You can post about these topics regularly, they help attract new followers and clients! So it’s a good idea to take the topic and make a few reels for each one.

People want to know who you are, what you do, and how it can help them, and these reel topics show them.

How to do the Disney/Pixar dog trend:

1) Go to Bing.com/create

2) Type in your prompt, for this style be sure to include Disney Pixar style illustration, and describe what you’d like your image to be. Example: Disney Pixar style illustration of 2 happy beagles hiking in the woods. You might need to test out several prompts to get a result you like.

Whichever font you choose, make certain it’s easy to read. Use a simple font and ensure it’s not too small to read on a phone screen. (Tip- zoom out to about 30% in Canva to see if you can read the heading).

Protect your account! Please make sure you have two-factor authentication turned on in your Instagram settings. This makes it a lot harder for someone to steal your account.

Some of my best performing posts have typos in them! Cast perfection aside and just get it done, because you can’t reach anyone if you don’t post at all!

You need potential clients to trust you so they buy from you! This is extra important for pet service providers who provide hands-on care, and for online sales.

If one of the goals for your Instagram account is to grow your business (and that means getting more sales/clients) you need to make sure it’s clear from glance at your profile:

1) What you offer
2) Who you serve
3) How your product/service can help your audience
4) How they can purchase/sign up

This is garbage! 🙉 I’ve also heard things like using a cover for your reel or editing your post later will lower engagement/reach. Not true.

Instagram doesn’t punish you for using features they want you to have & use!

Is it the algorithm, or is it your mistake? 🙈

🪩 If you have loads of followers that don't engage because you've done follow for follows, go ahead and remove those followers, quality over quantity!

🪩 When using graphics, you need to use easy to read fonts, in a size that's easy to read on a small phone screen.

🪩 Instead of including paragraphs of text, use short phrases, lists, or a sentence or two. Break up longer content into a multi-page carousel post with 1-2 sentences on each slide rather than including large text blocks.

🪩 Lastly, you need to focus on stopping the scroll, with any content you post- video, graphic or photos. This means your videos need a hook to draw people in at the very start. Graphics need clear titles and photos need to have something special that will attract attention, instead of blending in.

🪩 All of these visual strategies are built into our graphics for you, because we know you're busy and don't have time to spend hours coming up with social media content, figuring out what will stop the scroll or testing font sizes, on top of running a dog business.

Do you use hashtags? Why or why not?

Hashtags are not dead! Focus on quality rather then quantity and don’t overthink them.

You can look at your insights to see if hashtags are working for you; I’ve found they still work well, and Later.com released an update on their blog earlier this year confirming this still holds true in 2023.
