So, how can I be consistent?⠀
⠀
As promised, here are few tips on building this very important skill and making it a part of your daily life! ⠀
⠀
Do share your thoughts on whether this was helpful!
This is a tough question we often face when pursuing our dreams. But it is necessary. It is reality. Does this mean watching a little less tv to work on that business plan? Or perhaps, waking up a bit earlier to start the day? It may mean something different for every person and this is why this question is specific to you. 'What are you willing to give up?'
I am big on writing things down, because when you do, you can visualize it. Sometimes when we only say things, it just remains in our thoughts. It becomes an idea that slowly drifts away. Writing it down, can make it real and tangible. You will often see me recommending this throughout my platform.
Write down the things that you are willing to give up. Also, be reasonable because you want to be able to commit to this. Maybe it may just be 1 thing for now and gradually grow to 2.
Most importantly, try not to remove or 'give up' the activities or people that bring joy and add positivity and growth to your life. So keep in mind that you may not want to do less praying or working out for example, if that will in fact keep you motivated to achieve your goals.
Yes you want to plan ahead and set short term or long term goals. This may also include preparing for obstacles that may possibly appear. However, it is important to remember to just tackle things each day at a time.
Sometimes trying to speed up goals and fix obstacles too far ahead can get us nervous and anxious. This is when self-doubt and fear begin to creep in, making you say things like "Maybe this is not for me anymore" or "I just can't start this business because I don't have the money".
Do not work yourself up over something you do not know i.e. tomorrow.
Take things one day at a time.
I think we have been teaching our children wrong concepts about shapes all this time, which they then apply to life as an adult. Then, we expect them to unlearn this behavior.
This is applicable when it comes to the topic of Diversity & Inclusion where it is important for us to consider making space for differences and uniqueness in people (race, gender etc.).
This is also applicable when it comes to social ideologies on what someone must conform to based on social standards. Society has created shapes, colors, dimensions and sizes on what we must look like, the jobs that are deemed respectable and concepts of marriage etc.
It is important to be confident on who you are and who you are becoming.
You are agile, flexible and adaptable and do not need to conform to fit within a shape.
Did you laugh or smile today? Every now and then we need to reach up for a little air to keep moving.
Whatever you are going through today, no matter the obstacle, push through with that smile.
Think of a fond memory that will make you laugh and/or smile.
You know in the past, I have found myself putting off dreams by saying 'Next year or two years from now I'll start doing xyz'. I have even found myself canceling them entirely because I have built up reasons why I should not.
Do you find yourself doing similar things when it comes to relationships, friendships, careers, goals, dreams and passions?
We settle, delay and cancel as if we know 100% that we have another life where we will get to come back to experience these things. Are you really going to get another opportunity to find love or start your dream business if you don't do it in this life?
This is not about being reckless or seizing the day. This is about living life to YOUR full potential. Ask yourself, am I living life like I'm coming back or am I living life like it is my only one?
While some corporations have swiftly responded with a tactical plan against systemic racism, others are struggling with where to begin and are still creating those ‘D&I PowerPoint slides’. I picked the following low hanging fruit that can have a quick yet high impact for corporations to create change against systemic racism:⠀
⠀
🍎Accept that systemic racism exists within your organization ⠀
🍍Challenge the bias in every area of your organization
🍇Transform the organization with qualified persons equipped to manage a racially traumatized workforce ⠀
⠀
And to my black people, the world is more aware and is acknowledging the racism and suppression we may encounter everyday. Processing this is a lot; therefore I think it’s important to consider these three things:⠀
⠀
️❤️Your feelings are your feelings ⠀
👫We need to support each other ⠀
👀Keep your eye on the ball
Thank you again for inviting me to share my thoughts on systemic racism on your platform. This is such an important topic and it meant so much to me to share it with a close and dear friend.
When we come together, we can always win!

I am taking over the IG page of my dear friend Rachelle () to discuss this important matter. Systemic racism has no place in any area of society, let alone the workplace where people dedicate each day of their lives to work toward taking care of their families and pursuing their dreams.
The recent tragedies have led many companies to draw the line in the sand on racism. In fact, racism has never been so openly discussed in the corporate room and on public work emails. While this change is occurring, it is important for companies to be direct, ensure solutions have high impact and make some swift decisions.
Check out the next post to read a few thoughts on what corporations should be focusing on to move the needle and what I recommend for my fellow black counterparts during this time.
People always ask successful people "how did you do it" or "how did you become successful"? In the past, I have also wondered, expecting to hear some unique tactical story. Until I realized the answer was right there hidden between the storytelling.
It. Is. Always. Consistency.
Top athletes, creators or innovators have spoken about practicing or working at it everyday. People would argue they were more talented. However, what they proved was that they were more consistent. You see, consistency builds confidence, then it builds skills, then excellence.
So how can you be consistent? Stay tuned for more on this topic!
Because I find any opportunity to dress up, even when goal setting and planning! 🤣 🤣🤣
Ok on a serious note, dressing well and comfortable can boost your confidence. While some may argue that it could be shallow or materialistic, studies have proven that your appearance can boost your confidence and attitude. This is why, during covid/quarantine, it is so important to get up, shower and get dressed (whether in comfortable attire or not) to approach your workday. It helps to get you in the right mindset.
Note: This is not a rationalization or excuse to shop outside of your budget or live above your means. We will explore tips on how to stay trendy within a budget on a later post.

So I thought it would be a good idea to share a bit about myself so that we can get to know each other. Comment below on something that you love so that I can learn about you! Here goes...
I am a morning person (even on weekends, I'm talking 6am)
I speak up (sometimes I know I should stay quiet 😂)
I am grateful for every tough experience I have lived through
I can be stubborn at times
I pray everyday
I reflect every night on what I learned that day
I have an unsatisfied sweet tooth (I always want more dessert)
I do not drink alcohol (😲 I have nothing against it, it just never appealed to my palate as much as desserts)
I have fun like I'm drinking alcohol 😜
I like things spicy...in food and in life 😆
I think forgiveness is important
I love to cook
I think I have a love story with food
I love to dance (and I'm always doing so around the house)
I love to 'dress up' and I do as long as I'm leaving the house
I love gems and I have a newfound appreciation for sapphires and pink diamonds 💎
I'm a tv show/movie crier 😭
I know what I want and I go after it
My name is Kizzy Gift! I was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and this is something I hold close and dear to my heart. I spent most of my adolescent years in theater wanting to pursue a career in acting and dance yet I found myself in a corporate room as an adult. I have spent the last 12 years in business consulting helping companies grow their business, transform operations and strengthen their financial position. This has allowed me to not only travel internationally but I was also able to meet so many amazing people.
I love ice-cream, fashion and jewelry but this page will not focus on my guilty pleasures. I have a vision that this page will be a safe space for learning and developing. I want to use my personal experience and platform to share with others in an effort to help us reach our full potential.
While we may discuss areas of financial wealth, personal growth, careers and entrepreneurship; we are open to all that is positive!
