TextureVR™ Products that Enhance the Virtual Reality Experience

We get asked a lot about how to setup the Real Stock Pro for Clay Hunt VR, so we thought we'd post some pictures of real world setups to help those understand the correct process when trying to mirror your real world gun.

Basically what makes the Real Stock Pro so different from any other stock on the market is not only the ability to match real world guns, but do so in a way that no other stock can with the ability to adjust the angle of the forearm, the forearm height via the connecting piece and the height and angle of the trigger as well as many other options that allow the Real Stock Pro to adjust to the widest number of variables.

As you can see from the pictures what you want to do is lay your Real Stock Pro next to your real world shotgun that you would like to match. Adjust it as closely as possible to the same angles as your real world gun. Move the trigger up or down and angle it to match your trigger. Then when you think everything is close enough hold your Real Stock Pro gently above the gun you're trying to match to see if it matches the same layout. Remember you're trying to match the real world fit and feel only, as the sight picture and point of impact are all adjusted within the software.

As you can see in the pictures, the layout for a s***t gun versus the layout for a trap gun have the angles in very different places. The forearm for the trap gun sits higher so the connecting piece is more vertical then with other setups. Included are also picture of a youth gun (low rib autoloader) with a 13" length of pull as well as 16+" lengths of pull and plenty in-between. Hopefully this helps some of you as you look at properly setting up your Real Stock Pro.

Quest 3 questions. We've been getting a lot of questions on whether the Quest 3 controllers will fit with the Real Stock Pro mounts. Unfortunately we have had no early access to the unit to confirm this one way or the other but we have placed a pre-order so we hope to confirm this on or around October 10th when the new unit should arrive. From all the pictures I've seen it looks to be identical to the Quest Pro controller body (minus the rubberized grip and the tracking cameras from the Pro) so we think it should slide right into our existing controller mounts but again we cannot confirm that until it arrives. Rest assured however if it doesn't fit we will have a solution promptly as we have a high res 3D scanner so all we need to do is scan the new controller and cut a new cavity for it in our grips. For those with V1 or V2 stocks and the Quest 3, if new grips are needed we will provide a special price for existing customers who wish to upgrade to Quest 3 grips for their Real Stock Pro. Again we believe that it should fit so this may not be necessary.

Texture VR Real Stock Pro V1 users. We now have an adapter that will allow you to mount the V2 base model rubber pad or the V2 adjustable pad to your existing V1 stock. We also have the adjustable comb, which is retrofittable to all V1 stocks.

In addition to those we also now offer our new Micro-adjustable weight kit which is V1 and V2 compatible and is available now at www.TextureVR.com While we personally believe the Real stock Pro is the perfect weight as is for extended game play, we also understand that real world competitors/shooters want to practice with a VR stock that has the same weight and balance as their real world gun. Thus, the question asked often about our product is should you add weight to your Real Stock Pro, and while that can be argued either way, the next question you should ask is if you do add weight how accurately will it reproduce the weight of your real world gun? The new Texture VR weight kit doesn't take a one size/weight supposedly fits all approach to VR stock weight by just adding some extra weight to make it generically heavier. If your real world target gun weighs 8.6lbs/3.9kg don't you want your VR gun to weigh 8.6lbs/3.9kg? What separates us from the rest is by allowing you to add weight in as little as 1oz/28g increments. This weight kit allows the user to attain any weight between the base Real Stock Pro V1 weight of 4.9lbs/2.2kg or V2 of 5.9lbs/2.7 kg (with Quest 2 controllers) to slightly over 10lbs-4.5kg and anyplace in-between there in 1oz/28g increments. Use as little or as much weight as you want to perfectly match the weight and balance of your real world gun. The kit includes simulated barrel weight as well as stock weight that allows you to match the weight and balance of your real world gun to make transitioning from VR practice to real world shooting seamless. It’s removable too so if you just want to play Clay Hunt VR without the weight you can easily swap between the two.

We've got wood!😉 Sounds weird, but we finally have our wood in house and ready to go, so the Real Stock Pro V2 is available to purchase on our site www.texturevr.com

Here’s the info on the new upgraded V2 version. The Real Stock Pro V2 is still the same handmade real walnut wood fully adjustable stock system designed by clay shooters for clay shooters and with input from our V1 clay shooter base we’ve added the following improvements for V2.

• Real rubber butt pad with spacers to adjust the comb length.
• Slightly larger and solid buttstock and redesigned forearm adds strength and weight to the system bringing it up about 1/2 pound from the V1 weight. The V2 base model weight is 5.9lbs with Quest 2 controllers installed.
• Stock locking screw for length of pull adjustment
• Internally threaded forearm barrel nut. The forearm barrel nut is threaded to accept ¼ x 20 threaded weight kits (see below).
• Adjustable comb option available (sold separately and can be purchased and installed to this stock at the factory).
• Adjustable buttpad option available (sold separately and can be purchased with this stock).
• New Micro Adjustable weight kit available that allows the Real Stock Pro to be brought up to 10 lbs. in 1oz increments. Thus, if you need 8.9 lbs. to match your real world clay gun, you can add 3 lbs. from the 5 lbs. weight kit. (Weight kit is version 1 compatible). Weight can be added to the front and the rear to maintain the center pin balance point of the stock.

