"Pagtatamo"- Filipino word for attainment.
A lei made of Cordyline (Cordyline fruticosa) and Pandan roses (Pandanus amaryllifolius). My first time making a lei, was sticky and slimy, it slipped from the hook a lot, but overall I had tons of fun making it. It was suppose to be for graduation this Spring but I guess I can still wear it at the dorms lol.

🌄🌺 "Mahalo Nui Loa" - A lei made for my commencement scheduled this semester. This class made my last semester the best I had. I enjoyed being inspired by my classmates and Leanne. I will gladly take this lei out of the freezer and wear it with my robes at home! 🌺🌄 •

'Competition 2'
born out of fun which eventually led to a two hour long competition on who can make more Ti roses. (first time making my hands were sore afterwards)
Roses were made from Pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius), Ti leaves (Cordyline), hala (Pandanus baptistii) and ribbons. Some roses had a mix of both leaves and ribbons.

🍵🍸 'Cup of Ti' - First time attempting leaf manipulation to form roses. It took many attempts to form the perfect rose. It's a lot harder than you think! You should give it a try at home :) 🍸🍵 Materials used: Fragrant pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius), Ti (Cordyline fruticosa), and Hala (Pandanus baptistii)

Timeline photos 12/04/2020

'Competition' - The result of a friendly rivalry of rose making.

Containing roses made of ornamental hala (Pandanus tectorius) and the combinations between two of the following: tī/kī leaf (Cordyline), fragrant pandan (Pandanus amarylifolius), and ribbons. All the organic materials were either chilled (pandan and kī) or ironed (hala) to soften the leaves so it can be easily manipulated to a somewhat recognizable rose shape. (Happy Easter Sunday everyone 🐰)

‘Beginner’s Touch’
A Valentine’s Day floral arrangement using Ti leaves (Cordyline terminalis) and rattlesnake calathea (Calathea lancifolia) to create lines. Shinobu fern (Davallia fejeensis), anthurium flowers (Anthurium andraeanum), and carnations (Dianthus caryophyllus) provided contrast for color and texture. Shefflera leaves (Shefflera cv.) were used as fillers for the base. A single succulent (Echeveria) was placed at the center point to emphasize a mix of cut and live foliage

Timeline photos 08/04/2020

‘Love Grows’
A bracelet containing various Echeveria and Graptopetalum succulents with a touch of a few whisk ferns (Psilotum nudum). A “living arrangement” idea was encouraged so live plants such as succulents were used. They were later rooted/planted after using them on the bracelet

'Make Haste' - A quickly created arrangement using leftover materials at the end of the day. Fan/rhapis (Rhapis excelsa) fronds frame the arrangement containing the mixture of pink carnations (Dianthus cv.), moa (Psilotum nudum), and shinobu (Davallia fejeensis) with lemon scented gum (Corymbia citriodora) as accents. (I did not wish to see all the leftover materials to go to waste when they are still very beautiful. Especially when the plant put in time and energy to create them. Everyone deserves their time to shine.)

Timeline photos 06/04/2020

'Spring's Arrival' - A Valentine’s day arrangement using mostly live plants. White carnations (Dianthus cv.) and cider gum (Eucalyptus gunnii) leaves and lemon scented gum fruits (Corymbia citriodora) provide a cool winter-like color that transitions into the warmer tones of the Echeveria and Graptopetalum succulents.
It is an interpretation of the mid point between the seasons by one who has never seen it first-hand.

Timeline photos 06/04/2020

'Uncertainity' - A braclet adorned with Echeveria and Graptopetalum succulents with Spanish moss/Pele's hair (Tillandsia usneoides) twined in.
A first time experience in using floral glue lead to a fairly unsure design as additional materials volunteered for their inclusion.
