4.6 billion-year-old meteorite found in horseshoe footprint.
A crumbling hunk of rock found in a field in England is a rare meteorite from the earliest days of the solar system, dating back about 4.6 billion years. The meteorite was found in Gloucestershire in March by Derek Robson, a resident of Loughborough, England, and the director of astrochemistry at the East Anglian Astrophysical Research Organisation (EAARO). The meteorite was sitting in the imprint of a horseshoe left behind in a field, according to Loughborough University.
The space rock is a carbonaceous chondrite, a rare category that makes up only 4% to 5% of meteorites that are found on Earth.
A MAGNIFICENT,EXOTIC & THE MOST BEAUTIFUL METEORITES.
Discovered in the Gobi Desert of China in 2000, the Fukang meteorite weighed more than 2200 lbs. It was split into 5 sections, with one now residing at the University of Arizona.
Specification & Timeline
Location Found :Fukang 44°26′N, 87°38′E, Fukang, Xinjiang Province
Year Find: 2000
History: An anonymous finder recovered a 1003 kg specimen near Fukang, China, in 2000. The sample was at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in February 2005, and seen by D. S. Lauretta of UAz. Approximately 20 kg had been removed from the main mass by the finder before the Tuscon show and the mass investigated at UAz was 983 kg. (D. S. Lauretta, D. Hill, M. Killgore, D. Della-Giustina, Y. Goreva, UAz; I. Franchi, OpenU).
Petrography and Geochemistry: Olivine: Throughout the large mass, olivines vary in shape from rounded to angular; many are fractured. They range in size from

For Kids & Newbies
Any flat-bottom sink can provide a visual analogy of these solar system components. In this video, the water traveling radially away from where the faucet stream impacts the sink represents the solar wind. The termination shock is the point at which the speed of the solar wind (water) drops abruptly as it begins to be influenced by interstellar wind. The outer edge of the thick ring of water at the bottom of the sink represents the heliopause. Just like the water in the sink, the solar wind at the heliopause changes direction and flows back into the heliosphere.

Asteroids, sometimes called minor planets, are rocky remnants left over from the early formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago. The current known asteroid count is more than one million!
Most of this ancient space rubble can be found orbiting our Sun between Mars and Jupiter within the main asteroid belt. Asteroids range in size from Vesta – the largest at about 329 miles (530 kilometers) in diameter – to bodies that are less than 33 feet (10 meters) across. The total mass of all the asteroids combined is less than that of Earth's Moon.

Scientists spotted jets of hot gas whizzing out of a supermassive black hole at the heart of a nearby galaxy.
Astronomers imaged jets of hot gas swirling out of a black hole at the heart of a nearby galaxy.
Their findings suggest that all jets resemble one another, regardless of their black hole's mass.
In 2019, the same researchers zoomed in on a black hole 6.5 billion times the mass of our sun.
Researchers at the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration — a group that reconstructed the first-ever image of a black hole two years ago — imaged plasma jets spewing from a black hole at the center of the Centaurus A galaxy, about 13 million light-years from Earth.
What is solar sailing?
A solar sail, simply put, is a spacecraft propelled by sunlight. Whereas conventional rockets are propelled by the combustion of rocket fuel, a solar sail is pushed forward by light from the Sun.
Unlike chemical rockets that provide short, powerful bursts of thrust, solar sails provide continuous, slight thrust and can reach higher speeds over time. Sunlight is free and unlimited, whereas rocket propellant must be carried into orbit and be stored onboard a spacecraft.
Solar sails are also one of the only known methods that could someday be used to travel to the stars. In 2016, the group Breakthrough Initiatives announced an initiative to send a fleet of laser-powered solar sails to our nearest star, Alpha Centauri.
LightSail® is a crowdfunded project from The Planetary Society to demonstrate that solar sailing is a viable means of propulsion for CubeSats

The Laniakea Supercluster
Laniakea, when translated to Hawaiian for open skies or immense heaven, is the galaxy supercluster that is home to the Milky Way and approximately 100,000 other nearby galaxies. It was defined in September 2014, when a group of astronomers including R. Brent Tully of the University of Hawaii, Hélène Courtois of the University of Lyon, Yehuda Hoffman of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Daniel Pomarède of CEA Université Paris-Saclay published a new way of defining superclusters according to the relative velocities of galaxies. The name laniakea means 'immense heaven' in Hawaiian, from lani 'heaven', and ākea 'spacious, immeasurable.
Our Milky Way galaxy is a tiny dot within this immense structure, which in turn is inside another gigantic structure known as the "Cosmic Web" (the observable universe).
We live inside a huge fractal that is absolutely interconnected in all scales, from micro to macro.

Artist’s concept of quasar J0313-1806, currently the most distant quasar known. Quasars are highly luminous objects in the early universe, thought to be powered by supermassive black holes. This illustration shows a wide accretion disk around a black hole, and depicts an extremely high-velocity wind, flowing at some 20% of light-speed, found in the vicinity of JO313-1806. Here are 100 quasars identified via data from the Hyper Suprime-Cam mounted on the Subaru Telescope. The top 7 rows represent the 83 new discoveries. The bottom 2 rows represent 17 previously known quasars in the survey area.

PS;
Astronomers now believe that quasars are the extremely luminous centers of galaxies in their infancy. After decades of intense study, we have another term for these objects: a quasar is a type of active galactic nucleus, or AGN. There are actually many different types of AGNs, each with their own tale to tell. The intense radiation released by an AGN is thought to be powered by a supermassive black hole at its center.

Hazy Skies in the Midwest
Plumes of smoke have spread throughout the skies of Ontario since the beginning of July 2021 due to a group of large wildfires burning along the border with Manitoba. Now the skies in parts of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota have also grown hazy as a shift in wind direction sent plumes of smoke south into the United States.
The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the NOAA-20 spacecraft captured this natural-color image of the smoke on July 11, 2021.
The incoming smoke prompted the U.S. National Weather Service office in Duluth to issue an air quality alert for parts of northeastern Minnesota. However, the extra particles in the atmosphere (aerosols) have contributed to what one pair of Minnesota-based meteorologists described as “marvelous” sunsets and sunrises.
