Good morning and happy Sunday! Day 7 of my Sunrise challenge and the last day. I actually watched the sunrise today and had some company doing it. It was so bright and lovely. And a perfect way to end off the week because our final chakra for the week is all about reverence for life.

7th Chakra - Crown chakra

Location - on the top of the head

Colour - purple

Body systems - central nervous system/Pineal gland. Top of the spinal cord, brain stem, pain centre and nerves.

Mental/ emotional attributes - bliss, spirituality, connection, oneness, divinity, faith, feeling whole and in harmony with the universe, mysticism, reverence

This is the spiritual chakra. The one that connects your physical body to your higher power and to the abundance of the universe, no matter what religion you are or what your spiritual beliefs are. This is the chakra that gurus thrive on and everyone wants to achieve in complete balance. This chakra is best activated and aligned when in meditation or when in reverence for life. Best way to align this chakra is to align all the others that come before it so you can be fully grounded, present and open to the universe allowing the energy to completely flow through you and to you.

My essential oil good day formula for today... (along with a short meditation)

Highest potential - mind elevation and empowering, helping you to reach and connect to your highest potential

Awaken - increases spiritual awareness and awakening, expands consciousness

White Angelica - “Angel in a bottle” this oil is a protecting blend that connects you to the angels and the universe. After meditating using the other oils you would apply a few drops in your hand, rub them together and inhale. Then you would brush your hands over your crown chakra and down over your body to help smooth and clear your energy body.

Mantra for today - I am connected with my Higher power at all times. I see the Divine light in everyone. I am open to receiving guidance from my Higher wisdom. I recognize my higher purpose and I am on my path toward fulfilling it now.

Good morning... beautiful day ahead of us and Day 6 of my Sunrise challenge. Today we’re getting in touch with our intuition

6th Chakra - Third Eye chakra

Location - on the forehead in between the eyes

Colour - Indigo

Body systems - The pituitary gland, eyes, head, and lower part of the brain, (sleep issues)

Mental/ emotional attributes - intuition, discernment, imagination, knowledge, awakening, insight, trust, common sense, memory, intelligence

This is my favourite Chakra. The third eye is the door to our soul. It gives us insight and connects us to our innate internal knowledge. This is the psychic chakra.

My essential oil good day formula for today...

Envision - gets us out of the left brain and into right brain for intuition flow. Helps us to envision and create our future

Awaken - increases spiritual awareness and awakening, expands consciousness

Lavender - for clarity and mind calmness... invokes spirituality and connects us to our higher self for inner wisdom

Mantra for today - I accept and trust my intuition and inner wisdom. I trust and follow my inner guidance confidently. I trust my instincts about people, places and situations. I make positive decisions for my highest and greatest good and for the good of others.

Good morning all... Day 5 of my Sunrise challenge and I’m starting to get used to this getting up early thing. Seize the day. Today is all about speaking our truth.

5th Chakra - Throat chakra

Location - right in between the collar bones

Colour - Blue

Basics - communication, self-expression, and the ability to speak our personal truth.

Body systems - mouth, tongue, jaw, neck and thyroid.

Mental/ emotional attributes - authenticity, freedom, expression, being trustworthy, powerful, believable, clarity, shyness, dishonest, arrogance, doubt

In this chakra self expression and communication are key here. This is the chakra that is strengthened by writers and teachers and anyone that is allowed to express themselves freely. This is also the chakra that can get stifled easily by external circumstances and internal struggle. Even in relationships we need this chakra to be in balance for proper communication.

My essential oil good day formula for today...

Valor- resets the nervous system. Brings in strength, confidence and reassurance

Endoflex - rubbed right on your throat helps balance the thyroid and associated hormones. Your thyroid is your key gland in this chakra

German chamomile - on wrists and behind the ears helps promote peace, patience and calmness... and clarity to allow for proper communication

Peppermint - inhaled and rubbed on the temples - for an alert clear mind. Helps with memory and focus.

Mantra for today - "I speak my heartfelt truth with integrity and confidence. I easily find the words to share my truth. I communicate my ideas with clarity, conviction, and compassion. I allow my true self and inner voice to be expressed respectfully.

Morning lovelies... Day 4 of my Sunrise challenge and it’s a rainy morning today but that’s ok. Perfect day for bringing in the love and self care.

