A cheat sheet to help master your energy if you feel you are trying to keep up with the world.
I didn’t know how to manage myself when things were getting too much for me. I didn’t know when enough was enough, and I burnt out.
I learnt that burnout is an area for seeing, feeling, understanding and I was out of alignment with my energy.
That’s why it’s so important that I focus on nourishing myself to stay on top of my life.
By implementing these 3 steps I managed to take control of my energy.
What are your thoughts and questions about this topic?

A simple question that dives deep into your why and gives you great clarity to move forward.
As a specialist health coach certified in sleep, stress management and recovery, I can help you find clarity to better manage your health and well-being stemming all from sleep and rest.
From exhausted to energised, Calm Fresh Fitness offers you support and guidance through the challenging times of life transformation.
So, I’ll ask you again.
Why Do You Want to Improve Your Sleep?
Danielle
Sleep & How Coaching Can Help, Even if You Have a Sleep Disorder
From time to time, it’s likely you’ve experienced insomnia.
Then you get tangled up in life, and frequent acute episodes of insomnia can be frustrating.
This can then lead to chronic and persistent insomnia.
You could even have another sleep disorder that has been diagnosed by a medical professional, which is having a knock-on effect on your life.
So, how can a Health coach help with your sleep?
Firstly, sleep disorders are outside a health coach’s scope of practice, and we would never diagnose or treat them.
However, a health coach can really help you with the beliefs and behaviours around sleep disorders.
Ways in which we can help
● Planning daily routines
● Look at obstacles realistically and identify solutions and strategies to overcome them.
● Help you practice self-compassion
● Together, exploring your mindset about sleep or the lack of it leads to a growth mindset.
● Building accountability and monitoring your sleep. This helps build awareness around yourself and helps you to stick to your doctor’s instructions more effectively.
● Celebrate any progress you have made towards the completion of your goals.
Health Coaches can work with you and alongside your doctors to help improve your health and well-being.
Doing this brings medical and holistic well-being together to transform your life.
So whether you can’t sleep right now due to lifestyle habits or you’ve been diagnosed with a sleep disorder, a health coach can support you through tough times.
Do you want to shift your life to the next level?

Transforming Exhaustion into Vibrant Living
If you aren’t sleeping, you’re probably feeling some sort of stress throughout the day; if you’re stressed throughout the day, your sleep is perhaps being disrupted, and it’s likely to be stress.
If you’re stuck in this never-ending cycle, know there is a way out.
Reprogramming yourself is the key to gaining control of your life.
Take it from me: as a busy professional who, at the time of 24 years old, crashed at the extent of chronic stress and exhaustion, I learnt that sleep was one of the most important key ingredients of my health.
I can honestly say that mastering my new sleep habits and stress management skills and understanding the full potential of recovery transformed my life and health.
Are you stressed?
Exhausted?
Are you on the verge of burnout?
Are you an insomniac?
Are you ready to change your life to live more vibrantly?

Confronting the fear of Boundaries and implementing them into my life.
When I realised I had no boundaries, I knew I had to start working on them. At first, I feared the unknown. I was a peaceful person at heart, and I didn’t want to put myself in conflicting scenarios.
But when I looked at the bigger picture, I had nothing in place to protect my health and well-being.
In life, you’ll often encounter challenges that will put your boundaries to the test, and that's okay. The more you stand by them, the stronger you make this life skill.
Sometimes, defining and defending your personal space and limits might feel like a battle. But remember, every challenge is a lesson.
As I stood by my boundaries, after a while, I started feeling the pressure being released. As I communicated my boundaries, I entered the phase where understanding and empathy came into play. I found that finding common ground is key to easing the pressure of conflict.
Over time and with some effort, boundaries led me to a sense of inner peace. I found balance, harmony, and a healthier state of being, knowing that my needs were and still are respected, and I also respect the needs of others.
I’ve been in scenarios where I communicated, empathised and tried to reason to show how my boundaries would allow me to be more productive, and the other person would ignore me.
In these scenarios, I had my eyes opened up so the other person would never see my point of view, and that was my cue to move on.
So, don't be discouraged by the conflicts you face when standing by your boundaries. Embrace the journey, which leads to the ultimate destination of inner peace and helps improve your health and well-being. 🌟✌️

