๐ฃ๐CPR Training at Georgian-American School๐ Ken Walker International University academic and administrative staff were invited to Georgian-American School. The aim of the visit was to train pupils in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). KWIU first aid training was planned as part of the Civic Education lesson with the initiative of pupils of the Georgian-American School (X2 Class) with the support of the subject teacher, Sofia Bachilava. With the guidance of Ken Walker International University lecturers, Davit Kalmakhelidze MD, Mariam Pestvenidze MD and Elene Pestvenidze, Medical Student, the pupils got acquainted with easy but essential skills of CPR techniques demonstrated on a special mannequins. The Head of Quality Assurance Services, Associated Professor Nino Shiukashvili and the Head of Student Services and Support Office, Nini Zardiashvili awarded the pupils and the teachers with the Certificates of Participation for active involvement into the training. One of the most obvious and significant benefits of teaching CPR in schools is to increase the number of citizens in the country who are qualified to deal with cardiac arrest before ambulance comes. As cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in the world, CPR training also increases the awareness among the citizens to learn more about the importance of the heart health. Ken Walker International University welcomes the initiative of the Georgian-American School pupils and will certainly conduct other trainings to equip society members with the essential knowledge and skills of the first aid.

๐ทHenry Kenneth Walker - Professor of medicine and neurology at Emory University School of Medicine, professor of global health at Rollins School of Public Health, Honorary Citizen of Tbilisi and Georgia.
๐ถWalker was also committed to global health outreach. He worked in many countries and had a huge impact in the country of Georgia. It should be emphasized that the first time Professor Kennett Walker visited Georgia within the framework of the USAID program "Georgia to Georgia" in 1992. Executive Director of Partners for International Development (PFID), Walker led the Atlanta-Tbilisi Partnership, a collaboration between educational and health care institutions in the country of Georgia and the State of Georgia.
๐ทWith his support and efforts, exchange programs were launched for students, clinical and academic staff, and young professionals between the medical schools of Tbilisi and Emory University. Ken Walker has been a career supporter for many young Georgians in the United States. Ken Walker's leadership has led the development of healthcare management programs for mid-level hospital administrators. Under his leadership a modern emergency room department and residency program in Emergency Medicine have been established, practical nurses were trained, the Nursing School started working (which still provides post- graduate education and certification of nurses). New Academic Building of KWIU
The representatives of Emory University School of Medicine - the Director of Educational Programs, Professor Archil Undilashvili and the Assistant Dean of ESOM, Professor Gordon Churchward, along with their colleagues and KWIU students, visited the construction site of the new academic building of the Ken Walker International University.
In a few months, for the February 2024, the construction will be finished and KWIU students will have ability to enter the new complex and resume their study in new technologically advanced academic building.
The building is adjusted to KWIUโs current campus and will be equipped with the modern technology for the education. For the new campus construction process KWIU is collaborating with its partner - Foresight Investment Group.
Spring sessions of KWIU will start in a new campus not later than February 2024.

๐๏ธ14 June is World Blood Donor Day๐ฉธ
๐๐ฉธEvery year countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD). Officially designated as an annual event by the World Health Assembly in 2005, the Day provides a special opportunity to celebrate and thank voluntary blood donors around the world for their gift of blood and has become a major focus for action towards achieving universal access to safe blood transfusion.
๐ซKen Walker International University joined the campaign and planned different activities. In order to increase awareness among the students regarding the importance of the blood donation, Professor Nani Kavlashvili (MD, PhD) provided the lecture regarding the doctorsโ role in the promotion and support of the blood donation.
๐จ๐ฝโ๐๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐Thereafter, KWIU students had opportunity to donate the blood and became the heroes of their community with the help of Blood Bank of Hematology Institute activity. For donating blood Professor Archil Undilashvili, Director of Educational Programs of Emory University School of Medicine (USA) awarded the students with special certificates.
๐๐ฉธA blood service that gives patients access to safe blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system. The global theme of World Blood Donor Day changes each year in recognition of the selfless individuals who donate their blood for people unknown to them.

Educational Fair 2022 in New Delhi, India
The Ken Walker International University delegation took part in Educational Fair 2022 which was held in New Delhi, India on December 3rd. An exclusive fair was held with in-person official participation of top Georgian Universities and was organized by the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of India.
