The Urban Dreams Mental Health Film Festival was started to provide a platform for filmmakers to reach a wider audience in order to raise awareness and catalyze positive changes to enhance mental healthcare. Attendees of the festival can expect to see a wide range of genres, including documentaries, narratives, and animation, that tackle various themes related to mental health. Awards are given for Best Short Film, Best Music Video, Best Documentary, Best Experimental Video and Audience Choice. The Heal Reel production “An InnerView in the Garden of Healing” was given the Honorable Mention for Best Documentary.

The Heal Reel promotes healing through the art of cinematography and catharsis of storytelling. Through our lifetime we construct a personal narrative through a multitude of stories. Some stories are small pieces of our everyday lives, and some stories rep-resent moments that forever alter our existence. The mission of the Heal Reel is to raise awareness of how sharing our stories serves not only to heal ourselves but also to promote healing in others. The production company offers a variety of services to help turn your true story into a cinematic reality.

It’s a big week for The Heal Reel🎬

Our small production company based out of is being recognized in The Big Apple 🍎 at the at Regal cinema in Union Square NYC. We will be screening our film “An InnerView in the Garden of Healing with TJ Hilton”, a documentary that explores the impact of su***de on those who are left in its wake.

When we began production of this film in 2022 we had the intention of bringing awareness to the issue of su***de and promoting the vulnerability needed to allow others to share their story and heal. We were humbled by the response that the film had locally when our premiere screening at Suds N Cinema was attended by our town mayor Bobby Wagner, Mayor of Destin and now we are honored to represent the City of Destin Government on the big screen in Manhattan.

Our mission is to promote healing through the art of cinematography and catharsis of storytelling. The Heal Reel was created to help others turn their true stories into a cinematic reality. Various healing modalities were used during the interview process to include registered Psychiatric .....

The Heal Reel offers many healing opportunities to include:

🎞Screenplay Competition: accepting submissions of screenplays based on true stories that caused physical, emotional, mental or spiritual wounding to the screenwriter. The winning screenplay is produced by a professional cast and crew.
🎞Screenwriting Seminars: for writers that want to learn how to turn their story into a screenplay offered along with various healing modalities to assist in the delicate process of translating a traumatic event into cinematic art.
🎞"InnerViews": share your story with an experienced interviewer while actively participating in various healing modalities such as sound frequency therapy and breathing techniques.
🎞Community Circle: a community group healing event utilizing healing techniques with group feedback and support.