Balance is all about work, play, rest and nourishment.
One thing the desert has really made me pay attention to is my hydration intake, particularly electrolytes.
This vacation, we've really had to up our electrolyte intake and make it a crucial part of our nutrition.
We did a late evening hike at Arches National Park, and towards the end, I started getting a pounding headache and feeling sick. I knew straight away I needed to hydrate my body.
When I had my electrolyte drink, within a minute, my headache and feeling sick disappeared.
Most would pop a pill to cure their headache or nausea, but what we really need is just to nourish the body with the proper nutrients for balance. Remember too much can sway the other way.
Listening to my body has been another significant step in my journey, and since I've started listening, my mind and body have functioned even better.
This is part of what I guide you with when taking the next step towards your more successful, balanced life goals.

🌼 Connections that flourish bring joy to life.
Nurture your relationships with open communication and quality time.
Communication is the key to strong, beautiful relationships. Not only with others but with yourself too.
Relationships are so important when it comes to you. You'd be surprised that hanging out with negative people can really influence you to be a negative person yourself.
I'll be honest when I'm around negativity, I can easily slip into this way of life, and I can become a super bitter person. But saying that I'm only human and I take full responsibility for how I react to situations, and the only thing I can do is to snap myself out of that trance.
The more I surround myself with people who make me feel seen and appreciate me for my gifts and talents, and I do the same with them, it's amazing how quickly your life can move towards your goals along with feeling happy.
Surround yourself with people who you have more in common with you, and strengthen these relationships if they make you feel good.
I'm going to be open with you now and tell you I've had to cut off people in my life because they weren't good for my mental health, and some I've just drifted away from because I've grown and I don't have much in common with them anymore.
Being human is all about connection, but the connection has to be right for you.
Balancing your social network will help you thrive both personally and professionally.

Clear your mind, conquer your goals.
Prioritise mental well-being through mindfulness practices and self-reflection.
This area of my life is taking me the longest to master as there have been a lot of outside influences creating neuropathways that have held me back in life. Saying that, it's totally my responsibility how I live my life, and therefore, it's my responsibility to train my mind to be in line with the type of life I want to live now.
I don't see my past mental health as a blame game, but as an experience I can learn from and guide others with my experience.
I've learnt over the years that in order to change, I have to recognise that habit and slowly shift it. I've also known that negative self-talk can really hold you back, but it's just a way of keeping yourself safe from the unknown.
One activity I've found to be really powerful, and I can feel the shift in my body and mind, is gratitude.
Gratitude can really pull you out of a dark place, even if it's appreciating the simple things, especially about yourself. An example I can give you is showing gratitude for my body. It allows me to do the things I love and how my body shape makes me unique in a crowd of people. We all have a head and body, but we all have unique shapes and sizes, and that's what we should celebrate instead of wishing to be the same and merge into the crowd.
Remember, a balanced mind paves the way for success, happiness and freedom.

Maintaining physical health is part of the foundation of success. 💪🏋️♀️
Embrace a balanced approach to fitness
This doesn't mean hitting the gym 24/7 or running marathons to keep up your cardio. It's about moving your body in a way that suits you to keep it healthy.
For me, I have bursts of energy where I can do a lot and really push myself and then other days, I need to be a little more gentle with myself, and that's when I’ll do a little yoga workout. One thing that I always promise myself is to move my body every day, even if that's walking for a minimum of 20 minutes daily.
A mix of cardio, strength, and flexibility exercises can really help to keep your body in a healthy state.
Your body deserves care and attention, so listen to and give it what it needs.

