My first year trying to cover Madison County Athletics had tons of ups and downs. I did not expect McSportsTalk to turn into what it did and I am devoted to pushing it further next season. Thank you to all the athletes and fans for being such amazing people and working with me throughout the year to help add new coverage to these games.
These awards may look different than other ones you’ve seen around, I don’t have a fancy show and u might question my credibility. You may not agree with my selections but these are my personal selections based on what I’ve seen at over 120 games spanning at least 25 different venues this season. I have a ton more coming to wrap up the 2021/22 season so stay tuned!

Brennan Stow Filling in Nicely

Lapel Quarterback Brennan Stow has been the guy Lapel needs under center. After star quarterback Cole Alexander graduated 2 years ago many people didn’t think there was a guy who could fill his shoes. In stepped Brennan Stow, a junior QB with a cannon for an arm and an incredible football IQ. In his 2 seasons so far as a starting QB Stow has thrown for over 3,400 yards and 37 Touchdowns. Last season Stow led the Bulldogs to a 9-3 record having their season cutoff in the sectional championship game to a powerhouse Tipton team. Stow is on track to have an even better season this year and potentially grab a sectional championship, which is a task in such a grueling sectional Lapel has. Whatever lies in the future, Stow has no room to hang his head. As his senior campaign comes to a close he can look back and feel accomplished on what he’s done for Lapel football.
