On the 31st of December 2020, the CEO declared 2021 the year of the African StartUp, with the theme, "Each One Build One."
Happy new year and welcome to 2021!
2020 was hard, devastating, shocking and more. In the wake of COVID-19 and the mass lockdowns across the world, we saw how underprepared and weak the continent has become. But we also saw the speed and will at which our leaders could make decisions and take action.
"Move fast and change things," the CEO said, adding a spin to Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg's famous moto. Eluding to how fast regulation moved to allow response to the pandemic, he emphasised the need for everyone to normalise that level of effective speed in solving the many problems that plague the continent.
The solution to most of Africa's problems is entrepreneurship. So this year we will promote the starting and growth of African startups.
We call on everyone, START A BUSINESS THIS YEAR.
To all our leaders, ENABLE BUSINESSES THIS YEAR.
To fellow Africans, SUPPORT AN AFRICAN STARTUP BUSINESS THIS YEAR.
Africa is our responsibility.

This year has been more than eventful. We went through the worst humanity has seen in the modern world. A pandemic of apocalyptical economic proportions.
We are saddened by the businesses we lost during the year and even more so the people, (entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals) we lost to the pandemic. Our prayers are will all of Africa as we work to recover and rebuild our economies.
The year was not all gloom for Africa though. We launched with amazing feedback. In the coming year we look forward to more impact, more adoption and more solutions for businesses on the continent.
We wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