Strategic steps lead to career success.
Cultivate a balanced work approach – set ambitious goals while prioritising self-care.
For me, when I was a dental nurse, I qualified and then studied for my post qualifications. At the same time, I was moving up the ranks into management. I had a messy middle to my nursing career, but when I moved to the hospital, the support I had alongside the education and career development was amazing. It showed me how having a busy career and balancing it with my mental and physical health needs was a story of setting myself up for success.
Some days, I would have to put a little more energy into my work, but knowing that, I would make sure I scheduled time for rest and recovery. Then, if I had more days resting, I would find myself feeling ready to be back at work and sometimes even eager to get back.
Now, I'm living a completely different life out here in Canada, but I make sure my employer at my part-time job knows how I work, and they've witnessed that the more rest I have, the more productive I can be and I do more work in a small amount of time that still allows me to feel good. I also do the same with my coaching practice and my personal life, and the same happens. I can get 6-8 hours of work done in 4-5 hours as long as I listen to my body and rest.
What I've come to realise is the more I work like this, the more I seem to be travelling and exploring the world, too. It's like I've found the key to live the life I want to live.
Remember, a well-balanced career journey can help you find the sweet spot in life.
Danielle x
Passions fuel your journey. 🔥
Dedicate time to personal interests, balancing your hobbies and responsibilities.
For me, I love baking, nature, wildlife and outdoor activities, especially in the mountains or on the beach. Oh, and how could I forget my love of football (soccer)⚽
I also love to unleash my inner child from time to time and just have playful fun.
If you're struggling to find something that lights you up inside, think back to when you were a kid. What did you love to do the most?
As a kid, I loved to draw flowers, design figure skating costumes and casual outfits, and make things. As I got older, design technology captured my heart, especially textiles, where I could get creative and design interior furnishing and clothes.
I never pursued this as, at 16, I was torn between my creative side, my love of sport and biology, and I chose a health science subject.
This has been on my mind, and I've even taken the first step of buying drawing, colouring pencils and a pad to get drawing again.
I encourage you to embrace the strategy of joyful activities to release your inner creativity.
Danielle x
⚡Recharge to stay ahead in the game.
🌴 Prioritise relaxation with purpose. Find activities that rejuvenate your spirit.
Relaxation, for me, is about grounding myself back into the present moment and switching my body to the parasympathetic nervous system.
I have a few ways of relaxing and winding down.
I love all things nature, so I’ll go outside with bare feet and watch the world go by. I also get lost in a daydream, meditative-like state.
Water is another biggy for me. Any time I'm near running water, I feel so calm and relaxed. From taking a shower to sitting next to a creek, I'm in a very relaxed, creative mode.
Then there's meditation. I find this to be a very powerful tool and something that I've got hooked on. I absolutely love doing it.
I wasn't a very spiritual person when I lived with chronic stress and anxiety. Still, meditation is something I tried, and the change I felt and saw within myself was transformational. I, like many, struggled to focus, and at one point, I was about to give up. That was until some said meditation is a skill you just have to keep practising. And they were right. Sometimes, I still have days where my mind wanders, but I know how to acknowledge that and get myself back on track.
These activities are just some ways I like to relax and unwind, but for you, it could be something completely different.
Keep trying out a few things and see what resonates with you.
A well-balanced downtime strategy will boost your productivity and overall well-being.

⚖️Crafting the perfect symphony of life.
Achieving work-life balance involves blending physical health and mental well-being, nurturing relationships, advancing your career, pursuing personal interests, and embracing relaxation.
For a long time, I didn't realise I was out of sync with the balance of my career and life.
My career took over my personal life. Even if I wasn't physically working on my job at home, mentally, I was still thinking about it. Then, the way I reacted to my personal life hurdles left me suppressing thoughts and feelings because my beliefs were to be successful, I have to be seen as strong and not coping was a sign of weakness. Little did I know I was so wrong.
Instead of letting my body relax and my mind be creative in my spare time, I dealt with chronic stress and anxiety.
Over the years, I've been in a trial and error phase in finding the right balance, which burnt me out even more trying to find the perfect balance.
Once I let go of trying to have a 50/50 split, I started to see that balance was, in fact, about crafting a life that excites, invigorates and thrives and to have that sometimes work needs a little more attention and other times life needs a little more.
It's about feeling happy with what you need to do in that moment alongside a structure of boundaries you can live by, knowing when enough is enough.
Remember, balance is the key to a harmonious and prosperous life.

