Put in a full day on the bus yesterday with . Starting to look like something! I’ll share more details tomorrow in my stories.
Well I’ve been pretty bad at posting but here is an update on the bus! Swipe to see what it looked like the first day I had it. Can’t wait to start framing so it starts to look like an actual skoolie!
- Solar and all electrical wiring ✔️
- Insulation and subfloor ✔️
- Fresh water tank, pump, accumulator filter, and lines installed ✔️
- Windows, ceiling back and front strapping ✔️
- Skylight ✔️
- Maxx fan ✔️
- Probably more things I can’t think of right now ✔️
Day 1 on the bus complete!
-
•Removed the spray pain on the windows the previous owner used
•Cleaned and vacuumed
•Fixed some of the framing
•Removed the safety stoppers on the windows so they can open all the way
•Laid out the floor plan (with the help of .myers8 design)

Onto the next! Stoked to build out my new school bus and bring you all along for the ride!!
I got lost
I drove 15,000 miles and was lost
A lot happened to me on the road
I felt free and I felt like I was being unraveled
I drove and I drove
But all I really had to do was one thing
I should have done that one thing a long time ago
There isn’t any place a van can take you that means more than the place you know you’re meant to be
-
I’m taking a break from Instagram for a while. I’m back from the road and I’m taking this time to reflect on my journey. I’m looking at the inner layers that were exposed out there. I’m seeing what I can do better for the people I love and healing myself.
These roads took me down places I didn’t think existed
Places that I thought initially were just places
They turned out to be all but places
Not so much places but reflections
Deep strings of places I never thought I would see
They unraveled me
They opened me up to see what is actually in there
The depth of the inner workings of what you think to be true
The questions that arise when reality smacks you in the face
All that I would lose
All that I would try to shed
All that when it really comes down to it, What matters most.
Things that make me happy on the road:
-
*peeking out of the van while cooking dinner and seeing Sol intently watch the sunset
*chatting with strangers
*watching Sol fall asleep on me
*having service every once in a while so we can have a movie night
*waking up and remembering I can go anywhere I want that day
*talking on the phone with family and friends back home
*doing handstands with really cool things behind me
*lots more
I wish you all could have seen my jaw literally hit the ground when I saw this last night. Around 12:30 am in Glacier with the freaking MILKY WAY!!
A long time ago I asked what you all wanted to see about van life. A lot of you said how I cook and what I eat so here is a video also from a long time ago that I realized I never posted. Van life cooking vegan burrito things and me saying weird things while doing it.
Day one at Glacier with my boy
Before the van was even finished I couldn’t wait to come here and take a class with . I don’t even know how many times I did his classes on (probably well over 100🤪) but I was ready to listen and learn from him in real life. Oh well, now I’m just glad the van made it this far! I’ll be back!
It felt like at the beginning I was always chasing the perfect spot to spend a night or two. You soon realize that there really is no perfect spot. Although this one comes awfully close, I stopped chasing and realized no matter where I end up, it’s always perfect.
This water blew my mind. Knowing that this is a really popular spot, I slept at the trailhead and hiked to the pool at 6am. I was the first and only one there for about 45 minutes! It was amazing to see the colors change as the sun light came over the trees and moved across the water. And no I didn’t swim in it but I wanted to! Unfortunately the water is 36 degrees which is a little too chilly for me, no matter how long it’s been since my last shower.
I’m going to share more photos from this day in my stories!! Much love peeps!!
Never thought I would see a volcano filled with water!! Crater lake is the deepest lake in the US and is only filled by snow and rain. There are no rivers or streams that go into or out of the lake and they still aren’t even positive where all the water goes!! WHAT!
@ Crater Lake National Park
11 national parks, lots of dirt roads, crystals, fossils, geodes, one tow out of the sand, one rebuilt road, so many beautiful sunsets, a couple nights at Walmart, way more beautiful camping spots, and a ton of memories.

Sol and I are a bit sad today because Dylan flew home but at the same time I’m so grateful I was able to share some of my van life experience my brother. We are going to miss him on the road so much!
@ VAN LIFE
Last night we got stuck in sand half way up to the tires trying to get to a spot to stay. We got towed out at 1 or 2am depending on wether we were in Utah or Arizona. Not sure what day or time it is anymore but moments like these make everything better.
I’m 1,833 miles and 6 flights of stairs away from my desk at my old job and it couldn’t feel better.
So we thought we might be stuck in this spot for days...
We found this dirt road pull off in the Roosevelt National Forest last night. Turns out the road was so uneven with two deep ditches and a sharp drop off towards the river. It’s hard to tell in the photos but just take my word for it. Naturally, we went down the road anyways because the spot was dope. At the second ditch I yelled “oh s**t Dylan” because I legit thought we were going to tip into the river. (Sorry, Mom) We somehow made it down to the level ground with food and other items strewn through out the van and no cell service.
So we spent the night and better part of this morning carrying big rocks up from the river to rebuild the road where the ditches were. Apparently we are pretty good at rebuilding roads with random rocks because we made it out! (After saging the outside of the van and the road and guidance from Dylan).
Onto the next adventure ✌🏼
@ Roosevelt National Forest
Damn, it feels good to be back on the road.
My guided meditation on opening to your higher self is live on my YouTube! Link in bio. Have a beautiful day everyone!
During this time away from van life I have been training really hard. All of a sudden I do yoga and drills twice a day and now somehow run 7 miles pretty often.
But I struggle. I struggle with separation of the mind. The ego. I keep waiting for this moment. This moment where it all strings together. Where all my hard work “pays off”. Where I wake up and I have a six pack. Where I can pike press every try. Where all the pieces of the web I’m building form into what I want.
But then I remind myself that it isn’t what I want. It’s not about the abs or the press. If I want it, if there is something there to want, I’ll never get it. I’ll never be happy with it because I’ll just want more of it.
It’s simply what I do.
It’s about building the pieces of the web along the way. There is no end destination. There is no goal.
It’s simply what I do.
Daily Routine
-
Going from living in a van to quarantine life has been odd. Is it just me or are days starting to blend together? How is everyone mixing up their daily routines?
Here’s how it goes nowadays:
-
Wake up
Feed Sol
Walk with Sol on the beach
Yoga/drills
Lunch
Beach (very super grateful for this)
Run
Dinner
Movie/Show/Puzzle/Computer work
Bed
Sometimes it’s a crazy day and we go to the grocery store or ride our long boards to get wine.
Electrical installation guide is live on the blog! Check it out for step by step instructions on installing your solar electrical system. Per usual, link in bio!
