Calling all knitters and crocheters! Marshfield Children’s is seeking volunteers to knit or crochet purple baby caps and booties for CLICK for Babies™, a campaign to raise awareness and educate on the Period of PURPLE Crying® and prevent abusive head trauma when infants are shaken. The Period of PURPLE Crying® is the stage in a baby’s life when they cry for long periods of time, with no obvious reason.
Knitters and crocheters are encouraged to make as many purple caps and booties as possible from now until September. Caps and booties can be dropped off at any Marshfield Clinic Health System front desk location. They’ll be distributed to newborn nurseries and in ambulatory care departments in November and December.
