecoeurmo.gov/1183/Street-Light-Program
