Open Sky Campers
Open Sky is a van conversion company based in North Yorkshire. Initially converting full campers for sale but hope to hire out too.
Thunderbird 2 is back in the hanger this morning... Awesome looking new pop top on her and a load of work for me to do.... C'mon
So... With Monty (van 1) all done, test run done and ready to rent out... van 2 is being collected on Tuesday. Hope to have her ready in 5 weeks.
Thunderbird One (or Monty) is back in the bat cave safe and sound after her first test run voyage. A very excellent 850 miles round trip at a steady 42.5 MPG. Everything works the way it was meant to, we were very warm and safe in her and had a fab time in Scotlands wilds. Stopping off for a brew (me) a beer (Lindsay Serginson) and even a kip in a little snicket off Loch Lomond. The 5m drive away awning from The Glawning company, is simply stunning. A bit big for this trip if I'm honest and the one from Stitches & Steel will suffice on similar trips. Monty will be cleaned out tomorrow morning and be ready for renting. With Lindsay Serginson Max Walker Pete Heath Sam Whiteley Elliot Serginson
We have an apprentice... Elliot Serginson presented himself at the unit today. Cost me a ham sandwich and a bottle of Pepsi but he cut out the tailgate window with perfection...
I need more days in the week... but at last.. the windows are in... floor next... then wiring, then.. then... and the list goes on till she's ready for sale or renting out. Hope to be done for the second week in March...
An interesting day... met with the owners of Glawning, a Yorkshire company who produce bell tent drive away awnings. Really excited to get one and have it as an option on the rental vans...

So... Mark is prone to changing his mind. Decided the one colour grey wall just seemed a bit flat to me... another trip to the supplier and another crack at it... todays lesson... if you skin your knuckle doing this.. the blood makes a real mess on the new carpet walls :(
One side carpeted and ready for a window... Fair way to go but I hope to have this ready for sale by the end of the month...
The Highline is moving forward. Yesterday saw the holes cut for the windows and today will be soundproofing & insulation. Carpet and glue has arrived but we are a day or so away from that....
