Scout to return in 2026 as VW's EV off-road brand.

Volkswagen will join the electric off-road market by creating a new company with the long-defunct Scout nameplate, once used by International Harvester.

The Scout brand will begin production in 2026, with an electric pickup truck and SUV duo.

Prototypes will be revealed next year, and the vehicles will be based on a new platform and designed specifically for the U.S. market.

A F-150 lightning owner had said that he has noticed about a 50% reduction in range while towing roughly 6,000 pounds 🔋🛻👀 but said with the torque it felt amazing towing!!

Had a blast shooting the R1T Launch Edition out on some dirt forest roads. Haven’t seen many of these in person and seeing it out in the woods suits the truck so well. The modern and unique design of the truck really contrasts the rugged terrain of the outdoors but somehow they match so perfectly. Thanks to .r1t for letting me take pictures of this beauty out in its natural habitat.

Remember the days when you might have to jumpstart a friend’s car?

Here’s the modern equivalent: Ford’s new electric F-150 Lightning pickup, when equipped with Pro Power Onboard, can share electricity (or miles) with other electric vehicles. A Mustang Mach-E, for example, can receive about 20 miles of range in about an hour. That might get you home.

In other news, Ford has announced the latest EPA-estimated range for its new F-150 Lightning, which reaches customers this spring. With a standard battery, the base Lightning has an EPA-estimated range of 230 miles. With the extended battery, that gets bumped up to 320 miles. Respectable.

Rebelle Rally recap as the event begins to wind down. Team 140, piloted by with navigating and riding shotgun, have done a phenomenal job taking the Rivian R1T through the gruelling 1200 mile event.