Embrace the harmony of Work and Life.
Let's take a moment to talk about that delicate dance we all know too well – work and life.
It's okay to feel the weight of responsibilities tugging at your heartstrings but remember, you're also the composer of your own symphony.
Give yourself permission to find your rhythm – a balance that nurtures your dreams and well-being.
Allow yourself to evolve, to shift, to adapt. Life isn't about finding the perfect equilibrium; it's about embracing the flow of change.
Together, let's create a space for your transformation.
Let's celebrate the small steps, the pauses, and the strides forward.
Your path may twist and turn but know that growth resides in those twists.
So, breathe in the possibilities, exhale doubts, and step into a new perspective.
Let's keep moving forward

Rediscovering Balance
Let's talk work and life – you know, the juggling act? But guess what? We're tossing out the old playbook and trying something fresh.
Here's the deal: The balance isn't 50-50. It's more like mixing colours on a canvas. Sometimes bold, sometimes chill – all part of our masterpiece.
Work may play a larger part one day or even a week, and your personal life/play may play a larger part the day or week after.
It’s all about knowing when enough is enough with work, and you fine-tune yourself to rest and play so you can energise and rejuvenate to excel in work and life.
Here are a few ways we can strategise to incorporate the new way of balance.
Idea #1: Seasons, Not Schedules
Idea #2: Less Hustle, More Heart
Idea #3: Here, Now, Always
Swipe the post for more details on each idea.
Share with me your thoughts on this perspective of work-life balance

⚖️Work-Life balance is NOT a 50/50 split!
Redefining your perspective on work-life balance is the key to fostering a fulfilling and harmonious lifestyle.
The more pressure you put on yourself for a 50/50 split. Eventually, you’ll start to stress yourself out.
It’s about bringing different factors together to promote your health and well-being, with things like boundaries, lots of rest and play and working smarter, not harder, with fewer distractions to promote productivity.
It’s intertwining your passions, pursuits, and responsibilities, so you can create a seamless flow that nurtures your well-being and maximises productivity.
Remember, it's not about clocking in and out but about crafting a holistic existence where each facet enriches the other.

🌱 Embrace the Power of Slowing Down 🌱
For years I got caught up with the traditional way of life. I was constantly on the go and stuck in the mindset that I had to work harder to prove to myself that I could do it all so that I wouldn't fail. But that just left me burnt out, living with chronic stress and anxiety.
Slowing down every part of my life, which has been hard at times, has opened my eyes up to see how life should be lived.
Here are a few more reasons why slowing your life down is beneficial.
1️⃣ Rediscover Yourself: In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to lose touch with who you truly are. By slowing down, you can reconnect with yourself and gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, and desires.
2️⃣ Nurture Meaningful Connections: In our digitally driven age, superficial interactions can often overshadow genuine connections. Slowing down allows you to savour the moments spent with loved ones, friends, and even strangers. You can cultivate deeper connections and foster empathy and understanding by being present in conversations.
3️⃣ Cultivate Mindfulness and Reduce Stress: Rushing through life can take a toll on your mental and physical well-being. Slowing down and practising mindfulness can alleviate stress, anxiety, and feelings of overwhelm. When you focus on the present moment, you can better appreciate the little joys that often go unnoticed.
🌿 Embracing a slower pace doesn't mean giving up on productivity or ambition. It's about finding harmony in the midst of life's demands. So, pause, breathe, and embrace the beauty of living life in the present moment. Your journey to a more meaningful, fulfilling life starts with a single step towards slowing down. 🌿
