Not sure if it matters to anyone but maybe I can inspire just 1 person...

(However, the last time I posted about this very thing about 6 years ago, I was made fun of and belittled on social for it. So BE NICE.)

I have not had an alcoholic beverage in 23 days.

It's not really for any reason except that I'm too busy, I need quality sleep and I need clarity and strength to maintain boundaries.

I feel amazing, I've lost 11 pounds (due to no alcohol + liver support nutrition and the supplementation I've been doing) and I'm waking up feeling rested. It's been a minute for that!

I've been asked, "what's your goal date?" "ARE YOU QUITTING?!" "HOW do you do that given hubs is industry?" "Then how are you coping with stress?"

I don't have a goal date, I just know I feel really good and I need to wake up and crush my day and life, and there isn't room for it right now.

I'm not quitting but I am going to make it more of a special moment and savor it instead of drinking for any reason under the sun - I mean if it's October let's say, and I want to have a delicious pumpkin beer, YES PLEASE! But, I don't need 4. 🍁🎃

Being around it hasn't been hard at all. Even though Kurt is a brewer, Tbh I'm too busy and there are bountiful delicious NON ALCOHOLIC OPTIONS these days and I'm here for that!!!

Now, the stress.

I'm coping with stress by carving out blocks for me. I'm doing personal development, seeing a therapist, I've planned weekly date nights with Kurt and days with Zuri (seperately), I've blocked out work hours, business hours and mom/Zuri appointments. I'm Eating realllllly well, staying hydrated and committed to my workouts. I'll share more about all that later...

So, this is a big change - but for the better and I'm showing up in my life with way more strength and motivation, driven by passion and energy.

23 days yall and still counting.🎃🤟

So, who wants to go on an alcohol free Hiking weekend with me?

Good morning from a stressed out mom, and care giver who is holding on by a string, trying to work, run a business and keep my S**T together...while focusing on self care, managing a ton of self control... down 8 pounds!!!

I'm scared.

Today, in about 8 minutes, I'm doing my very first Welcome Sesh with a client. She has graciously agreed to be my guinea pig for my final Capstone Project to earn my certification as a HOLISTIC NUTRITION COACH❤️

The reason I'm posting is because so many thoughts go into this...

Yes, I'm almost certified!

Oh wait, what if I suck, I fail,... or even worse begin to feel like an imposter. Eeek.

Fear creeps in as the day draws near and you wonder if you can really do this...

Just being incredibly transparent here:
I'm terrified, it's practice and I CAN FREAKING DO THIS. I WAS MEANT FOR IT!

Yesterday, I freaked out in a very bad moment of self doubt.

Just being real here. I started my exam and spent 2 hours answering scenario questions, tricky true false, multiple choice with all of the above as one answer and mind numbing moments of second guessing myself.

At one point, I took a quick brain break and honestly thought there was no way I was going to pass...sat there and thought, maybe I'm not cut out for this...

As I finished the 100th question, 2 hours later, I shut my eyes, hit submit and covered them like I was watching a horror movie. Peaking through to see what the verdict was, knowing I needed an 80%. In my head I could miss 20 questions and over half, were very difficult for my 44 yo brain. (Even with my notes, yes, they were allowed and NOT helpful!)

When the dial started at 0% and went all the way to 95% I froze and started crying, joy and relief flooded in and I realized - I freaking passed!

As most of you know, I've been a health and wellness coach, now partner, with BODi for 10 years. I'm so grateful that those skills led me to this and NOW I can help my clients (BODi or not) in an even stronger way adding an extra level of support, personalized wellness vision plans and lifestyle and behavior change coaching , plus coming soon, my Holistic Nutrition Approach (stay tuned!!)

Today I'm grateful for every damn thing and human that led me to this.

I'M BAAAAAAAAACK!

After a month of consistent workouts, I'm feeling alll the feels. Control over my choices. Determination to keep going. Passion to help others like me and a recommitment to a business that changed my life in incredible ways.

With the perfect summer program coming out Thursday (travel, no problem - no equipment needed - and too busy, no problem, its just 20 minutes. PLUS - zero sugar SHAKEOLOGY (available tomorrow) yes!

AND THEN a massive HORMONE HEALTH program, and a hormone balancing nutrition program...I FEEL SO ALIGNED and excited!!!

My prep for all of it starts JULY 1st with the perfect summer plan - LAVA and a hormone balancing nutrition plan.

I'm committing to starting with 10 beautiful humans who truly just want to feel better.

This won't fix you, it will help you feel more like yourself and in a more optimal range of wellness.

I made a very yummy dinner for the family tonight❤️Salmon with a kalamata olive tapenade, cauliflower rice mushroom risotto and asparagus. Eating healthy doesn't have to be terrible and bland AND BORONG!!! It looks like this🔥❤️

In April, I made a pact with myself to setting boundaries, moving at least 5 days a week, doing hard things, saying YES to me first and learning more about my hormone health , plus actually doing something about it. I'm pretty sure this is 10 weeks of grace, learning, challenging myself and leaning in to my goals: professionally, emotionally and physically.

In no way has this been easy, perfect or strict. Just consistent and flexible🥰

I will be running my first ever body positive, hormone health focused workout group (using a brand new 20 minute program from BODi) starting in July.

So, here I am, working from home, in my 2 pc, owning it and feeling pretty damn good - bc I haven't braved one in 3 years.

I can't remember if I shared that each day of the certain workouts I'll be wearing the same outfit to measure my results that way vs the scale. I'm so freaking motivated to keep doing these hour long workouts, especially seeing this 3 week difference. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

I have recently had my hormones tested because no matter how hard I try I:

can't lose weight
Tired all the time
Always feeling hungover
Insomnia most if the nights
Bloat/swelling
Moody/anxious/stressed
Other things...

On Wednesday I went over it with my doctor and she came back with - you are NORMAL, not OPTIMAL.

"Could you do some preventative things to make you healthier in the future? YES."

"Could you feel better than you do right now? YES."

The first thing I'd like to address is that one of my pathways carrying estrogen is not so happy and could damage my DNA enough to put me at risk for cancer later on. Why not supplement now and treat it?!

She said, you need GLUTATHIONE.

I needed to have something that not only detoxifies my estrogen pathways but also hydrates my system, boosts energy, improves skin and helps with stress. All the electrolytes!!!

This is the first of many supplements my doctor recommended for my hormone health and I'm excited to see if changes take place on my follow-up, as I add this in consistently and with science to back it up.

I add it to my water when I'm hiking and first thing in the morning bc my blend has so many other benefits.

It will be fun listening to my body and making it happy. If you are struggling with similar symptoms, I encourage you to get tested or even talk with me about what my doc suggested.

I have a vision and a dream and sometimes, I put my dreams on the back burner just to try to play catch-up with bills, work, life, you know the drill...

After this past weekend, watching a very badass woman make her dreams a reality, I realized it's time to hone in and put in the work to make mine happen.

After 2 tests this week, putting my syllabus in my calendar and committing to the time, (I mean committing to my dream) - I'm officially halfway to becoming a certified HOLISTIC NUTRITIONIST.

I will not be a dietician (I wish I was) but I can support and inform my clients and work with care teams to reach goals, which all too well aligns with my skills at motivating and encouraging clients through health and wellness coaching.

My goal is to add value to my coaching clients by adding an educated holistic approach to their health and wellness goals.

I'm feeling incredibly joyous this evening and have to remind myself...

You can start anytime. You can rebrand yourself anytime. You can pivot anytime. You can build a new business and crush hard things anytime. It's never too late!

We all can do hard things and are not limited to the "norms."
