This weekend I learned something about myself I didn’t know. My mom told me the story of how we got our first dog.⠀
⠀
She said we’d just moved into our first house in Etobicoke and that there was a dog house that was in the backyard… I still remember this dog house.⠀
⠀
I was about 7 years old and with all the confidence in the world that a 7 year can have, I approached my parents and said to them… “ We have a house… we have a dog house… but we don’t have dog “ 🤷🏼⠀
⠀
And this made my dad give us the green light 🟢 for us to get a dog. ⠀
⠀
Shortly after we got a cocker spaniel and named Bow. He was super cool dog. I remember him getting loose a few time and my dad chasing him in the snow 😂 ⠀
⠀
I never knew that I was the reason why we got a dog in the first place. ⠀
⠀
Fast forward to today… well just have a flip through of pictures. I’ve had many pups come and go. They have all found amazing families. ⠀
⠀
But really, I didn’t know that at 7 years old I already had such a love for dogs. ⠀
⠀
Life is funny sometimes.
What do I need before I bring my Frenchie home? “🤔 Here are 5 tips that you will absolutely want to do before you bring your little fur child home!”It’s very exciting bringing home a puppy, especially if your a first time dog owner. Somethings can be over looked or forgotten about. Here is what you absolutely want to make sure you do
✅ Book your first vet appointment - This is important! Have your puppy set up immediately after bringing them home. The last thing you want is an emergency and no vet.
✅ Puppy proof your home - Puppies are very inquisitive and love to chew on things. Hide anything insight that you think may be hazardous to them. This includes plants as well.
✅ Get an appropriate crate for your pup - you want to measure for your dog's length and height then add 4 inches. Get a crate that can grow with your pup. This is extra useful because you don’t need to buy multiple-size crates.
✅ Distribute Responsibilities - If you’re a family getting a puppy, then you're in luck! Assign duties for each family member so the responsibilities are shared. This is also good for the puppy to socialize with everyone in the house. If you live alone, you’ll want to consider getting some help from either friends or fam, or even a dog walker so your puppy gets socialized with other people.
✅ Find a good trainer - there are a lot of great trainers out there, but not all of them share the same method of training. Educate yourself on training methods and build a relationship with your trainer. You want to be on the same page as your trainer so both you and your puppy succeed in your puppy classes.Did this post help you today? I want your feedback! Dobby at 12 weeks-ish… I remember when he was mixed in his siblings no one took interest in him because he was different.. his ears never went up. I tapped them, tried giving him yogurt, I was hopeful they would eventually go up on his own. I felt like no one wanted him because of his ears, yet he was the best dog I’ve had. Full of personality, love, and just wanted to have a best friend.
To make a long story short, finally someone took interest in him in Boston but I was faced with the challenge of getting to his “ new owner “As time went on, he started to grow on me, my dad fell ill and he was a great distraction to my nieces and the whole family. So I had asked the owner how she felt if I gave her first pick of my next litter because I wanted to keep him considering the circumstances. She happily agreed and understood ( so grateful for her )Fast forward, Dobby has kept his name, his ears never went up, hes a big softy, he still loves when I pick him up and will throw his head back so he can be held like a baby. He is perfect the way he is and he was meant to stay with out family.I believe every dog has a destined owner out there. For some dogs it just takes a little longer to find them… Like Bellini, Tequila, and Riesling. We know their out their, we just haven’t connected yet..
✨Who’s feeling that Monday Mood ?✨
Tequila is! She’s bummed because she just got home want to go to her new family.
Details are in the bio
I really hope her head grows into her body 😂I can’t believe 5mo I brought this little girl home and she was only 7.20oz. Now she’s a full one puppy with a personality. So here are some fun facts on Kifli.Likes: Playing catch, expensive food , having her big belly rubbed, the mop… her husband to be - FüliDislikes: Cloths… She’s a free spirit and prefers to walk around naked, vacuum, not being centre of attention, being locked up while dad cleans the floors with the mop
She’s been a great addition to the Pawesome Family my home wouldn’t be the same without her. We can’t wait for it to warm up so we can have a meet up with her siblings.
Attention all last minute shoppers! ⚠️ Valentines Day is MONDAY (😱) and if you’re like me, and forgot all about it until today, I have the most pawfect gift to give your lover- the gift that keeps on giving! (Love, cuddles, 💩 & laughter) 🎁 🥰
✨Riesling✨ is looking to go to her furever home for VDay! If you think your significant other should help you make that happen, tag them below! & then follow the link in our bio to apply 😎
Here’s a carousel of the most ridiculous faces of Bellini, Tequila, Riesling, and Fuli while they got to play in the snow this late evening.Kifli didn’t make the cut because she was being all bad and bouji and wanted to keep her pretty paws inside 🙄They are definitely winter dogs- HA Consider sharing this post to help find their amazing future families 🙂 They would appreciate it.The links in the bio to get an appy with all the deets.
