WEDNESDAY, November 1st! Día de los Mu***os is next week! We have two exciting events coming up for this special holiday. The first is our community ofrenda that will go up November 1st at school. Ofrendas are altars used to celebrate departed loved ones and honor their memory. We welcome you to add to our community ofrenda a photo of a loved one or to share a memory (please indicate on the back of any photos your name with masking tape so we can return it safely to you). We will also have decoration supplies available for you to help decorate our ofrenda. 🧡 For folks who want a photo of their loved one printed out for display or to decorate before placing on the ofrenda, tap the link in our bio and submit the photo by 5 pm October 31st! We will return photos with names back to the student mailboxes at the end of the holiday.

Friendly reminder that our bar night is THIS THURSDAY, October 12th, at El Río! Take a self-care break from the midterms stress and hang out with us.🫶🏼There will also be karaoke happening at the venue so you can sing your heart out afterwards! 😉

Our hearts are as full as our stomachs were at the Diversity Week International Food Festival. LLSA & ELSAS members, Alexander Salazar and Diana Jiménez, had a great time this morning volunteering on Mount Sutro as part of .stewards’s conservation program. They helped with habitat restoration by pulling non-native, invasive species, which disrupts the surrounding ecosystems. Thank you to Sutro Stewards for having us, and we hope to come back again next year!

Good luck with finals everyone; we look forward to celebrating our graduating 3Ls this coming month. 👏

Finals tip: don’t get caught in the w**ds, w**d ‘em out! Join LLSA & ELSAS before you gotta bury your heads in your books at Sutro Native Plant Nursery (476 Johnstone Dr, San Francisco, CA 94131) on Wednesday April 26, 2023 at 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

Conservation projects may include habitat restoration or nursery activities, which could entail invasive species removal, native plant plantings, plant propagation, seed processing, transplanting, pot washing and much more!

The event is capped at 5 students, so first to RSVP may volunteer (please do so by Sunday, April 23 at 11:59 PM). Carpooling is available for three students, and it would require meeting at campus prior to the event.

Round 2! Help us fundraise for the graduating class. We will provide flavors next week!