4th Chakra - Heart chakra

Location - Center of the chest

Colour - Green

Basics - center of compassion, empathy, love, and forgiveness.

Body systems - responsible for the heart, lungs, immune system, and muscles of the upper body.

Mental/ emotional attributes - love, compassion, understanding, empathy, forgiveness, kindness, joy, grief, sadness, judgement,

This chakra is all about love. Self love and love for others. The capacity to forgive and to give and accept love unconditionally. This is the self care chakra. It goes hand in hand with the Sacral Chakra when dealing with relationships.

My essential oil good day formula for today...

Forgiveness - over the heart to let go of the past and embrace the new. Unconditional love, self-compassion and self-nurturing. To open up the heart chakra.

Acceptance - on wrists and behind the ears for acceptance of ourselves others and new things, adapting to stress and self control.

Joy - applied over the heart for uplifting energy that brings joy and happiness to the soul. Self love.

Mantra for today - I fully love and accept myself. I forgive myself and I forgive others. My heart is open to give and receive love unconditionally.

Rise and Shine... Day 3 of my sunrise challenge and today we’re strengthening our core from the inside.

3rd Chakra - Solar Plexus chakra

Location - Upper abdomen above the belly button

Colour - Yellow

Basics - responsible for our personal power, self-esteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation.

Body systems - Digestive system disorders. Organs such as stomach, gall bladder, spleen and liver. Also the skin and muscular systems.

Mental/ emotional attributes - Confidence, motivation, purposefulness, responsibility, control, self esteem, power, reason, calm, anger, weakness, insecurity

This chakra is all about standing in your power, creating balance, self-esteem and inner strength. The solar plexus chakra and the root chakra work together to invoke power, strength and stability

My essential oil good day formula for today...

Valor - on the bottom of my feet, on my spine and back of my neck for strength, balancing and self confidence (starting to see a trend here?)

Release - over my solar plexus to release anger and promote harmony and balance

Transformation - applied to wrists and back of neck to empower and transform negative beliefs into uplifting thoughts. Empowers and upholds positive changes in our lives.

Mantra for today - I am calm. I am confident. I have inner strength and I feel empowered and in control of my life. I take full responsibility for all aspects of my life.

Good morning... Day 2 of my sunrise challenge and not the brightest morning. Perfect day to get connecting to our emotions and sensuality.

2nd Chakra - Sacral chakra

Location - Lower abdomen below the belly button

Colour - Orange

Basics - Our emotional centre. Responsible for the emotional body, sensuality, and creativity.

Body systems - The reproductive organs, lower GI tract, and lowest part of the spine.

Mental/ emotional attributes - pleasure, worthiness, creativity, sensuality, sexuality, gratitude, attraction, and desire

This is the chakra that governs our inner child and connection to our feelings, emotions and sexuality. Allows our creativity to flow.

Inner child - over my sacral chakra to connect with my authentic self and create emotional balance

Hello sunshine...Day 1 of my sunrise challenge and it’s all about the Root chakra today. Creating a grounding start to the week.

1rst Chakra - Root chakra

Location - Base of spine
Colour - Red

Basics - Our most instinctual chakra. Responsible for survival, vitality, stability and security.

Body systems - governs the back, feet, hips, spine, legs, bones, muscles, adrenal glands, colon, kidneys, and arterial blood that flows through heart, carrying oxygen and nutrients to our body

Mental/ emotional attributes - responsible for security, humility, feeling grounded, stable, physically fit, safe and secure, fearless, abundant, energetic and joyful, healthy eating, proper elimination, trust

This is the chakra that develops in your first few years of life and what determines your connection to the world and how safe you feel here. I think the most important chakra to be in balanced so it sets a good foundation for the rest of your energy system.

What is a Chakra you ask?

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means “wheel”. The chakras refer to energy “wheels” or energy centres in our body. There are 7 main chakras, which align the spine and correlate to different organs and body systems. They start from the base of the spine – the Root Chakra, all the way to the crown of the head – the Crown Chakra.

Our energy field and chakras get affected by our everyday experiences, stress, anxiety, negative thoughts and even toxic people around us that drain our energy. When your chakras are aligned, your energy is balanced and clear and you are able to experience positive attributes of each of these centres.

Essential oils can help to raise our vibration, align and balance these energy centres. Awareness of these energy centres and which ones may need improvement will help you to improve your mental, emotional and physical well being.