That’s me- Ghost! I am absolutely a-dough-able! But you can see that for yourselves! What you can’t see though, is how charismatic, manipulative (LOL gotta watch out for me and discipline me fairly or I’ll have you wrapped around my cute little paws in no time!), sweet and gentle I am. I am also a people-pleaser by breed nature and will try my absolute hardest for you if you do the same for me. I’m warning you now, though, I’m very similar to an actual doughnut.
Keep Peter K’s contact info handy because Frenchie’s are just like a doughnut, you can never have just one! 😉 Or get in touch with My Pawesome Dad to see if I can join you and your fam.He say’s the links in the bio… WOOT WOOT… I’m so excited to meet my furever family and kiss them silly..
There is a new paramount show being filmed just outside my home and I had the great privilege to meet Jeremy Renner who you might recognize from Avenger, SWAT, The Bourne Legacy, Mission Impossible - just to name a few. It’s a bit of a funny run in because I was taking Chibbs out for a little stroll and he happened to take p**p on the set as we were passing through. As I was picking up his mess I heard a voice asking me “ Hey, can you stay right there. Stay here”, as I looked up it was Kyle Chandler who played the FBI agent in The Wolf of Wallstreet. Before I could say anything he was shouting “ Jeremy… Jeremy… Come here check this pup out!” Jeremy came over and pet him for a few second then got called back to the set.Later on I was out with Chibbs again and between takes Jeremy noticed and started walking over to us, he got down to Chibbs level and played with him. I asked him if I could get a picture with the three of us and he said of course. As he picked him up he gave him some kisses and we took the picture. This was just an amazing experience for both of us. I feel so lucky to have experience this and have had such a talented actor like Jeremy hold one of my pups and show him some love.Thank You Jeremy!
I’m going to wait till my Frenchie is a little older before I switch him to raw.Is this you? Well if it is then hold up a min, let me explain to you why you don’t need to wait - hopefully IG gives me enough characters. So often owners are confused about when’s the right time to start feeding raw to their puppy. They are often told by vets that they run risk of their dogs getting salmonella or not developing due to the lack of vitamins and minerals in their food.Well, let me first start by saying that your dogs genetic make or gene type does not change from the time they are born. What I mean by this that your dogs digestive system does not change from 6week to 6month or 6 years. They will process and digest raw meat the same way throughout their lifetime. So no dog is too young for raw food. Secondly, there are plenty of options out there for raw feeding for dogs. You can get get complete dinners that will have all the vitamins and minerals that are essential for your dogs physical and mental growth and development.or you can the basic meals that don’t have all the extra’s and you can add in your own supplements. Whichever you choose, just know you don’t have to wait for your dog to be fully mature to start feeding them raw. In fact, all My Pawesome Frenchies get fed raw from the point they are weaned off moms milk and transitioned to solid food.Let me know if your still on the fence or what your concerns are. I want to help you feel more confident about feeding raw so you can provide optimal health for your fur child
Tonight Nova will be united with her humans on the East Coast living her best life in New Brunswick. Not only will she be living in one of the most gorgeous parts of Canada but she will also be united with Enzo on the reg. I am really excited and happy to see Nova going to such a beautiful family and I feel very fortunate to have gained the families trust to get her to them safely.Congratulations Sophie and Fam. If you’re interested in Nova’s sister or Latte then follow the application process on the websites contact page - LINK IN BIO..
I’mmm baaaacckkkk 😉 first I want to say thank you to everyone who reached out in DM’s, text messages, emails sending me their love and support after our family lost one of the greatest men. It truly meant a lot to me. This was the first time I had lost someone so close to me so it really hit me hard and I needed to take some time to myself and process everything. So with all that said I am ready to get back to our usual program… ** Leans back in chair, kicks feet up on the desk, crosses hands behind head - like a boss **So… What I miss??? HAHAWhat does everyone have going on this weekend?
The other day I tried out that whole Ask Us Anything feature in the stories and I was sooo surprised to see how many people responded to that post. LOL - I felt like I was on my phone all day, but it was so much fun. There were so many cool questions, I didn’t realize there was so many people interested in getting to know me - HA. I’m thinking of doing that kind of post once a month because I want my followers… my friends… to get to know me and Füli beyond our posts here and on YouTube. That post really made me wonder how you guys still have a relationship with your breeder? How well did you get to know them before purchasing a dog from them? What was important to? What made you pick them? Was it the pup, the relationship you had with them. I’m really interested to know how other pick their breeder and what made them purchase from them.Let me know in the comment’s because I’m genuinely curious.
Thinkin’ about that spring grid transition 😂 It’s happening and it’s starting with this post. It feel’s good to be back outside in a tee and switching up the environment for our photos.
This picture perfectly depicts how happy Füli is about spring..
