Sabrina Pasterski
Acrylic on 3ftx4ft canvas
2 hours and 43 minutes (least amount of time so far)

Fun ingredient: Toilet Paper

In senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to organize a charity auction, where the proceeds went towards art supplies for a local orphanage.

It is one of the coolest experiences in my life. Artists of all ages donated their hours of work and effort towards a shared cause.
In the rush of everything, I forgot about my own piece. So I used the canvas for an unfinished painting and 2h43m on the day of the show.

Sabrina Pasterski is Cuban American physics prodigy. She built and flew her own plane between the ages 10-12yo. Went to MIT and Harvard at a young age. Doing cool stuff. Find her at www.physicsgirl.com

This was the first time I painted something out of my comfort zone. I was 12 years old and had an artistic 'growth spurt', thanks to the guidance of . I never actually got to finish it, because my family moved and in the process my dad framed it. Guess which part is incomplete in the comments.

"Dali On My Mind"

Multimedia, oil paint on canvas (primary). Fun ingredients: zipper, clothespins, grommets

Price: USD 950

I had a lot of fun making this one. This was my first time working with oil paint, so I made a lot of mess but at the same time I learned a lot. I really like the texture and freedom you have with oil paints.

"The ArchAndroid Mirror" - multimedia, acrylic primary. Fun ingredient: hot glue

This was part of a language project, where we looked into afrofuturism and studied how Janelle Monae (a total boss) used afrofuturism in her albums to address various pressing social issues. Learnt so much about privileges, American slavery and how racism is till date instilled in our society; how it makes life so much harder. Depending on what color a child is born with, he/she/they are taught to be careful about what they say and do, work 10 times harder, be wary of being wrongly victimized, be wary of being wrongly judged, be wary being arrested for existing. I tried to incorporate many of the ideas and quotes that I found cool in her album into the artwork.

Summer of 2019 I worked at an Arts and Printing center and so during my breaks I tried glaze painting some premade ceramics for my new apartment. I was experimenting with some leaf designs and tried to incorporate sciency stuff into them.

31/03/2022

Another work from the field trip. The blue in the photo is a lot darker than the actual blue in the painting. Unfortunately the original painting is a 17hour flight away. I'll try to post a better picture in the future. This is another multimedia painting and I tried out a paint scratching technique in this.

Back when I thought pencil sketching was cool

31/03/2022

Once my parents realised I might be able to do something with art, they sent me to a bunch of art schools, but I never clicked in anywhere. Most of them had a very controlling nature that I did not do well in.
But then I met . He was the best mentor I ever had and half the painting skills I have today, I owe it to him. This was the parting gift I left him before I left the school.

31/03/2022

This is not an original work. I was going through the artwork from a children's art competition and this one fascinated me so much that I tried to recreate it.

31/03/2022

Some other stuff from when I was a kidder kid.