There are two V2 models available at launch. The base model which is the upgraded V2 version of the original V1 stock. This will retail for the same price as the original V1 stock at $249.95 Then there will be the Real Stock Pro V2 Ultimate bundle which includes the adjustable comb, adjustable buttpad and Micro-Adjustable weight kit. The Ultimate will retail for $329.95 which is a $10 savings compared to buying all the upgrades a la cart. The Adjustable comb, adjustable buttpadd can each be added separately and are $24.95 each. It's been an uphill battle with our new wood supplier but it looks like we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our wood is inbound and should arrive by the 10th or 11th. Thus we should have units available for purchase around the same time. Plenty of stock, so don't worry about getting a unit, the only delay after we receive the wood will be build time as each Real Stock Pro is hand assembled in our facility in Michigan.

Sorry for the delayed update all. The shipment we were supposed to get in early July turned into mid-July then turned into late July due to issues with our new wood supplier. Rest assured the wood is on the way, we just can’t promise you when it will arrive. Our hope is to have it in house at the end of this week early next week. At any rate it will be soon, and don’t worry the Real Stock Pro V2 will be worth the wait. As soon as we have a solid ETA on the woods arrival we will go live with sales and the info on the new product. Thus please bare with us as we had also hoped to be restocked long before this.

Just a heads up to all in the northern hemisphere. It's summer, and with summer sun comes summer heat. There's a warning in the Real Stock Pro instructions, but we thought it might make sense to post it again. Please do not leave your Real Stock Pro in your car or in an area that might reach or exceed 50-60c or 122-140 degrees. We've had a few customers forget about this or just ignored it and suffered the consequences so please beware. All 3D print material has what is called a glass temperature. This is the temperature where the solid becomes pliable. The melting temperature of the PLA Plus filament we use is around 215c or 420 degrees, but the glassing temperature is 50-60c or 122-140 degrees, which your car can obtain if left in the hot sun on a warm day. This allows your 3D printed parts to warp and eventually become unusable if left in the heat too long. Thus avoid this issue and don't keep you Real Stock Pro in the car on sunny days and anywhere where the heat might reach these temperatures for an extended period of time. Below are some examples from a customer who left their Real Stock Pro in the car last summer. We got them back up and running quickly, but please try to avoid this situation.

Hello to all the Clay Hunt VR shooters. It’s summer time for most of us so hopefully everyone is getting out and doing some real world shooting in addition to training and having fun in VR with Clay Hunt VR.

As with any good product we’ve been listening to the customer feedback and noting potential changes for future designs along the way. We’ve been in the process of switching wood suppliers since March and upgrading the design based on feedback for the version 2 model. We were hoping to have the parts for the new model in stock by now but demand has remained high for the original unit and our supplier is running a little behind schedule so we will run out before anticipated. Thus, when the site shows sold out, we will be out for hopefully only a few weeks. Be patient though we will be back in stock as soon as we can.

We’re hoping to be restocked by the end of June/early July, but can’t guarantee that at this time. We’re also finalizing the version 2 specs so stayed tuned for updates. We will not be accepting pre-orders yet as we don’t have an in stock date nor have we finalized all the version 2 specs yet but feel free to send us your contact info via the contact us form on our site and we will make sure to email all those interested when the Ver. 2 model is in stock.

Price thankfully even with the improvements will remain the same. We also will have a few new accessories available as upgrades for the new stock. Some of the new accessories we plan to release with the version 2 model will be backwards compatible for those with version 1 Real Stock Pros.

Each stock has multiple pictures of the actual unit you will receive if you buy one as well as a description of most of the major defects, however look them over closely as all sales are final. We recently were made aware that one part of the fine tuning instructions we send as an insert with our instructions was incorrect. On the stock diagrams for fine turning the variables the Pitch and Yaw were swapped. Here is the corrected version.

Ok we have a date for finish processing of the final parts we need, so I have opened up ordering for pre-orders. We expect to have production back up by Tuesday, so orders placed from now until Monday will ship Tuesday and Wednesday. We didn't get as many parts finished as hoped so if you miss getting one in this round don't worry we've got another batch in process that will be due shortly.

Looks like anodizing is holding up the process as we're a little backlogged with products from my main company. Thus what was supposed to be Thursday/Friday now looks like Monday/Tuesday, but when I can confirm the process finish dates I will open up orders for pre-ordering. Most likely Friday. Thus if you place an order Friday, Saturday or Sunday it will most likely ship Tuesday.

Christmas was better than predicted so unfortunately it seems we're out of stock again, but we have had parts in process for the last few weeks that we expect to be done early next week.
