A toy becomes a toy when a child decides for it to be one. This is what is all about. Keep on playing mindfully with your child at home. 🖐🏼❤️🌱

Learning how to write begins with meaningful play. Writing play inspirations include taking orders in a restaurant, pretending to write the doctor’s prescription and even doing shopping lists. 🌱🖐🏼❤️

The best gift we can give a child is not something to play with, but time to play with something.

Let us give our child time and space to imagine, to be messy, to be happy— to PLAY.
Sharing this quote by Meynell Walter, one of the play advocates we look up to.
“If I’m told what to do, then it’s an activity. If I decide what to do, then it is play.”🌱🖐🏼❤️

We passionately believe that children must be given the freedom to choose how they want to play with the materials around them. “Toys” are everywhere — the dried leaves on the ground, carton boxes, empty bottles, blankets, broken gadgets, broom, slippers, etc. Try giving your child a box with random things in it and let us see how he/she will play with the “toys” inside. 🌱🖐🏼❤️

Thank you mommy for always putting my needs first and also for playing with me!

Kapag umulan nama’y magtatampisaw,
Mahirap man o may kaya, maputi o kayumanggi,
At kahit ano mang uri ka pa,
Sa’yo ang mundo pag bata ka.”

“Stop playing with that stick.”
This is a common phrase adults say when they see their child play with a stick. But is it really unsafe and wrong for children to play with sticks?
In a child’s mind, a stick (could be anything he/she wishes it to be...) a magic wand, fishing rod, shovel, horse and many more! It is the cheapest yet the best toy you can ever give your child. Imagine him playing with sticks of different lengths and sizes. What amazing mindful and creative plays he can surely come up with!
Children are very much capable of playing with real life objects safely and appropriately. Step back and observe the play intention first before intervening or mindfully play with them instead! Trust us, playing with sticks is much safer than playing with tablets.🌱🖐🏼❤️

They're only saying I love you.”

“You are never too small to make a difference.” -Greta Thunberg
Mindfully Played was created for families to understand and practice sustainable ways to play with their children. Expensive and plastic toys are not the measurement to ensure meaningful play. Rocks, leaves, twigs and mud are the Earth’s natural toys for our children!
We still have a long way to go promoting this advocacy and just like Greta, we believe that we can make a difference one playdate, one birthday party and one family at a time.

In this new life of isolation, children are affected the most— the drastic change in routines and not being able to meet friends and play outdoors. Let us express how proud we are with the learning they are doing right now.🖐🏼🌱❤️
