As the Founder)CEO Rescue Future Generation Charity Initiative we are Celebrating Progress Towards Inclusivity in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State! 🌍 Our organization Rescue Future Generation Charity Initiativehas achieved a significant milestone through the successful ex*****on of the first community dialogue and needs assessment for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). 🤝 This event marks the commencement of our impactful project, "Inclusive Democracy for All (PWDs)," proudly supported by Yiaga Africa and UK in Nigeria

💙 Witnessing immediate impact! Kaura Namoda Local Government has pledged to allocate land for PWDs, accompanied by the construction of a dedicated block. This commitment underscores the influential outcomes of collaboration and community engagement. Additionally, the needs of PWDs have been meticulously recorded and will be presented during our policy formulation in January 2024. 🏡

👑 The event garnered the presence of notable figures, including the Emir of Kaura Namoda, Sole Administrator, DPO, District Head of Barayar Zaki, and representatives from the Youth Association. Their attendance underscores the collective commitment to fostering inclusivity and driving positive change. whos all promised to collaborate with zamfara state government in advocating and implementing the PWDs policies.

Together, we are reshaping the narrative and ensuring that every voice, especially those of PWDs, is not only heard but empowered. Stay tuned for more updates as we persist in championing an inclusive future! 🌈💪

Meet Farida Dalhatu, a mentee and a sister from Zamfara State, who is deaf. In October, I enrolled and connected with Farida as one of my mentees, presenting her with an opportunity to apply for a program. To my delight, she successfully secured a spot as one of the 10 Democracy Turn Up champions across Nigeria by Yiaga Africa. As part of the program, she was required to attend a two-day training session in Abuja.

Addressing the challenge of Farida's unique situation, being deaf and having never traveled by air, I engaged in lengthy discussions with her family. Eventually, they agreed to allow her to fly from Zamfara to Abuja, on the condition that her father accompanies her. To ensure a smooth process, I communicated extensively with YIAGA Africa, who generously agreed to book a flight for her father as well.

The journey was not without its challenges, but through my network, particularly with the support of Muhammad Mubashshir, an amazing and dedicated friend that LMI gave me, Farida and her father received the assistance they needed during their stay in Abuja. Mubashir was with them at the hotel and provided support technically and intellectually throughout the training. Many Thanks Mubashir.

Farida, characterized by her intelligence, brilliance, and quick learning ability, impressed everyone involved where she become the 2nd winner. Looking ahead, Farida and I, along with our team, are set to implement a community development project titled "Inclusive Democracy for All (PWDs)" in Zamfara State in the next three months. This project focuses on policy formulation and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in governance.
This achievement is a testament to the power of persistence and collaboration. We express our gratitude for this accomplishment and look forward to making a positive impact on inclusive governance. And I will in sha Allah continue to advocate for good governance and persons with disability as well (PWDs). Munawar Sirajo Sidi thank you for recommending Farida to me. Indeed there is ability in disability.

*FEDERAL MINISTRY OF SPORTS AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TO HOLD 3-MONTHS WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME (WEP) FOR YOUTH*

In line with the policy initiative of government on youth in the country, the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development has opened up a call for applications from suitably qualified candidates for a 3-months Work Experience Programme (WEP).

Candidates who can apply for the Programme must be

(1) Graduates with or without NYSC

(2) He/She must not be older than 30 years of age by 31st December, 2023

(3) Candidates with the following courses can apply
• Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Biochemistry,
• Microbiology and other related Science & Technology Courses

• Courses for the Administrative positions - Business Administration, Accounting, and other relevant Management/Social Sciences can also apply.

The Ministry wishes to state that application closes on July 30, 2023.
